I am so excited I got a lunch reservation!!:cool1::dance3::yay::woohoo: But now we have to try and figure out what is good. So please give me your suggestions on what you think is the best and why. TIA

subscribing here. . .

My husband and I have lunch ADRs for early November. We've never eaten at Le Cellier before-----so just looking forward to a new restaurant on our itinerary. From some reviews I've already read, I think I'm more apt to try the burger or shaved steak sandwich. . .vs. the filet. But who knows. . .we'll only know what 'sounds good' when we get there . . .

But, I am curious to read the responses to your inquiry. . . popcorn::

My favorites are the Mushroom Filet and the burger....best on site IMO

DH likes the cheese soup...too strong for me.

We go every trip...our favorite TS

The filet was great. Hated the prime rib sandwich, it was heavy and greasy. Also hated the lunch poutine. The duck meatballs were a delicious appetizer.

I also have a ressie here for lunch in November. Can't wait to hear the suggestions!

filet with risotto- it was so yummy. Risotto is a lot of work so rare at restaurants. Steak was good but I am going back for risotto. Creme brulee is also excellant.

My husband recently got the filet for lunch and really loved it. My daughter and I were with him, and both had meals that were over-cooked, over-salted, and at best, mediocre.

So... I'd say stick with the filet! That seems to be the consensus for Le Cellier! (And now I'm apparently a poet....:rotfl:)

And...what would you order if you had a particular aversion to mushrooms:rolleyes1:rolleyes1, since I'm going to be dining at Le Cellier for the first time, myself. It's the first time in 7 trips I've been able to get an ADR, so I am excited to go. It's just the whole mushroom thing :confused3

We go for lunch every trip and all usually order the filet and have never been disappointed. If you do not like mushrooms, order it with the cream cheese mashed potatoes-very yummy-usually 1 or 2 of us do that anyway! Love their maple creme brulee!! Hope you have a good experience!!:goodvibes

While others here have suggested the mushroom filet, I'm going to suggest the N.Y. Strip. Personally with me I want to taste the streak and with the strip steak you will. The mushroom filet for me is way to salty, the sauce is like a soup poured over it, and the risotto had the quality of Minute Rice; just not a big fan of the mushroom filet and under all this the steak gets lost. IMHO.

I'll be honest, I am not a big fan of Le Cellier. However, the NY strip I did like. Congrats on snagging a lunch ADR and I hope your experience is a good one. ;)

If you're hungry, go for a full entree. I like the burger. You can also split a burger if you're not starving.

M favorite thing to do, however, is order a cup of soup and a side. I like the creamed spinach and the mashed potatoes (mac and cheese if they still have it, but I heard it was gone :( ) This plus the bread is plenty of a meal for lunch for me.

I do not like mushrooms....I ordered the filet with the mashed potatoes and really enjoyed it....YUM! My DS(12) also ordered the same thing and he is a picky eater. Whenever I ask him where he wants to eat when we go back to Disney he always says Le Cellier. He was so proud of me for getting that ressie after months of trying :)

For apps we usually get the soup, but have also had the crab/corn cake one and dh had the tomato stack.

I usually get the steak sand. Its not like the old prime rib sand. they used to have, its different now. Much better. Dh likes the filet.

For dessert last month I had the sorbet which was passionfruit I think. It was horribly sour. Sent it back and they subbed a rasberry once which was so much better. I have had the berry cobbler thing which was terrible, we both thought the maple creme brule was way too sweet. The whiskey cake was really good.

For sides dh tried the poutine. It looked gross to me, something like cheese fries, aka heart attack on a plate. The serving was really huge though. He shared with our friend.

We also have a lunch adr for Nov. 29 and I know I am definetely getting the soup and whiskey cake if its still there. The entree I will have to think about.

I want the maple creme brulee, that sounded good :)

I like NY strip:lovestruc

I didn't think of substituting anything. I will probably do the filet with mashed potatoes. Or the NY strip. As long as I don't have to have mushrooms, I'm good :rotfl:

Thanks for all the well wishes :) I can't wait to go!

I don't like mushrooms either and got the filet with mashed potatoes. The filet was melt in your mouth delicious! I also ordered the poutine...super yummy! My friends loved the creamed spinach- not so much for me. The tomato stack was good, but so not worth $9.

I love both the Filet and the Strip. I also love the burger. For an appetizer the sausage polenta and the cheese soup are amazing. Dessert Maple Creme Brulee.

No, I'm not about creamed spinach, either. Or any veggie with a cream sauce or cheese sauce on them. I like vegetables just fine, but without all the extras, thanks :)

I'm thinking it's definitely going to be filet and mashed.

Had our first lunch there just a few days ago. So I can't comment on the previous sandwich, but what is served now is an open face cheese steak and it's huge. It's shaved steak not prime rib. My son ordered it and try as he might......he couldn't finish it. Couldn't figure out how to eat it either. :lmao: Of course he also ate a full bowl and a half of the cheddar cheese soup too. I didn't taste it but he said it was his second favorite of the trip. His first being the cheese steak at The Plaza. Cheese steak is his new favorite food, suddenly passing actual steak. :)

regards
