Hi
For those of you that remember, I posted not too long ago about wondering whether to get a new cat after one of our two passed away in April 2011. Well I took the advice of those who said to get a new cat and we rescued one from our local Humane Society last week!
We are so happy with him, he is a 8 month old red and white neutered male, with claws. So pretty and so good with our kids! He loves them and loves playing with them. Our 10 year female was reluctant at first but we kept them apart for the first few days as recommended by the shelter. We were worried but when we finally introduced them face to face it was not that bad!
She hissed a bit but she is definetly perked up a bit. He wants to play with her alot but he takes the hint when she hisses at him. He just grumbles and turns and walks away! So cute...
So thanks for the advice...it has worked out great so far!

Glad he is a good fit for your family and thanks for rescuing a shelter kitty
I will try and post a pic, it happened I promise!
We keep getting new cats to keep our cats company when we've lost one (the past 3 cats have been "company" cats).
