When I got home from work last night the phone rang (gotta love caller id) Disney was on the other end stating that they were going to move us. We had an inside on 2 and they moved us to an outside on 6. We have connecting rooms and they moved both together something we never expected. Isn't Disney nice:) :Pinkbounc

What great news. Congratulations.

Question: Did you book through a travel agent, or straight through DCL? My DH and I booked through DVC. I'm hooping beyond hope that we get upgraded. We also reserved a room at CBR, and got upgraded (very cheeply) to a savannah view room (aren't they all?) at AKL

We booked it last year when we were on the 4 night and we really wanted to do the Western 7 night. Originally we booked it for this coming December to include my dad, mother, sister and neice. However, in April my mother passed away and we decided that doing a cruise close to her birthday would not be the greatest, so I was able to move it into May 2003. So I guess the answer to your question was that we booked directly with DCL.

Cinderella, you got upgraded for a May 2003 cruise, did I read that correctly? That is VERY unusual, I have never heard of anyone being upgraded for free that far in advance. Congrats! :)

Yes you read it correctly. I thought I was dreaming when they called. Then the next thought was that it was only my room and not the other. But DCL said they were upgrading both rooms. What a nice way to end the day. It will be my dad, sister, and neice's first cruise and our second. I have been trying to get the information together for the vow renewal for my husband and myself. We were going to celebrate our 10th last year Sept 13 but we couldn't due to him working at the Pentagon and was relocated to other offices. So we talked it over and have decided that this would be great with our DD9 to be there as well as my family.

I got to work this morning and there was a message from last night that we were upgraded from a secret porthole (cat 10) to a catagory 8. We are not going until September 2003! It was listed on the website before hand, so I knew, but now it is confirmed!! We have connecting rooms with our friends, its great,

Does anyone know if I want to upgrade, do I pay from the cat 10 or the cat 8? I would like to try to get a navigators verandah...... My husband is going to kill me....

We book when we were onboard the inaugural western in May, so I don't know if booking onboard plays into the picture. Anyone else going to be on the 9/20/03 Eastern???

My understanding is that you pay the difference in what you previously PAID and the new price.
These upgrades into next year and with adjoining staterooms are pretty mind-boggling.

We booked a secret porthole room for the 10/25/2003 Western Caribbean cruise. What website will show me our reservation?

If you go to www.disneycruise.com and click on the reservation button, there will be a place to check on an existing reservation, you will need your reservation # and the phone # you gave them. This will open a copy of your reservation and show you the room # you are in. Make sure you check what catagory the room is in, for example my reservation still said I was in cat 10, but it was room 7006 which is a cat 8!
Good Luck!

My best guess is that Disney has a group on those sailings in 2003 and wants cabins together. They are moving the people in the cabins that already have reservations.

Remember, your reservation will only be on that site if you booked directly through DCL and did not transfer your reservation to a TA.

tigger 24.

I would recommend waiting until you get to the port to try to upgrade to a navigator veranda. Of course the availability of a navigator may be limited at the port, but they will base the price from the room you were assigned to the room you want (the rate will be rack rate too). If you change rooms now, it will be considered a cancellation of one ressie with the previous paid amount applied to the new ressie. Not only will you loose the upgrade, but you will also loose any incentive pricing you received.

Hi Robin,
Thanks so much for the info, we will wait until we get to the port. I would love to have any kind of verandah, but just getting this free upgrade was a thrill.....Can't seem to find any Diser's with us. I guess I'll have to wear my tye-dye inaugural western all by myself:(

Thanks again,
Bernadette
