We just got back from WDW Sunday. We were fortunate enough to win the best dream we could have asked for and an experience we will NEVER forget. (As soon as I get my pics back later this week, I will post some.)
Saturday being our last day, we decided to spend it in MK. About 1:30, DH, DD6 and I were making our way through Adventureland, on the way to ride POTC. We crossed paths with a lone Dream Team member named Kim. She stopped and talked to DD who was wearing a lanyard filled with Pirate pins and was playing with a toy sword she'd gotten a few minutes earlier. They looked at each other's pins and DD told her that if she saw Cpt. Jack or Cpt. Hook or Peter Pan, she was going to get them with her sword. (She has ALWAYS favored the Peter Pan gang.)
Dream Teamer Kim asked her if she'd like to go on an adventure. She took DD by the hand and led us to an off set area beside POTC. She and my daughter had a quick sword fight, and in a few minutes, Cpt. Jack's assistant Mack came over, spent a few minutes w/ DD and taught her how to be a pirate.
A few more minutes passed as we all sat on a bench and chatted--Kim made my daughter laugh because she was 'scared' of all the rides DD had ridden 'in the front.' Then, Hook and Smee strolled by, stopped to play with DD, who beat Hook in a sword/hook duel. A few more minutes and Peter Pan and Wendy strolled up. A few of the CM's blocked off the area and DD played with Wendy and Peter Pan for 15 minutes or so. She was thrilled!
She asked her new friend Kim if she could ride POTC with her. She said sure!
She took us in a back entrance to POTC, bypassing the line and we all sat in the front, where DD protected the boat with her sword.
We got off the ride and Kim asked if she'd ridden the Jungle Cruise yet (we hadn't) and asked if she'd like to. She took us again to the front of the line and climbed on board with us. Towards the end of the ride, the skipper asked DD if she'd like to drive the boat. DD was embarrassed and said "No, I can't drive!" (Which the entire 'crew' found very funny.) She 'drove' us for the rest of the ride.
We got off the ride, where DT Member Kim gave DD a Magical Moments certificate for being an "Honorary Pirate." Then, she took us to one of the ice cream carts and told us to get anything we wanted. (Water all around.) We all cooled off with some of the mister sprayers, then DD asked her if she would ride just one more ride, so we all hopped on Aladdin's Carpets. Afterwards, we all spent some time checking out the 'Diamonds' in the concrete at the ride's exit. Kim helped DD 'magically' find a loose 'purple diamond' that she got to keep.
Then, she took us to the front of the line to meet Geenie.
Afterwards, it was time for us to head out for lunch, so she walked with us all the way to the front gates. Where we all hugged good-bye. A hot and tired DD looked at me and said, "Mommy, that Miss Kim was surely very nice and fun."
My daughter is still talking about her and that is the first thing she mentions when asked about her trip--Kim made us feel like we were the only people in the park. It was truly the most amazing time that we have ever had in the world and we will never forget it.
