We has dinner with Princesses at Akershus - Review

Wanted to share with everyone our dining experience with the princess at Akershus.

What was your experience like? We really enjoyed ours, even with 2 boys that were not into princesses at all..

we have never done Akershus for dinner ...but have loved the breakfast there...

I had lunch at Akershus with my daughter, granddaughter and daughter's mother-in-law earlier this month. My granddaughter loved all the different princesses that came to the table (and Belle was greeting). I thought the buffet was wonderful, so many nice choices of appetizers, cheeses, salads, meats, etc. I could easily have gone back for another plate, but...they required you to order an entree. I ordered the salmon and thought it was quite dry. And the way they did the dessert was just...odd. Our server brought a large plate that had a big portion of rice pudding, along with a piece of apple cake, and a triangle shape piece of chocolate mousse. She brought 4 small bowls and 4 spoons and we had to divide everything ourselves. We just thought that was so strange.

DH and I ate at Akershus years ago before it was a princess buffet and we really, really enjoyed having a full buffet and being able to choose whatever we wanted. If the restaurant were to go back to that format I would love to eat there again (for the caramel goat cheese alone!) but with it being a princess buffet and ordering an entree, we'll skip it.

May I ask when you had this meal? I was on one of the websites and I didn't see the lamb on the menu anymore. That is my DS's favorite and I was looking at booking here so he could have it this trip.

We had dinner there in 2013, I also had the lamb very yummy. I think it was my dh's favorite princess dinner. Belle is his favorite princess lol!
