Hi there.. we are going to Orlando (mainly for Disney) first week of October.. thought about throwing Universal in there for a a day.. but we have a 2, almost 3 yr old (November).. and just us, so the 3 of us.. is it worth going to?? I want the trip to be about her.. and want the $$ we spend on our tickets to be worth it.

What are your thoughts? Is Nickelodeon still there? Dora stuff? Been years since I was there..

thanks so much!

DD, now 12, has always loved Universal :)
First time she visited she would have been around 3 years old.

Barney and Curious George are still big hits, as is Woody Woodpecker :thumbsup2

Now, of course, she's enjoying Men in Black and the Simpsons.......even been brave enough to venture into the dark to ride E.T and watch Shrek ........;)

We love it

I looked it up online and there's plenty for them to do, IMO. I can't wait to go, she'll love the Nickelodeon and Seuss stuff.

Dr Seuss, yes, how could I forget............Dare I say we spend more time in Universal than at Disney......?:thumbsup2

We only went to IoA for Harry Potter but our DD3 liked Dr. Seuss land. She was also tall enough at 36.5" to ride Flight of the Hippogriff in the WWOHP. Our DS, 18 months, was able to ride most of the rides in Dr. Seuss like the Carousel and One Fish Two Fish and The Cat In The Hat.

We only stayed until about 1:30 so didn't really explore the rest of the IoA because our main reason for going was WWOHP

I really wished I would have gone to UO while my kids were still that little. IMO there is a lot more to do at IOA and US for toddlers than 3 of disney parks combined (excluding Magic Kingdom) There are numerous play areas that my kids were too old to start with once we took them to UO. The one in Jurassic park is still a big hit though. The theming is great and lots of dinosaur interactive things to play with. The Discovery Center in Jurassic park also has a cute "show" where a dinosaur is being born and hatching from it's egg. Also in IOA there is a Popeye play area that little ones seem to enjoy. In US the KidZone has lots of water play and kiddie rides. Take them you'll have a great time!

The Nickoledeon Studios are no longer there but they do have Dora, Sponge Bob and several characters for her to see that my DD still loves when we go. We have been going for years and she is now almost 8 and so even though she wants to see the Nick characters she was really excited for the Mummy and those scarier rides this time.

But for a toddler, there is plety to see and do that the kids will love. They have play areas in both parks with water areas for them to play with. DD loves the talking fountain in LC and then Suess Landing is a must for all ages.

Over at the Studios they have a great kids area with Barney, Woody WoodPecker and then the Madagascar characters show up throughout the day as well. Depending on how brave and how tall she is there are lots of other things that she might want to do as well.
