We were able to get a rental car for $125 with tax, etc... for 7 days through naming our price on priceline. We were just gonna use Disneyland Resort Express and we needed to a car for a day to go to legoland and all of that would be the same if not more and so now we can have a rental and be able to have more flexiblity to drive around and what not.....

Very cool! I know you've been worried about transportation, so this is terrific.

I wish I could rent a car, but they do want you to have an actual credit card (not just a debit card with the visa or mastercard logo on it), so it just doesn't work for us. :(

priceline is the only way to go with the rental car best money spent.

I think you can rent a car with just a debit card because it asks if you only have a debit card.

But when you get there, there's a risk that they will refuse it b/c there's no actual credit card to show them, or they will be a huge amount on hold in case you take off or destroy the car. Just not worth the risk, to me.

What a great deal, can't wait, we only have 15 more days.....:santa:

Wow! That sounds like a great deal. I've never used Priceline. I have a van booked for seven days for $250 with Dollar. Think I can do better? Priceline makes me nervous. What if you end up with an unreputable company?

we have used them before for hotels and never had a problem. we ended up with Hertz

Hey! We dont have a credit card either, but we rent through Budget, they put a $300. hold on your card. We have rented from them 5 or 6 times now, and we love it!

Are you serious???? Oh wow, that's incredible. Only $300? Reading websites for our last trip it seemed like they would put a hold on something like 1K! I haven't actually rented since the CC companies and I parted ways, except for one time when the agent was incredibly rude and insulting about the debit card...but Budget, eh? I will have to look into that, thank you!

Ruthie, thank you so much for starting this post; I've learned something new! And thanks to staley as well. :flower3:

We are taking the Disneyland Express bus to Legoland on one of our days as well. I will have to check out the price difference in renting a car. I just don't want to deal with traffic and bus can go in the express lane..... Something to think about, thanks for the info.

Way to go, Ruthie!

Sounds like you did better than I did, which was about $128.40 after taxes/fees for only 5 days ($18/day name-your-own-price for a full-size car). Avis accepted our bid. I've used Priceline three times now for a rental car, and we have had Avis accept each time.

Don't forget your car seat(s)... on our trip to Idaho last month, I forgot to get the car seats out of our van and bring them onto the airport parking shuttle bus with our luggage (we were in a hurry, of course).

We had to rent two car seats from Avis, for $10 per day per seat, for three days. Plus tax. I could have bought two booster seats (once we were in Idaho) for less.

For our Disney trip in less than two weeks,
I will not forget the car seats.
I will not forget the car seats.
I will not forget the car seats.

There. That should help. :goodvibes

yes we are going to take a car seat along with us since it is $10 a day to rent a car seat and that adds up quick.

Hey, its what I do!:lmao:
