Before...
Here is part of a closet we didn't know was there because there was an artificial fireplace built over it. You can see a mark on the ceiling where the top of the fireplace was.
Since the former owner covered the closet, he had to build a closet in another corner. We ripped out this closet and rebuilt the original closet.
Our dresser was in two pieces put together and was taller than me. We separated the two pieces. Before we started the walls were a light tan, with white sponge painted on top.
______________________________
And after some deconstruction, some construction, and a lot of paintint we have...
A new and bigger closet.
Much more room (not to mention brighter!)
I used the same material to cover the top of the small part of the dresser, under the window and to cover this cushion on top of our cedar chest. I hemmed the curtains and made pillows out of the extra material.
You can't tell from these pictures, but Gene put a gold cord all along the top where the walls meet the ceiling. It matches the frames perfectly on either side of the bed where we have the kids' pix.
I know it's too bold for some, but I love it!
