Hopefully no one with a weak stomach will be near us in Dec. because my youngest child throws up without even thinking it's bad. It's not because she is ILL.....it's because she has anxiety and it's her only way of releasing this anxiety. I have done everything in the book to try to overcome this including medicine and being seen by a counselor but nothing has worked. I'll be sure to carry a sign around letting people know she has this problem....NOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I will not cancel my vacation or anything else because of this. We deal with it the best we can and hope everyone else can understand.

That must be awful for you ! I hope it gets sorted, Good Luck

OP: They probably took so long to move you because HELLO it was the Rose and Crown during the fireworks. DUH.

Your children would not have "caught" anything from the vomit unless they digested it. Vomit does not emit airborne viruses. Please don't let your kids eat vomit.

The CMs were acting like NO BIGGY because they probably clean up puke 10 times a day. It's DISNEYWORLD. You seem to have preferred they run around with their hands in the air, freaking out.

What- you can't step over sawdust vomit? I guarantee you have owrse things on the bottom of your shoes after a day at a park.

You win Most Annoying and Entitled-sounding Guest of the Day.
WOW you were SO kind.

That's not what your first post said.

Your original post says...

According to, well... you - you didn't ask to be moved, you asked if someone threw up.

Then you wrote...

Capital letters generally means yelling. Which isn't the same as being extremely quiet. Stars (****) generally mean swearing.

Maybe you can see where people are coming from when they think you may have over-reacted slightly.

As DisneyMomx7 wrote, you might want to check your original post.

OMG, are you a lawyer??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: If not you should be !!

I'm someone who's pet hate is "vomit"... my stomach just can't handle it, I wish I were stronger. I would never blame anyone who was sick, it's not their fault if I can't handle it. In a way I blame you for staying at the restaurant, if you really can't stand puke you should have left. I would have been out of there before you could blink !

If a child had vomited near me, and it bothered me, I would have quietly asked to be moved, and if my request wasn't met, I'd have left the restaurant, having orderd or not. And, yes, I would have stepped over the offending vomit to do so.

If I chose to stay, then I would have ignored the situation as best I could.

I would imagine that WDW CMs clean up vomit multiple times every day, so to them, it's not as big of an issue as it is to you.

I would not have made a scene or made the child feel badly. I am sure that the kid was probably embarrassed enough.

If it were my child who vomited, sick or not, I would have left the restaurant. Maybe I would have stayed at Epcot and tried to find an IllumiNations viewing spot out side somewhere, but I would have left the restaurant. It would really depend on why the child had vomited...were they sick or was it just one of those gag vomits which, while your child may not do it, a lot of children do.

As far as clean-up, I would assume there are health department rules as to how that sort of thing has to be handled, and what chemicals or cleaning agents have to be used, so smelly or not, that's life.

As others have said, if you reread your original post, it does not come off that you were "quiet or discreet". Maybe you were "expounding" a bit on the post for literary effect, but remember, on the computer, we cannot read your tone or expressions, so the written word is all we have to go by.

ALLYCAT - On all of my daughters reservations and Dining AR we have her allergies listed even a strong Perfume can send her into respiratory distress. We eat in out door areas for this reason. She is only 18 months old so she can not tell me how she is feeling. For them to just react to the situation and not think about the other diners on the patio was dangerous. Because if I was there with my DD I would if given the option leave the restaurant (which they did not give the other diners) I would have walked over the throw up because the chemicals would be harmful to my daughter. I do think the CM could have been more understanding I dont know of anyone who would want to eat near vomit! They should have been moved ASAP! If no tables were available given the option to leave and come back in a 1/2 hr when the mess was cleaned up. not expected to sit their eating their fish N Chips whith a side of Vomit.

Also let me say this : We always go to WDW because of the way they handle my children's special needs and their allergies. The chefs come out and talk to us. I can totally relax because I know things are taken care of. Now I have to watch for the chemicals they throw on the ground.

"Things should have been handled differently"

Ok, what do you propose? I understand your prediciment but what else can they do? They need to clean it up. By finding you a table, they allow the vomit to stay on the floor longer so other people get to stay in clear view of it.

I just personally dont see how it could have been handled differently on their part. If you had that much of a problem, you could have left, gone to the hostess stand, asked for your check for your table, then paid and left. I've done that before.

BTW (found this out from the puke boy incident) vomit is called a PROTEIN SPILL at WDW.

