We got back for Christmas!!

Hi everyone, we had fantastic time at the DLH and arrived home on Christmas Eve in good time too. We travelled down on Sunday 19th and stayed overnight in Folkestone because of the weather but we didn't see any snow on the drive until we got to Folkestone.

Eurotunnel was delayed by half an hour but nothing to moan about. In france on the drive to disney we did see some lorries facing the wrong way and in ditches but luckily we weren't affected and arrived in just over 3 hours at the disneyland hotel. We were worried about the drive back but that was also ok on the roads and eurotunnel running on time. Once back in the UK we hardly saw any traffic on the M25! Got back about 6pm just in time for Santa

We all had an amazing time and the snow only stopped us doing things on the Thursday 23rd. Hoping to do a trip report soon when we are back to normal after the Christmas madness!

Had some lovely meals and some not quite so and ended up spending a small fortune but we loved it all so it was worth it

We now all love Big Thunder Mountain!! It was our 5 year old daughters favourite ride. I couldn't believe it but she smiled and squealed all the way round.

Had fab views from our room across the front of the hotel but could also see the Christmas tree on main st to the left. We spent quite a lot of time just relaxing in the hotel lounge and eating and felt really at home there, it was absolutley lovely

We didn't like Silver Spur Steakhouse. The service was way too slow, we had to keep trying to find a waiter to ask if we could order etc and my meal was awful. Don't think hubby was too impressed with his steak either as he didn't leave a tip which is very unusual! They were mad busy and the whole thing was very hectic and not enjoyable at all

But, on a better note we loved Walts and had the round table directly in the window on the corner of the restaurant Our waiter was excellent and obviously loved his job, we put him on the exceptional cast member bit on the questionnaire along with a waitress we had a lot at cafe fantasia.

Forgot to ask, how do I delete my ticker thing? It took me so long to work it out now I don't know how to get rid of it!!

i have eaten in the silver spur twice. the first time was midweek in feb. it was very quiet we had lovely good quality and good value for money meal.

the second time was on a sunday night in march. the restaurant was heaving, our waiter was terrible and the food was ok if im being nice about it. we were very dissapointed after that meal. i dont think they cope well during busy periods.

have to agree with you about walts. its now a must do on our trips. the only downside is my three year old wants the steak there, she said she would swap meals with me, how generous of her

im glad it was mostly positive for you, you are paying enough for the meals without them being bad

Glad you had a great time - think you had the best idea staying in Folkestone on the Sunday and driving through France on the Monday - we went all the way on the Sunday and it was ............interesting

Forgot to ask, how do I delete my ticker thing? It took me so long to work it out now I don't know how to get rid of it!!

Go into USER CP at the top left of the page then EDIT SIGNATURE on the left, then delete the ticker thingy from your signature.

Hope it won't be too long before you can put a new ticker up. I always delete mine before we go as I can't bear to come home and see it saying X many days since we left!

Mommy2ash - Yes that's exactly what we think, if you are paying so much for a meal you expect it to be edible and pleasant!! We don't mind paying it if it is.

And yes I do need to get rid of the ticker as I don't like seeing how long it is since we have been back either! Thanks I will go and try and delete.

Glad to hear you had a nice trip. I love Walt's too it's a lovely resturant, especialy when you get a window seat at Parade time.

I'm quite fussy in resturants and if the meal is not edible I will send it back. Never had that problem so far at DLP.

Yeah I probably should have sent mine back as it wasn't very good at all. My husbands steak was ok, it was mainly the lack of any service he was annoyed at. I think we were tired after a long day driving on snowy roads and had only arrived that afternoon, our daughter was very emotional because she was tired and we should probably just have eaten at the hotel and gone straight to bed in hindsight!

Nevermind though, we enjoyed the holiday overall very much and after a stressed Christmas back at home with my parents staying with us we think going over the Christmas period might be a good idea Better start saving up!
