We just Booked Aulani!

Congratulations.

OK... so you will be there the day before us. I expect a Maitai to be waiting for me at checkin. ;)

We are going 04/18 - 04/25.

See you there. :yay:

I'll make certain there's a Maitai with a glowing Tinkerbell! :tinker: ;)

We're staying until the 26th as of now but that could change to be earlier or later as the time gets closer.

So glad it is working out but I would spend the extra $150 for non stop from CO. Does Delta go non-stop?
Enjoy!!!
Thanks... We fly into Atlanta first and then it is non-stop from there. I'm not sure from CO. :confused3 I think you would have to connect in Seattle or Salt Lake City.

It's funny :rotfl2: but the flight we will take from Rochester, NY is the same flight we've taken several times when we head to WDW.

Oh TagsMissy..... I hope we see you there. You sound like you're fun. :thumbsup2

I can also be found on twitter..... @mouseaider in case anyone here would like to follow. :rolleyes1

Snarky and Sarcastic or Fun... take your pick ;) ;)

I am certain we'll cross paths at some point if even just for a drink in the lounge. :thumbsup2 Hubby and I met some great Dis'ers on our last WDW vacation so I am always game to meet more.

Island view studio in the Ewa Tower. We're DVC members, and let me tell you, we only slept and showered in our room. We were in the pools most of the days. So if you're on the fence about Island/Garden/Pool/or Ocean views, consider how much time you're actually going to be sitting in your room.

Near each elevator there are big windows to look down on the pools, and have a distant view of the ocean.

Brah,

Are you trying to scare everyone away with the tako and Ahi sashimi? I bet there will be a few comments, what is THAT on your plate??? LOL.

Da locals will tell them, your won't like it, which will mean there is more for us! Cheeehooo! :rotfl2:

Looks good!! Sashimi??? Wow!

See, I saw the menu at the One Paddle, Two Paddle and thought the same thing..just wait until they start getting complaints about not having chicken fingers. They have kalua pork and fish tacos with taro chips. Ono!!!

I had the Kalua Pork with Kim Chee sandwich last Friday. It was so so.

Instead of the taro chips, opt for the island salad. Interestingly, there was a bit of seaweed in it. It wasn't dried nori, or Ogo. Similar to Ogo, but we couldn't quite figure out what it was.

It's cheaper to purchase at the take out stand on the side of Ama Ama Restaurant.

Yeah, I ate the kalua pork but I don't like kim chee so I scraped it off LOL. The taro chips weren't bad but you're right, the sea asparagus salad was pretty good!

I gotta tell ya that the seafood area was my favorite part especially the sashimi. I had tears in my eyes! I was so full from that, that I didn't really eat the hot food items. The fresh fruit and berries wit da the cream was Ono!

We had comp breakfast and to tell you the truth, outside of the miso soup it was so so. If I had to pay I would have only gone once. Nothing spectacular.

When's your next stay? We booked MLK weekend. Had the 1 bdrm but we opted for the studio.

Thanks for the Photobucket tip. Check your IM, I sent you a msg about how to post the pictures smaller. I think I figured it out. I have to adjust the size first on Photobucket, correct?

So far I've dined at Ama Ama on Opening Day. Expensive, but the food was tasty. I had the seafood stew, my wife had the catch of the day fish. The portions were small, not enough for me, and I had an Maui French onion soup appetizer first.

My older daughter made the mistake of ordering the kid's ravioli. She got a whopping 4 raviolis. She was eyeballing her younger sister's steak meal. The younger one felt sorry for her, and shared her steak with her sister.

I also ate a Kalua Pig with Kim Chee sandwich from the quick service counter. The taro chips were okay. My friends ate the fish tacos, and liked them. They said to have the salad instead of the chips, as they liked the flavor of the salad.

Finally, we dined at the Character Breakfast at Makahiki. Pricey, but I thought the selections were pretty good.

Two other meals were from Kapolei Hawaiian Barbeque across the street. $10 per person beats $14-$40 per person depending on where you eat for dinner on property. There is also Just Tacos, a Ice Cream Parlor, and an ABC Country Store for supplies.

For those with a rental car, head down the highway 6-8 minutes to Kapolei. Target, COSTCO, and many dining options available. Guaranteed you will save money by going into town.

The two stores, Lava Flow and Kalepa's have some pre-made meal selections. Very pricey if you ask me. There are groceries, sodas, water, and alcohol available. Expect to pay more.
