This is shyboy72s fiancée again
I just wanted to tell our story of what led to us canceling our trip to the happiest place on earth this summer.
About two weeks before May had started, shyboy72 was complaining of headaches. He thought that maybe he had a concussion from getting hit in the head by a paintball while he was at a paintball tournament. We scheduled a doctor appointment to make sure. He had 2 CT scans because the first time they said they needed to do another. When he had first arrived at the hospital everyone was acting kind of cold and indifferent to him. After the second scan they began to be nice and attentive, which was a little scary. They then wanted to schedule him for an MRI. When the results came in, the doctor said that shboy72 had a tumor in his brain. At the age of 23, this was quite a shock to him and all of his family.
Right away, the doctors were scheduling appointments left and right to make sure of what they were looking at. A week later, he had surgery to have the 5 cm tumor taken out of his brain. It ended up being about the size of an egg. They had to keep him awake most of the time because the tumor was located at the speech center of his brain. We were all so scared about this because there might be a chance that he would lose some of his speaking capabilities. By the grace of god, the surgery was a success. They had taken out a little more than 90% of the tumor out and he had minor hiccups in his language. The tumor ended up being a low grade slow growing tumor so that is wonderful news. He was in the hospital for 3 days and later released back to his home.
Unfortunately he is not up to speed yet for a fun packed weekend at Disneyland, so we had to cancel our trip for the 3rd weekend of June. Its a small sacrifice for having my man healthy
For now, hes watching a bunch of episodes of Disney specials on the travel channel and watching movies to satisfy his Disney fix. All I can think is of how strong he is and how much I love and admire him. Ideally, Id love to get married at Disneyland !!!!! but unfortunately, me being a waitress/college student and him working on cars, that wont be possible. For now, Im thinking of the Disney Cruise as a honeymoon
Well see what happens.
