Like many of you, my fiance and I have been anxiously awaiting free dining to save some money on our vacation. Since no solid details have come out yet, we decided to try some of the suggestions on here for getting a pin. About a week or two ago, I updated my Disney account and signed up my fiance for his own. I ordered him the DVD, as suggested on the DIS threads, and when I updated his account information, I made sure to indicate he had only been one time before, as I felt they would be more likely to give him a pin when he has only been one time rather than a Disney veteran visitor like me who can't even remember how many times I've gone! I performed and saved a couple of searches that night, but then with the busy couple of weeks before the holidays forgot all about it. Then, today my fiance called with the news he got a pin! It was the 20/30/40 room offer but it extends well into the fall, unlike the last offer which only went until 8/14 (we leave a week or so later than that!) We had been staying at the Wilderness Lodge, but with this PIN we were able to upgrade to the Poly for less than what the WL was originally going to cost us, and only $350 more than what the WL with the pin offer would cost. As I doubt I will have a chance to go back to the Poly in the near future, I am super excited! Now, even if free dining comes out, we will be getting a better deal with 40% off at the Poly than with FD (since we only have two people). Just wanted to share my excitement and explain what we did to try to get the PIN!
