We love Donald Duck, oh yes we do! - Link to the PTR - COMPLETE

Hey, I forgot you lived in Minnesota! I was just out in Minneapolis to watch my oldest son swim in the D3 nationals at the University of Minnesota! Outside of the pool, the only other place I saw was Dinkeytown!

Hey there! Good to see you on here. I can't remember what TRs I've seen you on, but most often your comments have me laughing out loud. Which led to me a "duh" moment...I finally clicked on the link for your TR, I'm looking forward to reading it! :thumbsup2

I was SO nervous being around Ben. I couldn't even think of what I could possibly say to him, so I kinda ignored that he was there. It was surreal and creepy - but I'm sure that's just because I see him ONLY as Ben Linus. :scared:

KSC is really cool-I hope you are able to go sometime! There are quite a few interactive things for kids, so I bet your girls will enjoy it if you go next time.

That is hilarious about IHOP...I can only imagine...! Ah, the adventures with children, eh?

I'm all about free. Or even 50% off. My shopping trip yesterday included many items that were 70% off. And a pair of earrings that were 97 cents, and then 40% off that. Score!

No prob on the links. I'm a bit of a nerd, used to program websites for a side job, so I would be a bit annoyed with myself if I didn't at least do it... Plus, I agree with you, sometimes its REALLY hard to keep up without them.

So, if you ever read this, cool. If not, cool. :goodvibes
Believe me, the IHOP incident is a moment that will live in infamy. // Speaking of Ben , I gotta say LOST was a trip tonight. // 40% off 97 cents is just nifty stuff. // Having designed my fair share of website, I can relate the need for creating a navigation heirarchy. Looking forward to more!

Well, we are back from our trip to the World and Ive been getting caught up on your trip report. Such sweet pictures of Henry and Donald.
I was so excited that my 17mo old dd loved the Characters. I was afraid that she would be afraid of them, but she loved them.
I need to start a TR myself and immerse myself back into my Disney vacation!!

Let me know if you start one. I would love to read it too.!

Welcome back!!!!!!!! I'm happy to hear your 17 month old loved the characters! Isn't it the sweetest thing when their eyes light up in wonder?

If you do start a TR, please let me know! I've got so many on my list I can't hardly keep up, but I try-and it never hurts to add another! :goodvibes

Oooo, awesome update. Henry got to see his beloved Dut Dut. What a special, unplanned moment. I bet you remember it for a long time. Love your great, detailed pictures Brook. :)

It was a really wonderful moment-I love the unplanned magic that happens!

There is a list of items they can draw (I think they had it in a notebook when I bought mine,) but I think there's some degree of customization as well. I'm not sure about all the details, although I suspect I'll be getting another one next time I'm there or at Disneyland (they've got a similar store at DCA that I was in last time I went down to DLR.)

And don't get me started on merging...

I told Joe about the picture and he agreed-I think we might be buying a cuople of these! They would be great for a certain little boys room, or look really cool in a "theater" room.

:rotfl: about merging! Minnesotans STOP on the ramps. It's a YIELD SIGN PEOPLE. Yield means Y-I-E-L-D! You only stop if there is bumper to bumper. Otherwise speed up and get in there!

Hey, I forgot you lived in Minnesota! I was just out in Minneapolis to watch my oldest son swim in the D3 nationals at the University of Minnesota! Outside of the pool, the only other place I saw was Dinkeytown!

Hopefully you were here during our warm spurt! It SNOWED again yestrday (just a dusting), but it's only in the 30s again. :headache: I'm not too familar with Dinkytown because it's Studentville, but I've heard there are lots of shops and places to eat, so it sounds like a fun to me!

LOST was craaaaaaaaaaazy last night! Are you on the Lost thread on the DIS? I'm on the "No Spoiler" thread. No me likey spoilers.

I almost threw the remote at one point because I thought they were going to end it, but then it kept going. And I gasped SO loudly when the very end happened (don't want to say anything here in case someone else watches and hasn't seen it). My hands didn't come away from my mouth for a good 10 minutes. I was SHOCKED!

Speaking of which, gotta get over to the No Spoiler thread and see what the latest theories are, etc. Have you see ackattack.com too? Gah! I love me some LOST! :goodvibes

And more TR is finally coming up!

When I left you (about a year ago! Sorry!) last we just had a wonderful encounter with a beloved Dut and were being tempted by the awesome artwork in the gift shop near the Animators Studio.

