We left California to get away from earthquakes....geez! It seemed like an explosion - thought our water heater blew but police dept non emergency number said it was an earthquake - and now the news is reporting it

little info yet on usgs website - looks like epicenter was close to our home and only info we can find says 3.2 - luckily no one hurt here and nothing noticeably damaged - entire house shook!!!!

scary - glad I wasn't already asleep - scary enough while I was awake - wouldn't want to wake up to that

The boys just told me about it. It was a 3.2 centered 8 miles NNW of concord with a 3.1 mile depth. Kids said it was loud!

Hi in CA. We have 3.2's daily but 3.2 is very mild. No one ever feels a 3.2 here!

My DH has earthquake alerts on his cellphone and it is constantly going off and DH will say "earthquake but no biggie" and it is always 3.0 - 4.0!

Now if you had said 5.5 or higher, now that is intense! We had a 7.3 on Easter back in April and that was intense! But in CA everything built in the last 20+ years meets earthquake building codes. :thumbsup2

Did anything fall?

When we got here from So Cal I took great pleasure in putting up breakables - I'd be a little ticked to have something break in a earthquake here in Florida! (Though some thunder claps have shaken things like an earthquake).

Hope you are doing okay now. :goodvibes

I have to say regardless if it is minor or not here in New England we dont get many of anything but noreasters, so to have felt that at such an unexpected point freaked me out, I don't think I could get used to that feeling, it was so uncomfortable.

I agree Christine, it was very scary. I thought it was an explosion too.

didn't you all in NH get the memo that the earth is about to come to an end;):lmao:.. I know how you feel, wow, we are due for one in this great city... I'm asking the man upstairs:worship: to let a sista know before it hits so we can get out the way:eek::rotfl:

I'm from Newport, NH and I didn't even know about it until I saw it on the news this morning.

Sorry but they can give you warning about snow and you won't be dead when half your state falls into the ocean.

I agree-a snowstorm is not a big deal at all, so you get some snow and if you are lucky, a day off work :lmao:.
