We Invite You to Relax as the Dining Room Proudly Presents a TR! *The End 12/24 Pg44*

I didn't realize that Naveen and Tiana were still around. Her dress is so pretty, I just love it! :goodvibes

I think any time it's that hot in Disney makes a good recipe for crankpot, trust me. It's hard not to get cranky in that kind of weather, but at least you got in some good AC breaks.

I love the souvie mug for the slushy coke! I don't know if I've ever seen that before, and I hope they still have it when we go, I'd have to talk my DH into it! :thumbsup2

I love your opening ceremony pictures. I hope mine turned out that good. I'm not even sure what they look like cause I took so darn many pictures.

Your shirt is absolutely adorable. Did you make it?

Again - awesome morning - all walk ons. Wow - you got to do so much. Very cool.

Too bad it was so stinkin' hot. I guess early September is just hit or miss. It can be brutal.

Anyway - I hope you got the mansion room of your dreams!

A/C and cold drinks are the only way to survive that heat!!

Mansion Mansion Mansion Mansion Mansion!!! I'm chanting!

I need to get me one of those slushies! :woohoo:
They are delicious!

They do have them at Target :)

There is a 7-11 right next to Cayley's preschool-gues I'm getting me a Slurpee today
*LA LA LA LA* Ears plugged to all these places to get slushies. :lmao:

Now, I've gone to Disney in June, but I was able 12 years old. I don't remember which park it was, but one of the parades had 2 giant camel floats in it that featured Aladdin, and when they were lined up just right as they went by, they "spit" water at you. One of the only things I can remember from that June trip, was that I was DYING to get spit by the camel because it was so hot. Now, that I'm older, I think I'm much more crankier, :rotfl: and don't know if I would be able to stand the heat, so I give you super dooper props for taking the heat with (just the right amount?) of crankiness:thumbsup2

I agree with Buzz. Blake and I still like to get on Buzz because we like the inside how it glows and he always beats me because he aims for the targets that are up the highest, but after Toy Story Mania came around, Buzz just doesn't even come close anymore. We still like getting pictures inside!

So excited to hear if you got your Mansion room!
I get so cranky when I'm too hot. It just makes you feel so yucky!!

Target has faux slurpees and they usually have coca cola and wild cherry and you can mix. And they hit the spot BUT I have a feeling they might be a different consistency. Were the Disney ones like a slupee or more slushie like? Burger King has them too. Sorry!
Hmmm, I am not sure which one they are more like to be honest. I just know they are delicious!

Another simply wonderful update!!! Sorry it was so hot!!! I'm not sure what has been going on with Florida lately, but its been staying hotter for longer!!

I love that mug...what a great souvenir to have!! And Disney frozen cokes are the best!! LOVE THEM!!!!

Can't wait to hear about your POR pool time!
I really don't know if I'd go in September again. Even with the low crowds, the heat was just too much for me this last trip.

I simply LOVE this picture!!! What a perfect shot of the "romance" of Disney!! :thumbsup2
I love this picture, it was my favorite from the opening show!

I was soooo far behind.

I love that you out scored Marc three times. I'm wondering if it those cool new glasses.

Your lunch at Brown Derby sounded so good. Actually your whole day sounded pretty great.

I'm so glad you made it to the GF. It's so lovely. Both of my daughters want to stay there someday. It's their dream resort. You got some really great pictures in the resort.

Sounds like a great morning in the MK except for the heat. I know how much it can really zap your energy and make you cranky.

I'm dying to find out if you got the room you wanted.
Maybe it is the glasses! :lmao:

The heat really does just zap you completely, it is not a fun feeling when you want to do so many things!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: This made me laugh out loud and then Charles wanted to know what was so funny! Our husbands are so weird sometimes! :lmao:

Love, love, love that you got a picture with Bert and Mary! I think it is adorable!

Hey, I am liking the souvenir cup your slushie coke came in -- that is very cool!

Hurray for trying out the teacups!!! I am so happy you at least gave them a spin.

I know all about crankiness in the heat. It definitely sounds like heading to the pool was a wise choice. We had to do that every afternoon.
Jackie, while I was typing up the stuff about the picture I was totally thinking of you. It just reminded me of something that Charles would say to you. :lmao:

I would ride the teacups again as long as I'm in control of the spinning.

Sorry you were cranky today... I think it happens to all of us sometime during a vacation... especially if it's hot! :headache:

I can't wait to see if you got a mansion room!!
You will see in the next update!!

