Hi

For those of you that remember, I posted not too long ago about wondering whether to get a new cat after one of our two passed away in April 2011. Well I took the advice of those who said to get a new cat and we rescued one from our local Humane Society last week!
We are so happy with him, he is a 8 month old red and white neutered male, with claws. So pretty and so good with our kids! He loves them and loves playing with them. Our 10 year female was reluctant at first but we kept them apart for the first few days as recommended by the shelter. We were worried but when we finally introduced them face to face it was not that bad!
She hissed a bit but she is definetly perked up a bit. He wants to play with her alot but he takes the hint when she hisses at him. He just grumbles and turns and walks away! So cute...

So thanks for the advice...it has worked out great so far!:goodvibes

Glad it worked out! I bet your older cat with be glad for the company! Such a hard choice to make, keep the one cat loney for fear of upsetting them with a new cat OR get a new one and hope they end up friends.

I am glad you made the right choice for your furbabies!

I am so technically unskilled, sadly I do not know how to do that yet...sorry pathedic I know:sad2:

Congrats on your new furbaby :cat: Glad he is a good fit for your family and thanks for rescuing a shelter kitty :thanks:

Good luck with your new kitten.:) We keep getting new cats to keep our cats company when we've lost one (the past 3 cats have been "company" cats). :cat::cat::cat::cat: (RIP Mugsy and Boo Boo, we still have Junior and Brody).
PS There is a link to show how to post pics on the Dis on the "Welcome to the Dis." The tutorial is by Webmaster Will and that's how I learned.

I'm very happy for you. He sounds like a sweetheart. :)

A year too late but here are the pics!

Thanks!! Just wanted to show some pics to prove it did happen! LOL!;)

And that you learned how to get pics into your posts! :thumbsup2

They are so cute! It's not always easy to make that decision, but I'm glad it has worked out for you and your other kitty.
