last weekend and are not leaving until the 27th. Said this on the other thread, but I definatly think you should call. If they were somehow doing them alpha, our last name starts w/ an S. :flower: Just an FYI so everyone gets theirs! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Not to doubt you but are you sure that they are ME luggage tags or are they from having a package and have Tinkerbelle on them. If they are for ME that is great for you. I hope that I get ours soon.

That is great. I only asked because a few people were posting that they had them and they were just the Tink ones and not for ME.

What do the ME Tags look like( what's on them)?

Lucky you! Could you answer a question for me? My husband has been trying to figure out exactly how ME is going to work so he has been wondering if the ME tags take the place of the regular bar-coded tags that the airline puts on the bags when you check in at the airport. So, do the ME tags look like regular heavy paper airline baggage routing tags? Does the info you got from Disney tell you whether these tags are used instead of airline tags? or are they in addition to the tags the airlines put on the bags? Do they attach the same way, i.e. do you remove some part of the backing on the tag where there is some sticky stuff that "glues" the two ends of the tag together around the handle of your suitcase?

Sorry for all the questions, but my DH has been bugging me about this since I first told him about ME.

Thanks!

I received my ME tickets too. There are 2 per person and they look like the airline ones only they are bright yellow and say what hotel you are staying at. It says on the back of the ticket to attach the ticket around the handle of your luggage. I also got today new luggage tags with the"Happest Celebration on Earth on them.

Thanks very much for the info. OK, so these do not take the place of the airline's routing tags. We'll end up with two tags on each bag, a white one from the airline and the yellow ME tag. Glad they made them a different color so that the folks at the airline don't tear them off, thinking they are old airline routing tags from a previous trip!

I see you are leaving May 7th and it seems most of the people who got tags within the last couple of days are leaving May 5th, 6th or 7th. I leave on the 8th, so I'm hoping I'm next in the queue to receive my ME tags!

Thanks again!

No, sorry, those are not your DME tags (you say you're not arriving 'til May 27). Those are just the regular luggage tags WDTC sends out to EVERYONE who books through them, even people who drive. Your DME tags will be sent no more than 21 days in advance, and look very different.

And to respond to another poster, yes, you will still have an airline/TSA sticky paper tag on your luggage, in addition to the DME tag you put on at home. The one that gets put on at your airport tells the airport personnel whcih plane to put the bags on. The DME tag tells people at MCO to pull your tag and get it to Disney folk.

Thanks, Eric. With all the disussions about what's going to happen behind the scenes at MCO with ME-destined bags, I was curious exactly what is on those tags and whether they might even replace the normal airline routing tag (i.e., contain all the usual name, flight info, barcode that the airline prints on their tags plus some Disney-specific info). But for security reasons I couldn't imagine the airline would be comfortable letting passengers put routing tags on their own bags.

Well, this is certainly going to be interesting. As an engineer, I know all too well that things don't always work perfectly when you put a new application into production. As one of the early adopters of the ME service, I'll have my fingers crossed!

These kind of luggage tags have been used by the cruise industry for years with no problems.
When we cruise we always put our cruise tags on our luggage and don't see any of it again till we board the ship and our luggage turns up in our cabin.

TSA is very familliar with them and won't remove them. Just make sure you remove them before you come home or your luggage will be returning to disney....LOL

Wow, good call! I would have forgotten to dot hat. Oh my gosh, can you imagine?

Question: I thought I heard ME only provides one tag per person, is this correct? I am sure we wont bring more than one suitcase pp on the flight but I just want to be sure.

Also, when you're using ME, obviously your bring your carry on's with you. When you check into the hotel, prior to check in time, can you leave your carry-on's with the front desk to take with your luggage?

We are leaving on the 8th too. I called yesterday because my itinerary did not include my transportation at all! Took care of it and the CM said they would be expressed to me.

You got yours? We are leaving on the 16th and have not gotten them. Although we just got out regular vacation stuff with normal luggage tags yesterday so may ours are coming.

ohh, I wonder when we'll get ours...we're leaving May 30th...:) I'll have to watch the mail now.

Quick question though, we booked ours through AAA, we're supposed to go meet with our agent later on to get all our tickets and stuff...will we get the tags then, or will they still come in the mail like how everyone else is getting theirs??

We went through AAA...did it all on the phone, never went to an office. They mailed our vacation package with regular luggage tags, AAA diamond card, etc. Then there was a slip stating the Magical Express vouchers and luggage tags will come in a separate package that would be mailed 21 days prior to departure.

Thanks for that info. I've never taken a cruise so I didn't know that your luggage is handled for you. It makes me feel more confident that things will run smoothly, even for those of us who will be among the first to give this a try.