Slushie Cokes at Target, Sam's Club and Burger King ;) Now just forget I said that.
Laughing at the bird picture!!! What the?!! Don't get just one..get them all! :rotfl2::rotfl2: You should frame it for him and give it to him for Christmas!
I remember one of the first times we ever went to Disney and I was on the teacups with one of my brothers. He spun it so fast my neck was pinned back like I was looking up at the sky. I know I was five the first time so it was either when I was five or seven! :sad2:
Sometimes it is just tooooo hot! I just can't wait to see what you get for your room. I do hope you got that mansion you so wanted :goodvibes

Tracy
I should frame it for Christmas but knowing him he won't even remember asking me to take it! :lmao:

Sounds like kind of a mixed bag morning. Sounds like you did have some fun though- not as bad as EPCOT.

Love the picture of the Tremaines yelling for Cinderella. Too funny.

I'm really hoping that you'll get your mansion room.

It wasn't as hot as Epcot but it was close, MK has more shaded areas and AC attractions I think so that helped.

I didn't realize that Naveen and Tiana were still around. Her dress is so pretty, I just love it! :goodvibes

I think Tiana and Naveen are here to stay, there hasn't been any talk of them leaving the parks yet. I like them, they are a great new meet. Most of the time with the new characters they don't stay around for long.

They had the mug in January too, so I am sure they will still have it on your trip.

I love your opening ceremony pictures. I hope mine turned out that good. I'm not even sure what they look like cause I took so darn many pictures.

I did make it, I bought the pattern of the letters on Etsy and then made it from fabric and iron on adhesive, it was super easy.

The heat was really brutal but we still managed to have a good time.

A/C and cold drinks are the only way to survive that heat!!

Mansion Mansion Mansion Mansion Mansion!!! I'm chanting!
It truly is!

I like your chanting. :lmao:

I was a little behind but caught your last two posts! Wow!! What fun at the MK and the GF! I really do think that pic outside the train station is the nicest I have seen of you both so far. Very cute. And I like all the MK morning pics, too! Cant wait to hear how Riverside is now!! FUN! Oh! And I forgot to mention the polenta side!!!! WOOT! I will so be all over that next time we go!

YUM and what a deal!

Frozen cokes - AWESOME! Cute cup, too!

Hey LL, I've been lurking and then got behind but I'm all caught up now as I've been enjoying my morning coffee this lovely morning. :surfweb:

Great timing... can't wait to hear how you've enjoyed Riverside! Oh and I really like the picture of you and Marc outside the train station as well -- very nice!

Sorry about your crankiness, but I enjoyed reading about it...
Does that make me bad?
I do think I might need to have a frozen coke when we go! (thanks to you)
Can't wait to hear about your stay at POR, we have our weekend stay there at Christmas all booked. Wondering if we should try requesting a location?

ugghhh...I was 4 updates behind!!!

I have so much to comment on. But first and foremost...you can get a refillable mug of coke slushies???? HOW did I not know this??

Ok love the teacup pics of you guys. So cute!

You've never been to GF before? Seriously???? With your MP obsession???

Tell M that I'm proud of him for the whole booth request thing...oh and that he's exploring his artistic side ;) :rotfl2:

Oh and the plaid shirt looks really good on you :thumbsup2

Thank you! It figures that a picture I don't like, everyone else does. That is always how it's been with me though. My mother and I still argue over which of my wedding photos and EVEN my senior picture is the best.

I can't recommend the polenta enough, it is truly delicious!

No worries on the lurking, it's been hard for me to keep up lately too. :goodvibes

I like reading about other peoples crankiness too so I guess we can be bad together.

I think all of POR is beautiful but I'm partial to the mansion side.

ugghhh...I was 4 updates behind!!!

How was your trip!!? I followed a little bit on facebook but I get on there so little lately that I'm not caught up on anything.

Okay, I should have clarified. You can't get a refill on the slushie coke, I was just using that term to describe that it's a reusable cup. SORRY! :guilty:

Nope, never been to GF before. I'm glad I made the time this trip, it is so gorgeous!!

Got the plaid shirt at Kohls, two of them to be exact.

I'll tell him you are proud but like I said before I doubt even remembers directing me to take that photo. :rotfl2:

I wasn't as far behind as I thought! :thumbsup2

Great updates! I know what you mean about hot- my trip was the end of September, and I was still dieing!

I had a similar experience with the bird picture. Nikki had to have pictures of the birds by Cassie's. NO idea why!

Despite the heat, it sounds like you were having fun!!!

It was uber hot on our trip. I know I keep saying that but it really zapped me of a lot of Disney energy.

We were having fun even with the heat, I'm glad that is coming through. Sometimes I think I complain too much on my TRs. :rotfl:

Wednesday September 8th, Part 2.

We last left off with Marc & I boarding the bus to Riverside. I was excited, anxious and everything all rolled into one. I was a bundle of nerves, after the hot morning leaving me zero patience, I was worried what would happen if I didn't get a Mansion. I might melt down with the best of them.

This was also our first taste of multiple bus stops at a resort. I'll admit, I am NOT a fan. More on that later.

