We have Moved (updated)

Hi ,

We have FINALLY sold our house after having it on the market for 7 months.

This was our second time selling and buying and the first time it seemed to go so well and smoothly. However this time we have been in a right mess, we found the house of our dreams and lost it, then found another house we liked and lost it again, but now we have finally exchanged contracts - now I know that selling and buying a house HAS to be one of the most stressful things ever!

I like Scotland's system of selling and buying (do they still do that) it is so much easier and straightforward.

So, 2 weeks today we will be moving in to a little village in East Devon (quite a long way - a big step for us), hopefully just in time to get settled in before the summer. It will be nice to 'get away' from the traffic and fast-paced life of up here. We have told ourselves, that after this experience we will NOT move again!

What a lovely place to move to. Did you hear about the report today in Country Life which says that Devon is the best county in the country to live and gets the most sunshine? We have spent many happy holidays there. Good luck with your move, hope it all goes smoothly.

I hate moving - it really is a very stressful experience, but so pleased to hear that finally you're on your way to sunny Devon - cream teas and all.

It's actually Friday, NWR.

It Got moved back a day for some unknown reason to do with the people buying our house.

I will be so happy when it is all over!

The computer is lying on the floor plugged in to the nearest power point and we are sorrounded by boxes that need to be unpacked! (Atleast we have some family round who can 'help' ) Oh, and we made sure the drink was handy, NWR

Joshua (DS/4) is already asking when we can go to the beach and our 2 Westies are enjoying the sunshine in the garden.

Hopefully we will be 'sort of' settled in soon.

BTW my brother also lives near Ottery-St-Mary, in Southerton. We've only visited him once, but really liked the area. I hope you settle in soon and are very happy in your new home .
