My DH and I were planning to surprise our kids with a trip this Christmas season. This would definitely be a surprise because we had just been in June and weren't currently planning another trip (as far as the kids knew). DH and I started planning in October and we were getting so excited that we just couldn't stand it any longer.
Tonight at supper we spilled the beans and waited for the excitement to ensue. DD said, "Are we really?" with a big smile on her face. DS wanted to know if we could fly instead of drive this time. That wasn't exactly the reaction we were expecting. Granted, both kids aren't feeling very well, and I think our own excited had gotten away from us.
Later we all sat down and watched the Food Network and Travel Channel specials about Disney World at Christmas. We were able to show them the GF gingerbread house that we will see and the CP at Epcot that we are going to. The whole family got excited and now DH and I don't have to go behind their backs to make plans - that was getting difficult.
Now we all know and we can anticipate the next week and a half together until we get there.
