We were planning two trips within the next twelve months and situations that are out of our control have made us realize that only one trip will be possible. We were planning a Dec 2006 trip for just our little family of three. Then in Feb 2007 we were planning a birthday trip including both sets of grandparents. Now our trip will just be including grandparents but we are trying to decide when would be the best time to go. There are advantages to both times.

Dec
1) Christmas at Disney (I've always wanted to do this)
2) Hotel prices are cheaper (we are staying free but our parents will have to pay)
3) Different shows and things to see (we have ALL been to Disney at other times of the year)

Feb
1) Less crowded (4th-10th) I would imagine
2) Celebrate Preston's 5th birthday at the HOUSE of MOUSE.
3) My MIL has already asked off for this week (she has a hard time getting vacation scheduled)

We are torn here. I want to do Christmas but no one else does. I don't know what to do.

Since your inlaws are paying and your mil already has Feb for vacation - I don't see any choices.

you can go Dec some other trip....

One thing I might need to add in here. Our hotel (well their's since ours is free.....................frequent staying points) is $50 a night CHEAPER in Dec. :confused3

I have the fondest memories of MK with my grandmother( my parents refuse to go to WDW with my kids)..so my heart wants you to do the Feb trip...there will be time for you to get you trip in at Christmas...but grandparents don't live forever. Think of it this way-you can always take your grandchildren at Christmas.

Sorry Pestonsmoma sound like you're out numbered. The upside is you still get to go which is all that really matters.
Enjoy your February trip!

Try this! Maybe you can still get 2 trips in. Do Feb with the family since that is pretty much planned out and do Dec 2007 instead. I know you will have to wait another year until christmas at WDW BUT you will have a little "fix" of disney in your blood in feb. then you will sure be ready for that dec. trip. Plus it will give you a few more months to save for the trip and do some of those extra things you REALLY want to do.
Just a thought!

Good thought!

But I'm a December person so I'm going to say go then if your MIL can switch her vacation time, it's great time to go. If she isn't oposed to the idea, she could at least check, right? It never hurts to save money!

I say go in Feb. with the inlaws and celebrate your childs b-day :cake: . There will be other Christmas :santa: times to go but only one 5th b-day and how many chances to go with the grandparents and celecbrate a b-day :bday: . I really want to go at Christmas too so I know what you are feeling,I am trying for this year. But you could always start planning for next year Christmas and maybe you will be excited for both.Good Luck :goodvibes

MIL was able to change her week off so we can now go at Christmas (my parents just retired so they can go anytime :teeth: ) We are going in December I think if nothing else but we can save them $300 in hotel charges alone.

Have fun , Maybe I will get my way and be there too! I keep bugging DH about it every day (no kidding every day)so I am hoping he will say yes to shut me up..lol
