That's too bad about the crowds.
I never thought of the Disney pools as a place to have a relaxing swim. Even the "quiet" pools.![]()
Myself, my daughter and 14 yr old granddaughter just returned from WDW. I'd like to post a few observations. We stayed 4 nights at All Star Sports. Please remember these are MY opinions and not all will agree with them!!
7) All parks are down to TWO smoking areas! I heard many people complaining about this and saying unless something changes, they will not be giving WDW anymore money. It's discrimination plain and simple. I'm not saying you should be able to smoke anywhere, but two spots in a place like MK is insane.
As a former smoker, I can see where you're coming from but you're lucky that they offer a place to smoke at all. I do think that there should be more places to smoke (off the beaten path of course) because - and this is a fact we are all aware of - many people don't follow the rules so if they are in Adventureland and the nearest smoking spot is near Fantasyland, they won't go all the way over there, they will just try to sneak a smoke where they are.
It's not even just the children. Cigarette smoke is bad for everyone. It gives me an instant headache when I walk through it. Other people shouldn't have to suffer because someone chose to pick up a disgusting habit.
There are at least four smoking areas in every park. Epcot has like 7 or 8.

There is smoking area right at the entrance of Adventureland. That being said, I know what you mean. Sometimes you are no where in proximity to a smoking area. It really bugs me though when people light up outside of DSA's.
We had kids doing cannon balls in the hot tub of our resort. We complained and was told it was allowed.
That's crazy!
actually the smoking areas have been considerably reduced. At MK there's only one by the exit to BTMR and one in the walkway behind FantasyLand and Tomorrowland. the other one is outside by the ferry docksThere are at least four smoking areas in every park. Epcot has like 7 or 8.

I never said it was a cannonball more of a directional back flopCannon-balling into a pool, so that you splash other people who aren't in your group, is rude, period.
That is outdated information. There are two designated smoking areas at MK. This has recently changed.

Take out the phrase "cannon-balling" from my post, and insert "directional back flopping", and the meaning is exactly the same. It's still completely rude to do so, splashing others who are not in your group, in a public or resort pool.I never said it was a cannonball more of a directional back flop![]()

In fact the Space Mountain and the Walkway one are about 70 yards apart. it's kind of silly actually.

A lot can change in two weeks. And it has. Here is another link that says the same thing as the first one I posted.

I do agree, Disney could make the whole park non-smoking, however I have to agree with the OP, 2 smoking areas in MK seems a bit ridiculous. I doubt they need that large of a smoking area. Why just 2 areas in such a large place like the MK? Maybe they are trying to ban it altogether.
Nope, just a nickname that stuck.I get who Sergeant Tibbs is, but were you in the military?
Disney is under no obligation to set aside spaces within their theme parks where people can practice a vice.
Nothing would be wrong with banning it. Until Be Our Guest, they didn't allow alcohol into MK... was there anything wrong with prohibiting alcohol?
Smokers always have the option to leave the park and go smoke in the parking lot or in their vehicle. Disney is under no obligation to set aside spaces within their theme parks where people can practice a vice. Just as they are under no obligation to set aside a space within MK for alcohol consumption, or for people to gamble, etc, etc.
In fact, putting aside smoking areas...One could say that it's special treatment FOR smokers. There is no designated area where people can drink, have public sex, gamble, etc, etc.
