We had a visitor last night...open at your own risk!

It must have been the tarantula's mate, looking for other one. :scared1:

Back in the good ole days when I was 18 and young and carefree I was camping with my then BF and his family at Lake San Antonio. BF's brother had found a tarantula one day in our camp site and sent it down the hill...or so we thought. Later that night I went up in to our tent which was up on a hill to get a change of clothes out of my suitcase to take to the showers. It was dark inside the tent and I did not have the flashlight on while searching with my hands in my suitcase for my clothes but you know how you see something move in the dark? Well my gut told me to turn on the flashlight and sure enough that turantula was crawling around in my suitcase:scared1:!! I don't think I have ever screamed so loud in my entire life because a crowd came running to my rescue including the guy from the campsite next door:rotfl:. Lesson learned: always keep your suitcase zipped closed and tent zipped closed when camping:rolleyes1.

One other thing-I don't camp anymore;)

Another one???? :eek::eek:

Are you packing yet? No way I could deal with that.. Is this a common in your neck of the woods?

O...M...G!!!!! He's baaaaaaaack!:scared1::eek::scared1:

I was hoping not to ever see it again.:eek: The first night I wasn't too bothered by it, but tonight it was RIGHT UP AGAINST THE FRONT DOOR!! That's just a bit too close for my liking. My husband and daughter went out for ice cream (yes, again:rotfl:) and when they got back I heard a tap on the door and went over to open it. I looked down and the tarantula was right there. If he had moved forward, he would have stepped right inside.:scared1:

I quickly shut the door, and shot my husband a horrified look through the window. I shouted at him, asking him why in the heck he knocked on the door. He yelled back that he tapped on the window so I would look out first and NOT open the door. The two of them were standing outside pointing toward the garage so that I would open the garage door for them to enter the house.

I couldn't stand knowing that the tarantula was right outside the door, so I went out with a broom to shoo him away. I shooed him all the way across the street to an area without houses. Yeah, I still can't believe I did that!:eek: Nobody else was willing to do it, and I just had to get rid of it.

I had read somewhere that tarantulas can not climb walls or move very fast. Well, let me state for the record that tarantulas CAN climb walls and they CAN move fast!!!! This one did both.

The good news is that he is now far away. The bad news is that we all agree that it wasn't the same tarantula that was here the other night.

I seriously am not liking this.:sad2:

:scared1: When I read this I thought IT had knocked on the door:lmao:

Same here - like tapping on a screen door or something. Yikes!

Anyone know if those plug ins that project some super high pitched beeping keep these suckers away or is it just mice?
