We just got back and Soarin' was the highlight!

I wanted to thank you, Safetymom for your comments about the ride before we left. I wasn't nervous at all that it would be scary because of you  and I thought about you waiting in line!

You did your good disney deed for the day!

I am just glad to hear you enjoyed Soarin. It is my favorite ride. I just try to repay the favors when I was first planning trips to Disney. Thank you.

O.K. safetymom -- here's a question for you!

I have heard SEVERAL versions of how high up the bottom row really is. I have heard everything from 40 feet off the ground, to what my friend just came back and reported, which was only 3 feet off the ground.

What is the truth? That's a pretty big difference! :flower:

Not sure about the bottom row. We asked about the top row at DL and we were told 42 feet. I can always ask when I go again.

Yes, please do. And make sure the CM really does know (not just guessing). You would have to whack me over the head with a hammer to get me onto the ride that is 42 feet in the air. But 3 feet, no problem.

Thanks! :flower:

I am afraid of heights but on Soarin the room is dark and you feel yourself moving but you really can't tell how high you are. I do think the back row is higher than 3 feet but you can't really tell. It is just so awesome you forget that you are up high, or at least I did.

I will ask the next time I am over at the park. Daughter knows someone that would have the correct numbers.

Many, many thanks! :flower:

Thr truth is you really won't notice the difference. You barely even feel the elevation when you are lifted. I was very apprehensive about getting on this but found it to be incredibly beautiful, I barely noticed I was elevated. Just my two cents worth after riding it for the first time last week.
