For our area, a tornado is something that happens once in a lifetime. We live up in the mountains, where there are maybe 2 flat areas. One had a winery and the other was a small farm.
Well, you guessed it, the tornado went straight for those two areas. It was a severe thunderstorm which turned into a tornado. We got the severe thunderstorm part, but the tornado hit a few towns over. Thank God no one got hurt and everyone's houses are okay, albeit some minor damage. There are A LOT of trees down though. It is just so bizarre because we are so high above sea level, tornadoes rarely ever happen here. I now have full sympathy for those who live in Tornado Alley/Lane/?.
ETA: The National Weather Service says it was an EF2 twister. Whatever that means.
