We might be moving, & I need some room ideas.

Right now my room really has no 'theme' too it.

I have a "Rockstar" comfortable from Target that I've had since I was 14. So I want something a little more mature looking.

Last Christmas my grandmother got me a poster of Marilyn Monroe and one of James Dean. This year I told her I'd like an Elvis one and an Audrey Hepburn one. They're all black and white.

I would LOVE to go along with that theme. And maybe throw one color into it, like... red or hot pink. I'm not really a "pink" kinda person though.. lol.

Any idea's as to where I could find not over priced bedding. I don't want anything animal print! (thats all I'm seeing on these websites). Something pretty subtle (sp?).

And any wall decor or just decoration ideas. My mom is AMAZING with her hands and crafts. So we can pretty much make anything ourselves instead of wasting money on buying it.

I do like the black and white theme though. I would suggest going with black and red velvet style things. Not emo/goth red and black. Sophisticated, oldies style hollywood backstage kind of red and black velvet. Its hard to explain...

Not quite this "weird" but the overall theme sort of thing would be pretty cool.

Get like a black & white patterned conforter and paint your walls black or white. Or you could do stripes. Like focus on 1 thing in your room, and build your room around that object. It would look cool.

on the urban outfitters website under apartment, then bedding theres a lot of "mature looking" bedding. it may be a bit pricey though. most of it is 68$ and i dont think its that bad.

well in the house my room is pretty small. because it was just suppose to be the house we lived in while we built our other house.. but we never got around to doing that. i have been bugging my mom that i wanted to redo my room but since it's so small i didn't see the point in it. so now that we are moving, I can go ahead and redo it the way i want too.

My "modern" is black and white with dark grey, and the accent color is pink. My walls are dark grey, my trim and all but one pieces of furniture is white, 1 piece of black furniture, black and white photos/canvas on the wall, and a black/white/pink ribbon stripped comforter.

Like I said I'm not really a pink kinda girl lol. My sisters room in her apartment is pink, black, and white "Paris" theme.

So I think I'm gonna go with what Katie said about the gold. I still don't have those posters framed, so maybe like gold framed ?

I have a BUNCH of pictures of me and my friends so I'm going to get my mom to make me one of those picture bulletin boards.. Ya know.. those things that have some kinda material on the back then criss-cross ribbons to hold the pictures. Have the back black and the ribbons, gold.

then get a few small accent pillows that are shiny gold fabric.

It's expensive, but it sounds like this might work for you. I guess you could always add a piece or two at a time.

BTW, I love this website, but I had already done my daughter's room before I found it. And what did we go with -- the Target Rockstar set you mentioned. We painted the walls white and did black and hot pink accents (curtains, curtain rod, rug, etc.) and then threw in a few other accessories that matched the comforter.

I think that's a cool idea. Or if you don't love the picture idea you could do black and white with a red or pink accent.
