We really enjoyed our stay at the WL and I would definitely stay there again. We arrived on Sunday, August 26th in the midst of some uncertainity about how Isaac would affect WDW, but had a great flight, were on the ME in record time and arrived at WL in about 35 minutes.

ROOM: Although we arrived at noon, our room (we booked standard view) was ready ..... however, it was for a KING bed. I mean, I love my sister and daughter, but we needed more beds! We were then upgraded to 6097 which had a south view and overlooked the lobby. Best of all, it had a queen bed and bunk beds, which my DD really wanted, so she was really excited.

We loved the location - we were just a few steps away from the elevators, close to everything and we really didn't notice too much noise. We could hear the occasional "whoop" from WCC but we slept very peacefully at WL.

The lobby area is just gorgeous and we really liked all the couches, rocking chairs, sitting areas, etc. It just had such a welcoming feel. All the CMs we met were very friendly and helpful.

FOOD: We ate at WCC and enjoyed the meal, and ate a few quick meals at Roaring Forks, which we ended up being quite impressed with. By that I mean - RF is fairly small but the menu seems varied enough that you could always find something you liked. I eat gluten free and both times, the managers on duty came out, talked with me, and made my sandwiches themselves. I had the smoked ham and Tillimook cheddar panini with cranberry mustard (substituted Udi's bread) and it was VERY good. They couldn't guarantee GF for the "house chips" which come with the sandwich, so I got the $3.95 blue bag of Disney chips plus an amazing good OMG .... It's Gluten Free Brownie for a QS credit. That brownie was fabulous! We had planned to stop by the Territory Lounge, but just never found the time.

TRANSPORTATION: Loved the boats! Our preferred way to get to MK was to hop the boat, which took about 8-10 minutes each trip. We never really had to wait for a boat, and it was so easy to just walk down the hallway by RF, catch the dock near the pool and head out to the dock - easy, scenic and fast! We also loved being able to walk down the covered hallway to the buses, but had some frustration that we always seemed to stop at the Poly and/or GF before going on our way to whatever park. This happened more than once, and to more than one park.

We had a fairly unplanned trip this time, but we were on the go most of the day, so we didn't really get a chance to just soak in the ambiance of WL. I'm already making plans to stay at WL for our next Disney trip and will probably allot a few more days so we can just hang around the Lodge, spend more time at the pool, walk over to Fort Wilderness and explore, maybe rent some bikes, etc.

Thanks for your review. Glad you had a great stay and loved the WL :goodvibes.

We loved our stay at WL as well!

Glad you enjoyed your WL stay. We like trying different resorts, but the WL will always be a favorite of ours :thumbsup2.

We can't wait to stay there for the first time this November.:goodvibes

You will LOVE it!!!! And depending on when in November you're going, it might be decorated for the holidays (which is amazing) :santa:.

Add deck view (on rocking chairs) watching of the electric light parade and a boat ride to CR to enjoy any monorail resort dining options and you've got a pretty good list of why this has become our favorite resort. I'm scared to try anywhere else. Ahhh, but alas.

Great report! We love WL! Do you remember what parks were sharing buses with poly/gf? When we stayed there we only ever shared with gf going to TL/DTD. We thought the park bus service was great from WL.

Nice report! Glad you loved the WL. We loved it too!!!
It's tough because we would easily go back, but then we would never reach our goal of trying all of the resorts. Good thing now though is that we want to try the other ones faster so we can get back to the lodge!!!! :rotfl2:

Glad you liked the WL. It is our favorite place to stay and we can't wait to go back in November.
