We just signed our contract~~~

We just signed our contract and wrote the check!!! It will soon be official!! I can't wait!!! We are sooooooooooo excited!!! It seems like only a little while ago we had one year left. Now it's only 7 1/2 months... holy cow!!!! Still lots of time though... And we are on top of everything and we have lots and lots of help. Thanks for all the help so far!!

Congrat! We just signed our contract and sent it on Tuesday too! My sales manager already called to say she got it and an event manager will be calling next week or so and my save the dates wil go out. Its finally starting to feel more real, than just talking about it. Its a little bit of a relieft so far.

what if you have to break your contract? how soon before the wedding can you do that and what fees are involved? or do you have to cough up the whole ten grand no matter what? I'm just curious!

I think they just keep your deposit if you break contract before the first payment. Beyond that I don't know.

Speaking of contracts, we're about to sign ours in exactly a week. I'm soooo nervous someone will snatch our date out from under us!

if it is NOT being held, however, that's a whole different matter!

It's not actually "held" until you sign the contract, even if you're penciled in. If someone else wants the date at the same time and place then they hold a lottery and whoever gets it is random.

Yup, that's the way it works. You may not have a site everyone and their brother is clamoring for, so it's possible your chances of having to have the lottery are lessened. The site my fiance and I picked for our reception (Living Seas VIP Lounge) is super popular so that makes me a little nervous.
