We got a GRAND upgrade!

Our first ever stay on property; we checked in at the GF, had booked a garden view and got an upgrade to a lagoon view, I guess that's what we had. It was beautiful, we could see the fireworks, the lighted boat parade (that's not the correct name for it), the beach front was right outside our balcony. It was beautiful.

Now next time I'll have to book a room like that, lol.

When do they give upgrades for free. We booked our rooms for May about a week ago for All Star Movies and we were told that they only had preferred rooms left. We had to pay for the upgrade even though we really had no choice in the matter. ( i had no idea they filled up so quickly)

Upgrades are their choice and happen when you least expect it. You can ask for one at check in, but you will most likely have to pay. Most people are surprised with one when they check in if it is to be given.

That would be awesome to get an upgrade!!! I have never asked for one, and never gotten one either...but as long as Im at a Disney Resort I dont care!

I am VERY fortunate to be able to stay at the GF in February 07 after MANY MANY years of dreaming to stay there, and I tell you one thing....when I check in, I aint gonna ask for nothing!!! Im so lucky to stay there, I really aint gonna be picky!

They can upgrade me or put me by the dumpsters and I WOULDNT CARE A BIT! ID BE AT THE GF!!!!

Funny, my dh and I have always dreamed about staying there and since when we decide to stay op, it was no question of where. YEARS ago when the Nick. Hotel was just a Holiday Inn, we stayed there for less than $30 a night, lol. It was definitely a dream come true to book and stay at the GF.

BTW, we didn't ASK for anything, they just gave it to us!

Really? all the standard rooms are booked @ all-star movies. Are you going during memorial day weekend? or earlier in the month. I'm planning a pop century trip sometime in early may.

We were upgraded to a preferred at ASSP for our Christmas Trip. second room from the end nearest the food court and transportation. What a welcome surprise.