We headed back to Star Tours so I could take my ride, it was almost a walk-on with the FP! Love it! I think it's a fun ride, and the theming is great. I like feeling like I'm on a ship from the movies! I'm not hugely into Star Wars, but probably a teensy bit more than the average female.

This gift shop rules too, Joe and I had a good time in there.

IMG_7357Small.jpg

Joe wanted to buy these for me, only $10! I should have let him!

IMG_7359Small.jpg

Henry looked at me so strangly while I had this on

IMG_7361Small.jpg

When I was young I had a stuffed Ewok named Mookie. My brother and sister did as well. My brother lost his and then stole mine, claiming it was his. Whatever. I'm not bitter. Really, I'm not...

IMG_7363Small.jpg

On a t-shirt in there

IMG_7365Small.jpg

Another t-shirt, which totally makes me crave a Mickey bar right now

IMG_7366Small.jpg

I need to buy this for my brother in law. It's so him. He also has a "More Cowbell" shirt if that tells you anything!

After our fun in the gift shop we walked toward RnRC

IMG_7370Small.jpg

IMG_7375Small.jpg

to use our FPs we had gotten earlier in the day. We missed this ride back in November, so we were really excited to ride-and were not disappointed! While I was in line there was a whole family of four that was trying to budge from behind me almost the entire way. :sad2: It was wall-to-wall people in the line, I was standing next to some stranger and filling up all available space, so these people were truly trying to skip in the line.

I couldn't believe the Father - he would nudge one of his two kids up front and then the Mother would scurry up behind them. The Father and other child would hang back, acting like they weren't trying to budge, but would eventually join them.

Their plan backfired though.

The Mother would often get distracted with random things in the queue, and end up behind again. And, in the recording studio they pushed their way to the front of the glass so they could see everything, but were way off to the right, so they ended up even further behind.

Serves 'em right!

I was soon on the ride and loved every second of it! I do wish it was a bit longer though.

After RnRC we moved over to ToT to use up those FPs from flossbolna earlier in the day.

IMG_7378Small.jpg

It was decided that I would ride first, grab a Baby Swap for Joe and then we'd give the extra FP away. As we approached the queue and I turned to say good-bye to Joe and Henry a couple was at the queue and talking to the CM. I overheard them asking about a FP, not wanting to deal with the long regular line. I had thought they said they only needed one FP, so I offered our extra to them-they were very grateful, but needed two. The CM was there as part of our whole conversation, so she spread a bit of pixie dust and let the couple go into the FP queue with just one FP. :thumbsup2

So, myself and this couple quickly became line buddies. They were from New York (Long Island), which I had assumed due to the accent and was naturally drawn to them because they were from New York! The husband of the couple was hilaaaaaaaaaaaarious. They were first-timers at Disney World and this was their first time on ToT. He kept asking all the kids in line around us if they were scared. All of them said "No" and he'd immediately explain to them how scared he was! He was really hamming it up with the kids and had all the adults around him laughing.

We were soon in the front where they ask how many are in your party, the wife of the couple said "3", I was adopted! :yay:

We got into the library and continued to chat and laugh at/with the husband, being even more silly now that we were "on" the ride. She asked me if it was seriously a scary ride, and I said no-but it was more spooky in the beginning and the drop is fun. She was pretty excited about it being spooky and she LOVES the Twilight Zone, so when the video in the library started she was pumped! And of course, the husband pretended he was shaking from fear. He even let out a scream when the video ended. :rotfl2:

We proceeded through the rest of the line and very quickly were in line for our elevator. A kid in line, who the husband had been chatting with the entire time, pointed the chicken exit out to him and he pretended like he was going to take off, so the wife and I "held him back". The kids found this VERY amusing!

We made it onto our elevator and he started to really kick the "I'm scared" act into high gear. Every adult on the ride was almost doubled over in laughter, he was a nut! The kids found him funny too and kept reassuring him he would be okay. He pretended not to believe them.

The ride started and we all got really into being silly with the husband. Everyone was being over dramatic and laughing. I was smiling and laughing so hard my entire face hurt.

When the drop came we all screamed on the first one-how could you not?!!! But then the husband shouted out "Everyone together now 'Whooooooooooo!'" So every single adult on the ride said "Whoooooooooo!" as we hit the second, third and fourth drops. It was hilarious!

After the ride came to a stop we "helped" him off, his knees were knocking. All the kids surrounded him and laughed. Eventually he could "finally" stand upright and we proceeded through the exit queue.

