:goodvibes Hi! How are you doing? Good I hope. Did the title get your attention? We did meet online 12 years ago. I am from the South. He's French Canadian. Culture clash. We loved each other then. We love each other more now. (Aww or puke-your choice)

Well, the two people included on this trip are my DH, 37 pirate: and me, 36:beach: . The only children we have are not allowed at Disney (one has fur, one has feathers), but they will be taken care of my their Aunt and Uncle while we are gone.

The initial plan to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary was to return to Jamaica (where we went on our honeymoon). We have been to Disney together a few times in the last few years and this was always my DH's choice for a trip. When we had difficulty find a flight to Jamaica and considered the possibilities of bad weather at that time of year, we told our travel agent that we want to go to Disney. We wanted to stay at a moderate (we have only stayed onsite last year and will never stay off site again) and my agent got a twinkle in her eye and called Disney asking about availability at CBR, specifically in the Jamaica building! Nice compromise. We had also decided (even prior to the free dining announcement) to participate in DDP to experience some the restaurants we have not tried in the past. And tours! I have been wanting to do the KTTK tour from our first visit and DH wanted to get his hands on a Segway. Thanks to the info we received on the boards, we are doing both!:cool1:

So..here's the deal. Sept. 14-28

Sept 14 Fly in/check in/settle in/MNSSHP (for the first time EVER!)
Sept 15 Sci Fi ADR for lunch Le Cellier ADR for Dinner Spectromagic!
Sept 16 KTTK tour Narcoossee's ADR for dinner
Sept 17 Brown Derby Spectromagic ADR
Sept 18 Seaworld (don't tell Mickie) Boma ADR for dinner
Sept 19 Segway tour Les Chefs de France ADR for lunch
Sept 20 Universal (sorry- I love the mummy!) California Grill ADR
Sept 21 Sleep in/Kona Cafe ADR for late breakfast/Water park/MNSSHP
Sept 22 M Teppanyaki ADR for dinner
Sept 23 Citricos ADR for dinner
Sept 24 San Angel Inn ADR for dinner
Sept 25 Kona ADR for dinner
Sept 26 (Busch Gardens -I LOVE coasters) Flying Fish Cafe ADR for dinner
Sept 27 ANNIVERSARY CRT ADR for lunch V & A ADR for dinner
Sept 28 Fly home (and mope)

That's enough for now. We'll talk again soon.

I have to stop reading the DIS so much because now I want to stay at AKL and Poly and eat everywhere (I am coming close with my gameplan already :lmao: ).

I totally understand. We have changed resorts numerous times before finally settling on AKL. And my ADR's are ever changing. I see a great review and pics of restaurants, then I change everything to add that one in. Then the next day, I see another and have to add that in. :lmao:

Sounds like a great anniversary trip. Can't wait to hear more about your plans!

Yeah- I SO get the changing the ADRs. I have called so many times, I programmed the number in my cell.

Every time I call too, I make the operators laugh by spelling a French last name with a southern accent. And then give them a Canadian address.

:lmao: That's great. They just think I'm crazy because every time I change, I make them check like 3 times to make sure they still have down that it is our honeymoon. I am dying for some pixiedust: when we go. It is totally what I need to make DF want to go again in the future.

You and I are alot alike because I always confim that they know it is our anniversary.:thumbsup2

We'll be at Disney some of the same time you're there--the 15th through the 22nd. It doesn't look like we'll have any same park days, though. Looking forward to hearing you plan your trip. It will help pass the time til our trip!

Denise

Your title caught my eye, since my DH and I met online also. And to make things even more funny, we are staying at CBR when we go in November! I had originally booked the Contemporary (my DH has never been and I'm a former CM and spoiled by getting to stay at the Deluxes for about $100 a night!). DH finally looked at the brochure and wanted to stay at the CBR because it looked like our honeymoon in Grand Cayman! (how could I not change for that reason?)

Look forward to more!

It's a small world after all...(hee hee- now I have implanted that WONDERFUL tune in everyone's head) Congrats to you!:cool1:

Yeah- I can't tell you how many people told me 12 years ago that I would be home within a year. Nobody beleived this would work. And we met at a time when no one was meeting online.

DH told me he was in band and I (sarcastically-though that doesn't read well online, right?) told him I was a model. He mailed me a CD and a band photo. I called and told him that I was kidding and as punishment, he made me guess which one of the five guys he was. Through a process of elimination, I guessed correctly.:woohoo:

DH had hair down to waist, 2 earrings, sideburns, and a goatee. He laughed when I told him I had never dated a guy with facial hair or long hair. Within seconds of meeting him, it just didn't matter. You know how they say you know, I knew. I knew that this was going to be hard, but worth it.