I think on this particular journey, the stop at the main building was stop #3 but don't quote me on that. On the bus, I had tossed Marc the camera. The plan was that I would do the online check in and Marc was on picture duty.

I think he did pretty well while I was checking in.

Didn't he do a good job? I was impressed and I will admit wondering where the heck he had gone too while I was checking in.

While I was at the online check in desk, which took longer than at Pop. I think I had a newer CM. I didn't mind that it was taking so long, I was enjoying the AC.

I think the first thing I asked is if I had gotten a Mansion room once I handed over my ID.

The answer was......

YES!!! WOO TO THE FREAKING HOO!!

We were in Parterre Place. I wasn't thrilled about that location but I really enjoyed it. I'm glad I didn't request a specific Mansion building and just went with what they gave me. Just like at Pop too, I was happy with what they assigned me without putting in a request.

I met back up with Marc who didn't appear until I was leaving the lobby area. I was concerned he had gotten run over by a bus or something while taking pictures. I told him that we had gotten a Mansion room. We headed to the food court to get some lunch to go. I was hoping that POR would have the delicious Taco Salads like I had at POFQ and ASMu but no luck. I was sad. I ordered a kids mac n' cheese and Marc ordered a cheeseburger. We brought them back to the room with us.

As we headed to our room, Marc didn't take pictures along the way, I guess he's not that good yet. ;)

I think I have a picture of room number later on. I had Marc take pictures of the room while I collapsed on the bed. It had been a long morning!

DSC00440.jpg

We ate our lunch or I should rephrase that, I got stuck on my lunch and gave up. I decided to call bell services because Pop had said that our luggage would be delivered by 1PM. The lady I got on the other line was not so magical. She said it would be delivered before 4PM. I asked if there would be anyway for her to check to see if our luggage had arrived yet. She said no. I wasn't in the mood to argue so I just let it go.

Less than 5 minutes later bell services called and said our luggage was on the way. Oy!

Our lunches.
DSC00441.jpg

DSC00442.jpg

Since our luggage had been delivered I decided that we should do laundry. I gathered everything up while Marc finished his lunch and I headed to the pool area to start the laundry.

I claimed a table and then went to the laundry room. We only had two loads to do. I sat down at the table and decided I needed a drink. I hadn't eaten anything all day except a slushie coke and two bites of mac n' cheese. Marc finally arrived at the pool taking his sweet time, I asked him to go get me a Pina Colava at the pool bar.

This is when IT started.

Argh.

IT would be the maddest that I have ever been at Marc. EVER.

He rolled his eyes and huffed at me. I said, "FINE! I will go get it." He says to me, "I want to relax." I almost blew my gasket but just said, "Well so do I and I'm doing our laundry." He finally agreed to go get it once I stood up and put my flip flops back on to go to the pool bar.

I took some pictures. We were at the quiet pool in between two of the Mansion buildings, Parterre Place and Oak Terrace I think. It was beautiful and so relaxing. I couldn't wait to dip into the pool!

DSC00444.jpg

DSC00445.jpg

By the time he got back, it was time to switch the laundry over. We have some shirts we don't dry so I took them back to the room because I didn't want them just sitting on the dirty pool chairs.

Ahhh...my sweet baby.
DSC00446.jpg

When I got back from the room, I sat down and finished my drink. Quickly. It was delightful but I was still feeling a little lethargic from not having anything to eat all day.

Soon enough it was time to get the dry laundry out. Marc had said he would bring it to the room for me since I had already gone back once.

I get all the CLEAN, DRY laundry into our laundry bag and exit the laundry building to a DOWNPOUR!

I'm ready to have a melt down. I'm hot, tired and hungry. I scurry over to our umbrella expecting Marc to stand up to take the laundry. He just sits there. I ask him if he's going to go. "I'm going to wait out the rain." In my head I am fuming. I'm standing, holding the PIPING hot two loads of laundry. I already lugged it here, did it and took the clothes we don't dry back to the room I WAS DONE.

Marc is sitting with his feet up on a chair, pool drink in hand (I didn't take a picture of his because I was still grumpy at him) reading his book.

I asked him to please take them because as I'm standing there, my back is getting soaked because the umbrella is not covering me. He tells me to just put the clothes on a chair.

On a dirty, gross pool chair.

Nope!

I grabbed up my room key and huffed away with the piping hot laundry, CURSING him in my head. Close to tears.

I know it might sound silly to you but I put so much effort into planning a nice vacation for us and he doesn't appreciate that. He tells me he's going to do something and then he doesn't do it.

I was so done.

I put away all the laundry.

I sat on the bed and cried.

I resolved that I was NOT going back to the pool.

That lasted for about 20 minutes.

I was in my bathing suit and I was going to go swimming.