Just reading this post is making my stomach queasy.....I'm a mom of 3 but still gag when I have to clean up vomit! I know that my appetite would have been completely ruined had I been there but that's life.....kids vomit and most of the time we never know when or where it's going to happen! We had just sat down in a restaurant and were ordering when my dd (4 at the time) threw up all over the table. (no it wasn't at WDW) I proceeded to wipe up as much as I could, apologized to the server, and left the restaurant. My dd was mortified and still refuses to go back to that restaurant (she's 6 now).

I wonder what people would do in this other circumstance. My sister was sitting down at Toy Story Pizza Planet to enjoy her pizza. On the table beside them a mother proceeded to change the dirty diaper of her older baby on top of the table...and we're talking about a very filled diaper here! After changing the diaper the family sat down and ate their meal on that same table without even wiping it off. What's even worse when they left shortly thereafter they left the dirty diaper behind!

I would have just left, But from what I understand the OP was not aware of the Vomit until the chemicals were put down, by that point it would have been to late for me to leave, the damage would have already been done to my DD. I know this is OT it just gave me another concern and something to watch out for when at WDW.

Wow...You know that is just an inconsiderate mother/father. But the way i see it is, you obviously can't change the way they think. So move, and dont let them get the better of you. Thats how i see it.

Actually, it's not off-topic and i see your point. Unfortunately, i think the way that Disney sees it is "We can either poll the entire patio and see how many people have problems with these chemicals while at the same time stinking up the place, or we could just clean up the mess and save a ton of complaints."

Understandably, we'd all want disney to cater to us, it just cant be done. Now, the OP didn't mention anything related to medical problems. I'm not discounting your DDs respiratory problems. I'm just stating that this presents somewhat of a different issue.

Cheers!

IMO it was nice of the staff to try to cheer her up(by starting fireworks), but their efforts were not helped by an adult treating her like she was infected with the black plague.

::yes:: i agree with this one hundred percent.

I don't know why but calling it "protein spill" doesn't make me feel as queasy as "vomit" and it sounds soooo funny! I mean think about it....sawdust covered ground.....you can either go....."grosssssss!!!! vomit!" or "oh dear...just a little protein spill!"

Thanks for the laugh! :rotfl2:

I agree with most everyone else. I don't have kids and used to gag when I had to clean up my cat's hairballs (she's since passed away), but things happen. Kids puke, and if it had been me when I was little I would have been bawling out of embarrassment. of course if my kid were actually ill I would have left, it's no fun to be a miserably sick kid in a restaurant. But if I knew my child wasn't ill and was already horribly embarassed, I would make a concerted effort to let her know that it was ok, not a big deal and not her fault- leaving the restaurant would feel like a punishment. Of course I would feel awful as a parent that my kid caused something unpleasant to other diners, but what can you do? The puke's already there and I would of course clean it up. I would hope other diners would show my family kindness and not make us feel like lepers because of the unfortunate incident!

blech! that is just so wrong on so many levels!!!!

Wow, I'm surprised by the responses.

I have a very sensitive stomach and can't deal with puke. I mean I CAN if it's dd's but I have a lot of trouble not puking along with her when it happens. And if dh is home, well, she's daddy's girl then lol.

I would have been bothered by it too and asked for a different table or for it to get cleaned up faster. However I do understand those that say a kid can puke and be just fine a few minutes later. My nephew is that way with a very sensitive gag reflex. For the first two-three years of his life we joked about how he would puke whenever we went out to eat. Thankfully it was more of a heavy spit up and most times my sister would manage to get something in front of him and keep it from being a big mess. That didn't bother me too much and I don't think most other diners were ever even aware of it.

Anyway I see your point.

Lol...you poor thing. Your daughter must love that :)

Color me confused... I haven't figured out WHAT the OP wanted the restaurant to do? What is the point to this thread? They moved them as they requested, they comped a meal, what did she want? If it was that bad, why didn't she just leave? Why throw a fit and then race here and throw a fit online as well? She was obviously bent out of shape over it. How did R&C fail at their job so badly?

I just don't get it. No one enjoys eating around puke either but I can't imagine ruining my family's evening because of it. It's life - get up and move if it bothers you. Walk out of the restaurant. Send your family out and stop at the hostess desk and ask for a manager and tell them why you're leaving. Request an inside table and move to it immediately. Why wait?

Why didn't you do those things?

*scratching my head...*
