It was great for our family (me, DH, and DS5)! It was a lot of food, but it was so easy to not have to add up prices or worry about the money. I figured up our cost afterwards, and even if we had paid OOP and not gotten desserts, we would have at least broke even and possibly come out a little ahead by using the QSDP. SO, the desserts were a little freebie for us! And we absolutely loved the Tye Dye Cheesecake at POP!!! Also, the frozen yogurt with one topping at WGPE. Many others, but not enough time to list ;). Any questions, I will be happy to answer.

That's great! Sounds like you had a great trip! :thumbsup2 We also liked the tye dye cheesecake at pop! :thumbsup2:)

Have you ever used the standard plan, and if so how did it compare? We are considering QSMP this time, and hope the freedom from ADR's make is better. However, we really will have no need for the refill mugs and most of our desserts never get eaten. Plus 2 snacks per day, per person, i don't know if we can eat that much. Just wondering if i would miss the sit down dinner, or enjoy extra time in the parks?:confused3

We've never done the regular Dining plan and I don't think we will do it in the near future b/c we love to be in the parks! My DH and DS did not want to be running from one place to another to eat so we just ate wherever we were when we got hungry and we really enjoyed it. We only ate one sit down meal (Crystal Palace dinner) and it was great, but took a chunk out of our MK time. We really liked the QS places. They did not feel or taste like fast food. Our favorites were Flame Tree at AK, Pecos Bill at MK, Sunshine Seasons at Epcot, and we really liked Pop's food court.

Oh also, we didn't really eat 2 snacks per day b/c we each used one of our snacks for breakfast each day. DS got cereal and milk for one snack credit and DH and I got danishes and cinnamon rolls. We did have a few snack credits left at the end of our trip but we cashed them in for some things to take home with us. It worked out great!

We got back a week ago and used the QS plan and loved it too. We dont like to spend time each day at a TS meal. We paid OOP for 2 breakfasts (Ohana and Boma) and still came out cheaper than using the TS meal plan. We also had desserts that didnt get eaten, but I used some of mine for yogurt for DD1 to have with her meal or for breakfast. You can also use your snack credits for fruit bowls, cereal, muffins, etc. to have for breakfast. We had 70 snack credits (5 on the plan for 7 nights) and on our last day we still had 28 snack credits left. We bought some snacks/drinks to have at the airport and with the rest we got Mickey Rice Crispy treats to bring home to family and friends- who greatly appreciated them!!!! The mugs were a bonus for us. We usually only get a couple, but each of us got one this time and we would use them in the evenings when we got back from the parks.

The mugs would really be a waste for us, the coffee is really bad so i will bring my own maker in the room. I could get Tea, but they only have Cream to go with it :guilty: My kids don't drink POP(well occassionally) so i cannot see them for a week drinking only pop. I wish they had 1 juice available, but not just pop.

I think i will do the QSMP and do 1 OOP for Chef Mickeys and enjoy the rest of the week without ADR's

Some resorts have apple juice in the dispensers- I lnow POP did, but we just stayed at the Poly and they did not. Im thinking they had minute maid lemonade and power ade though.
We love our mugs for use at home, though. It makes me happy to use it when Im not at Disney- and they were included in the meal plan which makes it better!! Have a fun time:thumbsup2

Glad to hear! We're still debating between QS and regular DDP, but with all the reviews I'm hearing QS is sounding better and better. I'm like the idea of not being so tied down on ADR times and having to cut short other activities.

So, do the resort drink mugs come with either plan or only with the original plan. We are taking a large group of kids from my daughter's school for a full week next spring. We had planned to do the QSMP so that we do not have to worry about any of the kids getting there and running out of money to eat on. I know that they will want drinks in the evenings while hanging around the pool.

They come with the Quick Service plan and the Deluxe plan, but not the Basic plan.

AprilJ26, did you find the CS's a lot busier than usual with the QSDP being in operation now?

For those of you who get this plan but do not care for the mug maybe you could do a good deed and give them to another family not on the dining plan, unless you want them for souvenirs?

Slightly Goofy

I just returned having used the QSDP and I think the answer is, No. Most people who would opt for the QSDP would be paying OOP for the CS meal even if they weren't on the plan. I didn't find the restaurants to be busier because of it.

I don't have any other trips to compare it to, but the CS places didn't seem overly crowded to us. We really liked how Pecos Bill's had the automated order screens for those on the dining plan. It was easy and fast!

I didnt find the CS to be busy on our trip (3/7-3/14). Disney is pretty fast about getting the orders out and you can order off both sides of the registers which speeds things up too.

Thank you for the review!! I have purchased the QSDP for this trip and it is our first time using it. We also do not like to be tied down by ADR's...we have only one at Tusker House for breakfast...so we thought the QSDP was just up our alley! I was a little apprehensive...but you made me feel better;)

Thanks! :flower3:

It's great to read about others' experiences with the QSDP. I think we are going to give it a go for our upcoming trip.

Ok, I'm really considering the QSDP for our next trip, but I am curious about one thing. How much is a typical CS meal OOP? I was thinking that for my family of four (2A2C) it would be about 30 dollars for most places. I realize that prices vary from place to place depending on what you get, but I'm just going for a ballpark figure. If my family purchased this it would be $78 for each night of stay for us, right? So my math is not justifying this. I read that you all saved money, so please enlighten me!:wizard:

Don't forget that you won't pay the 6.5% tax you would if you paid OOP. That helps to make it a better deal. I did the math for myself, and it came out about even, so the mug was free. That's why I decided to get it. However, I will use some of mine for breakfasts, and I guessed at what I would normally order (hot dog at Casey's instead of ribs at Cosmic Rays). If you wanted to really make it worth your money, you could order the more expensive meals. I suspect families that share food might not come out ahead with this plan.
