We Just got upgraded!!!

When I came home from work today, I had a message in my answering machine that I got upgraded from Cat. 9 to Cat. 6. This just sounds too good to be true. Can anybody explain to me what happened? Does DCL do this often? Do I have to pay more money?

I wanted a Cat. 6 room so bad when I bookede, but I didn't want to spend extra $400 for it. I'm still not believing it... DCL won't change their mind, would they?

No, if DCL upgrades you...YOU don't have to pay anything extra! Enjoy! This happens when the sailing is almost full. The prices go up so much as it gets closer that they will get more money from a new resie for the cat 9 than they got from you for it. They new resie can't afford the cat 6. These are the gty reservations that are made because they don't have any more rooms in that category available.

We went through a TA, not Disney.

You are soooo lucky!! That is a date I had chosen to cruise and so far haven't been able to book it due to conflicts.

Only thing folks have learned about upgrades is that they are totally random, no difference if you book thru Disney or a TA, book a year, or 2 months in advance, book a certain category etc.

Yeah, I am with you. We were just upgraded from a Cat 6 to a Cat 4.

Is it just me or do most of the upgrades, lately, seem to be from cat 9 up to 6?

I am on the Sept 10 Western, checked the Disney cruise website and discovered my stateroom number had been changed from 2144 to 6562, cat 9 to cat 5 or 6 I couldn't figure out which. The only thing weird is that my reservations still say deluxe stateroom with oceanview, but stateroom 6562 is a Deluxe stateroom with verandah.
I am so excited I didn't expect this, was hoping but didn't really think it would happen.

HI. My son booked for Sept 10 Western with his GF, he is using his DVC points (2 yrs worth) he is only 22, he booked a cat 11, that is all that he had points for. he has not recd his Docs as of yet, how can he check the Dis Site?

Just go to www.disneycruise.com and register at the site...once registered you can plug in lead person's birthday and reservation number and be able to pull up your reservation. You can even book excursions and Palo before you get on the ship!!