I took a look at our picture, but didn't have my camera with to grab it...I was bummed at that because it was SUCH a fun time with that husband and wife couple, I wanted to remember them!! But really, I don't think I could ever forget...they were a blast. So THANK YOU again Flossbolna for the FPs! Without you, I wouldn't of had that wonderful memory!!!

We said our good-byes in the gift shop after they quickly met Henry and Joe. I took over the stroller, but Joe then said he was opting not to ride, he just didn't feel like it. So, I offered the Baby Swap to the couple, but they declined-once was enough!! And they were off to queue up for Fantasmic.

IMG_7380Small.jpg

Joe took this in the gift shop while waiting for me - a perfect toddler toy, eh?!

We headed back to the road and found another woman handing out FPs, she gladly took our Baby Swap pass saying she would find someone to take them all. Cool with me!!

We slowly made our way down the street,

IMG_7382Small.jpg

We took a lot of ToT pictures that day!

dipping into a few gift shops

IMG_7391Small.jpg

This one says "Everything for the Film Fan" which excited Joe, but when we went in, the ENTIRE shop was HSM3.

IMG_7387Small.jpg

At least the ceiling was cool, right?

IMG_7390Small.jpg

Great theming in front of the store

and deciding, after our most awesome day, to leave DHS and hit up....

BEACHES & CREAM!!!!!!!!

I was super excited about eating here and diving into a yummy cheeseburger and those desserts....:lovestruc I had hoped it would fit into the plans, and it did just perfectly!

Up next: One "Cool" duck and a (not so) Hidden Mickey

Yay, Brook is back!!!!!:cool1: I missed ya!!!

Great update....ToT sounded like SO much fun for you!!!!! I think I may be able to go on that ride again if that guy was there....he at least made light of it. I don't do well with "dropping" rides....we did ToT on our honeymoon...never again......when I hear people screaming outside of it, I get scared!!!:scared1:

For some reason, I could only see 1/2 of your pics, the others were just white squares....hopefully I'm the only one that sees that? Weird...

Can't wait to hear about Beaches and Cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never been but have BIG plans too, someday......:rolleyes1

Great update!!!

I love ToT and always ride alone. I've had good experiences too with people I just met :)

Sounds so fun.
I did the single rider line at RNRC and it went really fast. DH didn't realize there was a singel rider line and went in stand by. LOL!

I would love to get a "more cowbell" shirt. DH loves Will Farrow. And I'm gonna make you all jealous, but I swear my DH has the same body. LOL! He struts around in his underwear all the time, and I just look at him and think, " That is just like Will Farrow" :lmao:

In fact my 16 year old Paige was watching Saturday night live repeats with us one day and the one with Will wearing that "sexy" speedo was on, and she goes "OMG, Skip has the same body" :rotfl2: I was laughing so hard, and told her I thought the same thing.
I know you all want my man now! :thumbsup2

You guys did so much that we missed. I need to go back and do some of that. Just the shopping in general and I need more pictures.

Your TOT ride sounded sooooo fun! Those moments are always the best. I always say that as great as the rides and attractions are, what makes going down to Disney so great is the people. It's like that when you travel anywhere. Meeting new people from around the world and sharing these experiences is the best, and gets even more magical when you think about the fact that you shared fleeting experiences with people you'll never see again. It was like that when we waited an hour on the line for Soarin'. We played those games on the line and met so many people from around the world while doing so, and it was just an amazing memory. I'm glad you had a good time!

I love the update!! It took me 3 trips to get on ToT & when I did I was so glad I did it!! Now it is one of my favorites:thumbsup2

Well now I know what First Lady Biscuit's getting for our anniversary!

The husband of the couple was hilaaaaaaaaaaaarious.!!
This entire story just had me cracking up.

Hopefully this week won't be as crazy as last week and will allow for more DIS time! :goodvibes

DH and I went in 2006, but then skipped it in November. We probably would have skipped it again if it hadn't been for Floosbolna and her FPs! I'm SO glad I went! I don't have a problem with dropping rides, but it's the "spooky" stuff that I don't like. Same reason I've never ridden the HM...but I hear thats more funny than scary anyway...

I hope my pictures show up! I don't have a problem with them...so far no one else has commented...we'll see...:confused3

You'll like Beaches & Cream! It's GREAT!!!

Great update!!!

I love ToT and always ride alone. I've had good experiences too with people I just met :)

I don't know if Joe will ever get back on ToT. Not sure why...otherwise, after this fun experience, I think it'll become a "must do" for me, even just to remember the fun memories with this couple!

