Hi everyone! So excited to be back on the boards planning another trip! Our last trip was Christmas of 2013- we were the family of the "rolling turd" :):) Made it back home to MN, and that trip will always be cherished in my heart, for so many reasons!

Now- it's time to come back!! Joe doesn't think our "turd" would survive the trip again, so we have tentatively been planning to stay in the cabins this coming fall, and were waiting for the free dining offer to come out, because we did that once, and we loved it! We also have another "new" Disney family coming down at the same time, and we are super excited to introduce them to the Fort.

Well- today I got to thinking- our trip in the motorhome in the Big Bear Loop - it just couldn't have been more perfect to us. And of course, location wise, the cabins are not in the same area. Plus there is just something special about the whole camping experience. :) So I called Disney, and booked a reservation for a premium site for 2 weeks- beginning at the end of September! Instead of free dining we are just going to buy it! And price wise- it's hopefully not really going to be much more. The only thing I need to figure out is the rental of an RV. And because we are way up here in MN, I have no idea where to start. I know in the past there have been certain companies mentioned, but I'm looking for any recommendations on who to use or who to avoid. So please, everyone- if you have any advice, send it our way!

Thank you so much! So excited to be coming back!! :dance3:

Hi Shelly,

I just sent a recommendation by e-mail.

We used Moore Camping Rentals last year and they were wonderful! http://www.mcrfl.com/

My in-laws enjoyed camping beside us so much that we've booked with Moore's again for a two-week stay in February 2015!

I am using Greenberg RV rentals for our trip this spring. The process has been great so far. I reserved an RV with them last year but had to cancel our trip. There was no problem with getting our refund. They have gotten good reviews on the boards . The website is greenbergrvflorida.com. Happy planning!

We used Greenburg RV last year and everything from start to finish was great. I called several of the rental companies that deliver and setup at the fort and asked many questions. The biggest problem to me was most of them had older trailers that were pretty worn out, I didn't want to sleep in a bed that was 10 years old. I contacted Matt at Greenburg and he assured me that he rotates his trailers so none are over a year old. When I looked at their web site I could see exactly what they had available for rent, most of the other companies didn't have any pictures, just a vague description which didn't even list the model year. When we arrived Matt was setting up a brand new trailer, had to install a TV and I helped remove plastic from the mattresses. It was a wonderful experience and now its the only way we will ever do Disney.

Thanks everyone! We have finalized our reservation and put a deposit down! After figuring out the breakdown, we decided to not purchase the dining plan- it took $5000 off our reservation, and I know we will be able to save a lot by doing some cooking at the camper, and just paying for our meals. That way we won't feel "forced" to eat somewhere expensive every day- we'll decide where we REALLY want to eat instead and I think that should make for a much for relaxing vacation! It's one thing if it's free, but to purchase it- that just really changes the whole dynamics for us....

We've also decided to go with Florida Camper Rentals - they seem to get a lot of good recommendations, so now I'm waiting for a phone call back to hopefully confirm the camper we are hoping to get! :goodvibes

We've put in a request for the same site we had when we brought the rolling turd down- in the Big Bear Loop. I will be keeping my fingers crossed pixiedust: that works out, because we so much loved that location for our family.

We will be arriving September 29th, and will be there for 2 glorious weeks. :cool1: We'll have our DIS sign up again, and hopefully will get a chance to meet some more of you! Please let us know if you'll be there at the same time!

I was just going to recommend you use Florida Camper rental. We used them in October and will be going again this October. Everything was very easy, they are very dependable and the trailer was great start to finish!