BTW- DH is completely bald now with very little facial hair (a "pinch" just under his lower lip).

What a sweet story! :goodvibes

So, do you have any anniversary surprises planned?

Thanks! So far the only idea I have is the anniversary cake at one of our meals. I was trying to keep the tours a suprize, but the Visa bill would give it away (and I have a hard time keeping things like that a secret).

Any ideas?:confused3

OK- So I got an idea around 2 a.m. for a suprize for DH. I read somewhere that the Wilderness Lodge has horse drawn carriage rides (and maybe even horseback riding). I was thinking that on one of our non park days, we could go do that and maybe have breakfast or lunch at that resort too (since that is apparently seem like the only resort we are not visiting during this trip).
Does anybody know anything about the horses at WL?

I also remembered that DH doesn't know about the Universal tickets, so I will keep them a secret too.

Now I have to start looking for flights. When we booked, out travel agent looked for flights and told us we could get the cheaper closer to the actual date. We have plenty of time, so I am not worried.

I am getting worried that I have not received my passport. I applied the middle of February. It's a pain trying to get a US passport from Canada (I didn't give up my citizenship-I am a permanent resident). The website says 12 weeks is the average, but I am starting to get concerned. Also, I can tell you from mailing stuff between me and momma, the mail takes forever. She mailed me our customized maps in April and I still don't have them (OR she didn't really mail them...hmmm).

That's it for now. Have a great weekend everyone.

Right now I am deciding between cake, basket, chocolate strawberries and champagne, special in-room dining, etc. I am a little worried I will end up with all of them. :rotfl:

Hey, 2 possible surprises. Yay! I know WL does sleigh rides duringhte holidays, and I think FW has carraige rides in between the 2 resorts year round. Sorry, I can't be more helpful. I would check out the WL thread on the resort board. When I was looking at staying at WL, I found a ton of info there.

Good luck on getting your passport!

Hey! I have been crazy at work but I do have some news about the trip.

1. We are going to make another payment tomorrow morning with our travel agent (the whole trip has to be paid off by July 31).

2. I still don't have my passport!

3. I am still looking for flights, but have not yet booked them.

4. I am OBSESSED with getting a new camera before we leave (much to the dismay of my DH). I have a basic point and shoot that I got just before our 2002 trip, but would like to get something with more bells and whistles, but not so complicated that I get frustrated and give up. I blame the Disney Picture of the day post. There are 2 posters there that have amazing pics.

5. I couldn't keep it a suprize from DH, but I told him about the Illuminations cruises and he is on board if we can share a boat with someone else. I put a posting up looking for someone for September 24 (it was amazing how this was the only real day I could find-everything else requires moving ADRs, which may or may not be possible). He's nervous we may get stuck on a boat with screaming children or not find anyone to share. I wonder if I should try to book the boat myself rather than find someone to join us. I think there is a24 hour cancellation anyway even if we couldn't find nice people to share with us. HMMM.. I wills ee if I get any bites from the posting. I just don't want to get stuck having to pay for the entire boat or get stuck with horrible people (they do exist at Disney-I have seen them  ).

Oh, I have some pics. The first one is from our wedding day and the second is from a recent wedding (my DH has changed more than me for sure)

That's about it for now. Have a great weekend everyone:wizard:

We had to put down our dog Sophie today. She was having seizures and went into heart failure and now she's gone. She was the best dog I have ever known and we loved her for 12 years. I am so sad.

I'm so sorry. *sending lots of hugs and pixie dust your way*

Thank you very much. It has been hard to be excited about the trip when dealing with this. I am getting so much conflicting advice. Some people say get another dog right away and others say wait; She can never be replaced, but the house seems so empty without her. I have always had dogs my whole life. This was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

Thanks again for the pixie dust and the hugs. I hope to get back in a Disney mood when the dark clouds roll away.

PS I got my passport today.

So sorry about your dog. My dh and I met on-line as well. We "met" on-line on Aug 26 and count that as our dating anniversary - lol! We are coming up on 5 years.

We are taking our 3yo dd in November for her first trip - can't wait!!

Happy Anniversary to you and have a great time at CBR!

Subbing! You're at the world almost the same dates as us, we're 13-27 :goodvibes We also have some of the same restaurants planned too, the DDP has a funny way of making trips all about the food :rotfl:

Very cool. What restaurants do we have in common? Are you going to MNSSHP?