Speaking of bargain hunting, back when the Easter stuff at Target hit 90% off last year on already low prices, here's what I was able to put together:

http://thesledgehammer.wordpress.com/2008/04/01/a-belated-easter-basket-for-less-than-a-buck/

As long as you're not picky about celebrating Easter a week late or anything like that, you can put together an Easter basket for less than a buck.

:lmao::rotfl2: OH MY GOSH. That is hilarious!!!!! I love it! Did you try to return the grass?! That would be worth a blog post in and of itself. Returning something normally at Target (sans recepit) is an ordeal alone, and to return a 2 cent bag of Easter grass! :rotfl: Oh gosh, too funny!

I am very tempted to try to replicate your work later this spring. ;) Henry and I were in Target this evening and he saw a Monkey cup with a straw, he instantly started making his monkey noises and reaching for it. I let him hold it, but then told him "Everything goes on clearance at Target, we just have to watch. Soon it will be 94 cents."

I pinged Joe, who is downstairs in his office, to read your blog post, I keep hearing chuckles come up the stairs. He just pinged me back "two flippin cents!" LOL He's cracking up right now...and I just got another ping "oh my word...22 cents" :rotfl2:

He's done now...he said "Wow, that's a good post...I shed some tears on that one!"

Sounds so fun.
I did the single rider line at RNRC and it went really fast. DH didn't realize there was a singel rider line and went in stand by. LOL!

You are too funny!!! :rotfl: I can't remember the speedo skit, but I don't know if I want to remember it...:lmao:;)

I love my BILs "More Cowbell" shirt. It's just awesome. Will Farrow is a nut!!

I think the Single Rider line at RnRC that time was something absurdly long. I was bummed because I was hoping to get to use it! Maybe next trip!

DHS was a really fun day for us. Everyone was feeling good. No baby puke. I think we might have had a blow-out, or an "almost blow-out" but it wasn't anything major. The sun was shining, we had so much fun!! DHS is a great place for pics too-lots of interesting stuff.

It's such a fun ride isn't it? I love dropping like that, it's so thrilling even when you expect it! And the queue is just incredible-it's spooky and slightly creepy!

I did not know about the LOST threads, but as I rearely wander off the TR board, I'm not surprised. I'll have to go hunt them down.

I cracked up at your comment for First Lady Biscuit's gift! She'll wear them with pride I'm sure... Oh, there is also Princess Leia's gown to the left of the DoMuffs. I think that was quite a bit more than $10, but can you imagine the whole get-up?!

I really like Star Tours. It's a classic. I haven't ridden it even an eighth of how many times you rode it one of your teen trips though!

That was so nice of you and the CM to get those people on the ride. You got paid back in triplicate for your kindness. Sounded like loads of fun.

MMMMM Beaches and Cream. Can't wait.

What a great day at DHS! I am so glad that those fastpasses provided such a great experience. I think you had more fun than you would have had with us on the ride! :goodvibes

Great update!

Your ride on TOT sounds like alot of fun. I can't wait to ride but admit I am scared! My mom who is the biggest chicken rode it when she went years ago so I have to ride, can't be shown up by my chicken mommy.

Can't wait to hear about Beaches N' Cream. I really really want to try the ice cream there!

Your story of your ToT ride makes me want to really try it out. I don't know if I am brave enough. :scared1:

What a great update, Brooke! Don't you love meeting new people at Disney? It was one of my favorite parts of working there and is one of my favorite parts of visiting. We met a really wacky couple at lunch one day. (Coming up soon in my report.) We did get them in a picture.

I sure hope we run into eachother one day! I know I say that alot, but you are just my kinda girl!

Alright! TOT!!! :cool1: I do like that ride!! The first time I went with DD and we ended up in the front row. :scared1: The CM was so into his role and really terrorized us! :rotfl: We were gripping each others hands the entire ride, our photo at the end was so embarassing...we looked like complete chickens! Of course we went again and screamed our heads off for all of the drops! :rolleyes1

Your story of your ToT ride makes me want to really try it out. I don't know if I am brave enough. :scared1:

Yes, you have to do it! It's awesome! Just be sure to hold on tight to everything, because it will fly in the air if you don't.

Ride it. Ride it. Ride it!

Nice Hollywood Studios pictures, Brook.
I was just riding Tower of Terror Sunday.
Sigh.