What do I see when I get back to the pool?

My husband swimming without a care in the world. He didn't even notice that I hadn't come back.

I was seething with anger. SEETHING, I tell you.

I sat my butt down in my chair and didn't budge an inch. I may have sat there with my arms crossed for a bit before I calmed myself down enough to read my book.

Marc finally notices that I'm fuming mad and swims over to me. "Aren't you going to come in? It's really nice."

At this point my jaw hurts because I'm clenching my teeth so hard. Again, I may have been overreacting but with the heat and not eating, I was not rational.

I get into the pool and I have a very quiet conversation with Marc about how mad I am at him at the end where no one is swimming. He apologizes and I feel a little better. I think he realized that he wasn't the only one on vacation at that point. And when you offer to do something, you need to do it.

I let it go and enjoyed a relaxing swim. It started to sprinkle a little bit more but we waited it out in the pool. Once I was in a better mood, we talked about what we wanted to do that night. We decided to head to Downtown Disney.

From the boat, my camera is a little foggy.
DSC00447.jpg

As much as I love the boat, sometimes it felt like the ride to DTD took forever and I know a lot of that had to do with the stop at POFQ each way but oh well. I love the boat!

On the way over to DTD we decided that we would get Wolfgang Puck Express to go so that I could eat and not have troubles hopefully with feeling rushed.

I ordered Roast Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Marc ordered the Meatloaf that came with mashed potatoes and fried onions on top. We do not have pictures, we were so hungry by the time we got back to the room that we both forgot until we were finished.

My chicken was AMAZING. It was so nice to be able to actually eat! Marc loved loved his meatloaf.

Before we left DTD we had stopped at Goofy's to get some dessert.

Marc's peanut butter chocolate cookie.

Pumpkin Fudge and a chocolate covered strawberry.
DSC00450.jpg

Both were heavenly! My goodness, so very good. I am now addicted to pumpkin fudge. If you have the chance to try it you should. I also just realized why I have been craving pumpkin so much over the last few weeks. DUH! It must be because of the wonderful pumpkin fudge!

Our next day was scheduled to be Animal Kingdom. I was not feeling it at all. I told Marc that we should have a rest day and do AK another day. We still had a week left! He agreed, so we didn't set the alarm. We went to bed with dreams of a relaxing day dancing in our heads.

Coming up...
A Changed Mind.

Subbing!:goodvibes Yes, I'm a little late, but I have read all your updates so I'm hopefully caught up! I'm new to this TR reading/PTR writing thing, and yours is really putting me in the mood to work on mine! So glad you've got lots more days to write about.

I'm such a DIS slacker! I'm caught up on your TR now, though.

I'm so sorry about all the food issues you had while on your trip. It must have been torture to be so hungry in a place where you know you love the food so much. You and Marc both look amazing though. What a transformation!

Yay for getting the mansion room. I just love those rooms!

Did you get to see the Mary Poppins topiary when you were at the GF?

OH My LL - No wonder you were grumpy .....next to nothing to eat all day, hot weather, and 2 loads of laundry. DH's are just so clueless when it comes to laundry and such. They just don't care.

I think Patierre (?) place is so beautiful. I actually think its the prettiest of all the mansion. We stayed at Oak Manor, so I know exactly what pool you are talking about. I remember thinking that pool was a complete slice of heaven.

Dinner sounds delicious and pumpkin fudge - yum! I am a sucker for pumpkin latte. I would drink it every day if it didn't have a days worth of calories in it. I save it for special occasions. Love everything with pumpkin.

March did do a beautiful job taking those pictures. They are really lovely!

Welcome!! It's never too late to join in. :goodvibes

I will have to try and check out your PTR.

It was a little bit of torture but it also helped not place such an important emphasis on Disney food. I'm more go with the flow now I think when it comes to ADRs and food. :thumbsup2

Did you get to see the Mary Poppins topiary when you were at the GF?
Nope. I didn't know where she was and I thought to go look for her after dinner but then after dinner I totally spaced out and forgot to go look for her. :sad2:

The thing about Marc is that he has no problem helping me but wants to do it on his terms and his way which is not how it should be done. He is the worlds biggest procrastinator and I think that is the one thing about him that drives me batty. Ugh.

I agree, I think Parterre Place is the prettiest. I'm glad we got to stay in that building.

The pool was heaven. It was never crowded and we had trouble getting a table once, so we just had to wait for someone to leave which was no big deal. Oh, how I wish I was there now. :cloud9:

Your mansion looks so pretty. Marc is quite the photog! Sorry you got into it with him. Seems like typical men being men behavior but I totally know how there is only so much of that a person can take.

oh my goodness, I would have had angry eyes too! Men are such DORKS sometimes and completely clueless.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy your dinner, it sounds like a long hot, stressful day that ended well.
