We finally called up last night and booked ourselves a 4 night stay at the DLH! I am so excited I don't know what to do next!!! Thank you to everyone here who has helped me with information over the past months. Appreciate it so much.

We will be coming in from Paris on a Wednesday morning I was wondering what time would be a good time to head towards DLP? As keen as we are to hit the parks as early as we can, I do worry about managing suitcases and 3 children in rush hour on the RER. Would we also then be battling the crowds entering the park? or is there a separate entrance for hotel guests to check in?

Congratulations on your booking, DLH is lovely

Sorry, I can't help with trains from Paris.

There isn't a separate entrance for hotel guests. When you come out of the station, you will head towards DLH and go through security bag check. To the right hand side is a large scanner, that your suitcases will go through. You then just head to the hotel. The entrance to the reception is on the far right hand side.

Hope you have a great time there, the location cannot be beaten. :)

Thank you Ms Poppins!
That is very handy information. Is the walk from the station to the entrance very far?

the entrance to the train station and the security gates to the parks are less than 2 minutes walk from each other :).

I took these photos a few weeks ago, as this question always pops up, and as Elaine says, it's really close.

The Disneyland Park sign is the security bag check area. Once through here the hotel is just in front. The white bit to the right of this photo is the train station.

This photo is taken from the same spot. It shows the train station just to the left, the middle section where the shuttle buses terminate (not that you'll need them) and to the right is the Village. The Studios, that you can't see is behind me.

I love how everything is so close together. Makes park hopping really easy :thumbsup2

OK! SOunds like the DLP end is all good. In my head, I was imagining much bigger spaces!

I was just reading about the lack of lifts and escalators on the Paris metro. Has anyone had any experience with travelling with luggage from Paris to Disneyland? In particular, our apartment in Paris is close to Pyramides, we'll then have to change at Chatelet Les Halles to get on the RER-A. I am starting to wonder if this is a bad idea with suitcases and children. Having never been to Paris, I'm completely clueless.

Congratulations on booking!

We're staying in Paris before we go to DLP this summer and I must admit I've booked a shuttle to take us there. I know the train would be half the price but I can't be bothered with the hassle of taking luggage on it.

Thanks Ware Bears!

Excuse my ignorance, but what made you choose a shuttle over a taxi?

As there's 5 of us we need a bigger car, so it's easier to pre-book a shuttle rather than ask our Paris hotel to arrange a taxi then have to wait for a big enough car. Also I know the service will be a reputable one because I've used it before. I'm using Ezyshuttle which comes very well recommended on here but I've also used BS Transports in the past and there have recently been good reviews of Tio Shuttle - there are links to all of these in The Very useful info sticky. :)

If it was just DH and I we'd travel by train to DLP but as we'll have our 3 DDs with us I can't be bothered with the hassle of 5 suitcases on a train. Hopefully someone else will come on who's not as lazy as me  and has done it so you'll get a more balanced view! :)
