I figured I'd post on the UK community board....I'm hooked on some British shows!!! DH and I stopped watching American shows a long time ago and finally cut cable right before Christmas. On Netflix, we found "The Storyteller," which was done with Jim Henson Studios. We watched that because we loved the Muppets. I recognized the Storyteller character as the same person who played Olivander in the Harry Potter series....John Hurt. Now we're hooked on "Merlin"
I love the story and I like this interpretation. I also like the way Colin Morgan and Bradley James play off one another. From there, I found "North and South" with Richard Armitage and Brendan Coyle....I liked that series a lot. I tried "The Forsyte Saga" but I didn't like single character. I dropped that one at about episode 6, so I did try to muddle through. I also watched the first eposide of "Robin Hood" with Jonas Armstrong and Richard Armitage, but I wasn't crazy about it. Now I'm hooked on "Downton Abbey" also with Brendan Coyle. I love Maggie Smith in this as well.
Anyway, a BIG thank you to the British writers, actors, programmers, etc. for giving me something interesting to watch again on television.
