We were at Sea World on Wednesday. It was raining in the morning. So the crowds were low. It was nice.

Our favorite was dining with Shamu. It is too expensive for what you get though. We did enjoy it. But won't spend that much money again. You can actually stand and watch the dining with Shamu show from the fence. Even though you didn't pay for the dining. There is a see through section and lots of people were watching from there. They were standing behind glass. It is a nice way to do it if you don't want the expense.

You all recommended highly the Pet show. We missed it because they moved the time up without posting it. I am unsure why they moved the time. We only saw the last two stunts.

It is a neat park. Not too crowded. And we enjoyed the day. I'm not sure there is enough to keep me entertained for the "second day free" pass that people always discuss on these boards.

Let me know if you have questions.

Thanks for the info! We are planning to go in a week.

Could you elaborate more on the meal? What did they serve you? Did you have a table right by the water? What kind of show was it? Was it really better than just going to the shamu show?

Thanks!

I have done dining with Shamu in the past. When we were waiting to go in there was a really pushy dad shoving past everyone to get his family to the front of the line. When they opened the gate to be let in we found out that they actually had assigned seating and we were right by the tank and the pushy family was way back! Had to laugh... I had done my reservations online before we even got there. There is a buffet line that you go through with quite a few different choices (entrees and desserts). While you are eating Shamu and a couple of other whales swim around in a round tank that you are really close to. We were right against the tank. Shamu occasionally bobs up right next to you (very close). Then the trainers do a bit of a talk and show off Shamu a bit and that is it. We thought it was worth it for a one time experience. Expensive so wouldn't pay to do it again.

When we went last summer one of the whales did a huge splash in front of our tables. The wait staff was passing out towels & picking up plates. Probably why it's a buffet as there was lots of food drowned in salt water.

I was looking into the Dining with Shamu today. We will be first timers to California. My boys have never been to Sea World. They are 13, 11, and 9. Would this be a good idea for them? DS13 wanted to do SeaWorld. I didn't know if the dining was worth the money. We will be in CA for 11 day. 4 in Yosemite and the rest in Anaheim. We are planning a day trip to Sea World.
