Well at the moment we have a small covering but its getting more persistent than earlier. Hopefully by the morning I won't be able to get to work!!! Oh well never mind, although I think I may have to go the nearest station to show willing for duty!! That will be fun in the snow!!
To anyone else with snow take care out there as I know other places are having 'blizzards' with the high winds.
Claire :D

Whoa! Just looked out of the window and we have at least 4" of snow already and the wind is REALLY blowing so a few drifts by morning methinks!

We live at the top of a hill so it should be interesting getting to work!

Reporting in from East Herts!! TONS of the stuff has fallen here - real blizzards!! I found driving a real nightmare at around 6.00pm and shan't venture out in the car again until the roads are gritted. (The problem is only the main roads are gritted - our small back roads remain ice rinks!)

Ah well - looks really pretty :) !

Absolute hell getting into work this morning. We hahave snow and now sheets of ice in Barking. On the tube we have no central line, becuase of the derailment, Jubilee line was running one every 15 mins so it was hard to get on one. Everyone was turfed out of the District Line at Whitechapel, me thinks someone was telling me I shouldn't have bothered ;) I'm gonna do what I have to do here and then it's off home for me, it'll probably take me another 2 hours to get home LOL!!

Why is it as a country we're just not prepared for snow and I wouldn't mind but in my part we only had 3 inches.....oh good grief how would we cope if more fell.

I'm gonna stock up on hot chocolate and crumpets, but I just hope that I can get to Lakeside tomorrow I have a retail therapy urge :)

Have good weekends one and all.

We only had about 2 inches here and the roads were still at a stand still!!

I think i need to borrow Homers plough ..... Mr Plough, thats my name, that name again is Mr Plough!

Claire, I'm happy for you. Please keep it over there, OK! I'm sick of the fluffy white stuff. ;)

Haven't seen snow like this for years! I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get home reasonably OK last night and even managed to get into work (18 miles from home) through East Hertfordshire this morning! Had to be ultra careful - but I did it - just took me an extra haf an hour.
Work is deserted - less than 40% managed to get in and some of the horror stories :
- a colleague got home at 8am this morning being stuck on the M11 through out the night;
- another didn't get home until 3 am!
- another flew in from the far east and had to wait 3 hours for his luggage at Heathrow!
- many colleagues just "camped" in at work for the night!
..... and more snow to come overnight, we are told!
Certainly given "talking about the weather" another dimension!
Best wishes to all those having to brave this "unusual" weather in our neck of the woods!

We dont have snow.
DH bought a snowplough for the tractor 4 years ago and has used it twice!!!

LOL Emma I love that episode :)

Hey Mo perhaps your DH should come on down here and tout for business as Mr Plough ;)

Well we didn't get anymore snow last night so I got to work ok!! Now the snow has almost gone apart from places that were in the shade all day as the temperature on the car display never got above 3 degrees c in the sun even. But Sam is so right why as a country can we not cope with a small amount of snow??
At least I can always hope to see snow in New York in two weeks time. A friend in Salt lake City emailed me to say that it is the first time in decades that the pond in Central Park has frozen solid enough for skating on!!
Take care out there.
Claire:D

Well Claire, the Farmer's Alamanc says we're supposed to have a blizzard in two weeks. So, yep, you might get to see some white stuff.

Claire,
I live 90 minutes away from NYC and I have tons of snow you can have and take away with you. We are sick of it!!

Hi Brits,

I just looked out my window and it is a clear, cool, and sunny day :p

Anyway, stay safe in that weather you're having :)
