We accepted an offer back in Jan but with solicitors and other people progressing it all so slowly it felt as if the sale would never be finalised. Well yesterday they finally exchanged contracts and tomorrow the sale should complete and the estate agents will release the keys to the new owner. She's a single lady in her twenties, first time buyer and so excited about finally being a homeowner. I ended up meeting her entire family I think as every time she came by for any reason she had sisters, brother or parents along so she could show off the house to them!

We cleared out on Sunday and moved away yesterday. As our new house isn't built yet we've moved in with DH's parents for a few months and put all our stuff into storage. A lot of our furniture was years old, things DH bought when he was a new homeowner, so we've parted with a lot. We spoke to the new owner and she asked to keep anything we didn't need as she has no furniture as she's moving out of her parents place for the first time. She was ecstatic when we said there's be sofas and things we'd leave if she wanted them, don't think she could believe her luck!

Really upsetting for me walking out of the house and locking the door behind us, knowing we couldn't ever go back in. :sad1: My pregnancy hormones are all over the place at the moment so I was a gibbering wreck most of yesterday as we packed up the final things and drove away. One thing I made sure to do was take a specific photo. There's a pic of DH standing in the doorway from the day he got the keys so I tried to take the exact same photo, 7 and a half years later on!

Not ideal circumstances being with the inlaws for 3 months but today we went to the site and saw our new place under construction again. On Saturday we'll be picking out our new tiles, carpets and kitchen which I'm very excited about - the thought of picking all that always attracted me to new builds! We should exchange contracts on the new house any day now and from there it's just a waiting game. Very nice to be mortgage/rent free for 3 months though (just covering the extra bills for his parents), woohoo!

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to shout from the rooftops!:banana::banana:

PS, 16 week midwife appointment today and all progressing nicely.

COngratulatioons!!! I know that it is very exciting news! Good luck with your inlaws but it will be worth it in the end to get what you want.

Hope the few months with the inlaws fly by!

16 weeks is a milestone! Congrats!! :cloud9:

Congrat Queenie! 3 months is not so bad - DH and I were 18 months with inlaws as we were doing a place up from scratch and recession hit right in the middle! (Moving in not an option as no bathroom, kitchen, heating......)

"In with anger, out with love":rolleyes1

And fun choosing all the decor - and not having to do it yourself:goodvibes

ooh 18 months, I feel for you!!

The house is scheduled to be finished by the end of June, there isan extended completion date of July 31st but that is more than likely the building compnay covering their own backs legally. The builders have said they desperately want to have us moved in by the end of June as that is their financial half-year end and they want to include that sale in their figures, otherwise their books will show all the outgoings from the construction but none of the income from the sale!

The baby is due September so even with a delay in the building and an early birth, we should still be in before Bean arrives. If things go as planned, we'll be in 2 and a half months before birth which is enough time to get settled in, even if all the boxes aren't yet unpacked. We have a scan on April 24th which is the 20 week scan where we'll hopefully find out the gender of the baby, assuming it's lying in the correct position! It's a right little mover, loves squirming around just after I've eaten my dinner!

OH the 24th is a grand day!! That's DH's and my anniversary! 16 years!! And we'll be on our way to the World. Ahhhh, I get to buy the Bean or Beanette something at WDW!!

Nancy you must text me the results!

You wait for the kicks:rolleyes1 I used to get them right under the ribs in the middle of meetings, so hard they'd make me jump!

My sister's youngest used to wait til she was just dropping off to sleep then start doing the lambada on her bladder. Baring in mind that my sis is an insomniac at the best of the times, this was not a welcome development in her pregnancy!
