Our printer has died, and we need a new one. Can anyone give us any recommendations. Maybe with a scanner :confused3 We can't decide if we want the scanner separate or with the printer. TIA!

I bought a HP 1312nfi a few months ago. It is a color laser all-in-one. so it works as a scanner, printer, copier and even fax machine. The price was under $400 direct from HP. (And for scanning, copying and faxing you have a document feeder as well as flat bed.)

I got a wireless one direct from HP. My friend got the same model. Mine was a POS. Never could get the scanner to work, the wireless kept getting knocked off line and now it won't feed the paper in properly and there is no paper jammed in there. I forgot how much I hate HP. I had a digital camera from them years ago and had an issue that never got resolved and they kept sending me the wrong stuff for the camera. To be honest I think my last few printers have been HP and I haven't been happy with them.

I got a wireless printer, scanner and copier by lexmark off amazon for 77 bucks. It just came today so I have to wait til my DH gets home tomorrow to see how it works. I only want wireless so we can all print from our laptops. I think that is a good price for one that does all that and it got a 5 star rating in it's reviews.

I really hate my old HP printer, it took up so much room on my computer and was just a pia! I love my new Cannon! Really good on the ink as well!

I got a Lexmark with a computer and it broke within a week. Got a replacement that broke 3 weeks later.

Got an HP that lasted about a year.

Broke down and spent the money on a Cannon and the thing has been working nicely for years.

From my limited experience, I believe that when it comes to printers, you get what you pay for.

Wish I had read this before I bought the lexmark. My HP is from christmas and is already broken so I hope this new one either craps out right away or works like a champ. Since I bought it from amazon I don't want to have to pay to send it back. Wish me luck!!!

This is an easy one, look at the new Kodak units, their ink cost is FAR lower than the competing units, they are shaking up the entire market.

Thanks, Alex! I sent the link to my DH...we'll see! I like the sound of cheaper ink, especially since I have 2 DD's (7 and 11) who LOVE to print out stuff all the time...in color

May check out the Canons, too, eek40.

Thanks for the recommendations, everybody! As always, my DIS friends have come through for me :cool1:
