Aw Nutty, sorry to hear about your grandma. I really don't get family sometimes. The last 2 times my MIL was hospitalized she told the family not to call us because she didn't want to worry and upset us. Um hello??? You're in the hospital and you don't want your son to know. She has COPD and on oxygen 24/7. Being in the hospital is a pretty good deal. At least let us know so if we need to come own we'll be prepared. UGH

I hope she has a quick recovery Nutty. Being cut lose so soon is a good sign though. Thanks too for the birthday wishes.

I'm not sure I'll be able to get over this; it's pretty much the straw that's breaking the camel's back.

Obviously I don't know the whole history with your family but I'll tell you how I got over it...I asked them very specific questions! My parents knew how much not telling me had bothered me and we had a lot of "intense discussions" about it. Basically, I guilted my mom into telling me the truth about things after that.

You'll get over it 'cause you have to...they are your family. I finally realized that their intentions were good but their execution was horrendous!

Try to remember they did it out of love. It doesn't make it right or doesn't help you now but maybe it will after this scare is past.

I'll try and remember that, but this is just another thing that they've done on a long list of things over the past 3 years. I'm really losing my ability to forgive and forget.

Old cat (Abby) just got her first real glimpse of the kittens. I held a small crack in the door for her to look through and Emma was on the other side. Didn't go well. Abby hissed. No putting her back up or her ears back, but definitely not happy. I closed the door and she backed off and just sat there glaring at the door for awhile. She could still see the kitten a tiny bit from under the door.

This is going to be a very long process I think.


Hugs Nutty. I will keep your Grandma in my thoughts. And my family is the same way. My stepgrandmother was gone several weeks before anyone told me. I was in college and they didn't want to upset me. My Grandfather had open heart surgery and I found out a week later. Fortunately they did let me know when he finally passed so I could be there.

Much better, thanks. They were able to get his sugar level stabilized and sent him home on Sunday night. Before this happened he was going to see a new Dr. and ended up switching before he even saw her to the Dr. he had in the ER.

Good morning!

Slept in real late this morning. I'm pretty surprised. Woke up to about 6" of snow though. Yuck. Huge accident on the highway. Big pileup of cars, buses and tractor trailer trucks. Haven't heard of any major injuries though so that's good.

No big plans for me today. Just need to make a little time to go get a nail fixed that broke on Friday. That kinda sucks because I can't remember what color I used so I'm going to need to redo all of them. pffft.

Freecycle ROCKS! I posted a wanted for a cat tower last night and got a response this morning. DH went to pick it up and it is HUGE! It is a super deluxe cat condo/tower that goes almost to the ceiling! We will probably recover it at some point, but for now we are just trying to figure out where to put this sucker!

This thing was probably several hundred dollars new. I was just hoping to get a small 2 level thing for free. It is amazing the things that people are willing to just give away.

So today I quit smoking AGAIN. I had quit for 3 years, and foolishly restarted in August . I made a decision last night driving home from work, and although I know how hard it is to do, I am ready. I am just being a REALLY nasty person today. Both my kids are old enough to know why, and are being supportive. I am going to the mall today to do some shopping with them as DH is at work. I dropped 24 lbs since I re-started smoking and I don't want to put that back on. I know it is healthier than smoking, I could afford a few back on, but not ALL of it ..Let us see how that works out..

I hope you all have a good Sunday! I have our regular Sunday night In-law dinners, which make me feel so much worse than I already do. It is something I dread all day long.
