We heading to DLR on Sunday!

We leave on Sunday for 4.5 days at DLR!! DW, DD, and I are all extremely excited. Was anyone there during the week this last week? How was it?

I am going with youuu... but that's because I am the dw that you mentioned. Woo hoo!!!!

It's our first time staying at the HoJo. We usually stay at the Desert Inn & Suites. We're thinking our almost 3 year old will LOVE the pool and they allow 2 cars so we didn't have to drive with Goofy_Dave's parents again. I had to ride from Sacramento Area to Disneyland in the tiny 3rd row of a Highlander a few years ago! To make it worse, 5 was closed in San Fernando Valley and we were stopped for almost two hours!!!

Anyway, we're excited!!!!!!!

It should be a perfect time! Low crowds, lovely warm weather and you are arriving on Mother's Day to boot!

Try to watch the fireworks Sunday night as I don't believe they will be on during the week and they are fabulous.

How is that Desert Inn anyways???

We like it. It's just about as close to the main entrance crosswalk as you can get, plus it's a perfectly decent hotel. Nothing fancy, but it's a clean place to sleep. The only catch is that you can only park one car per room there. Even if it's one of the big double-room suites. And the maid service sometimes won't reach your room until 2 or 3pm.

I was only in DCA this past week, but it was really a great time to go. The crowd levels were very low. The Food and Wine festival is going on - depending on how old your DD is, it can be fun to see (and taste) some of the free demos. You could do the Jr. Chef thing with her if she's still young.
It has been hot out, though, so be prepared for the weather. It's a great time to go, though.
