OK...here we go- the third times a charm!
A pot of coffee and a shower later, I was awake again and ready to go. I left DH and the boys and said I'd meet them at Lumiere's for dinner, because I wanted to stop in the ship's shops and scope out which Christmas ornament I'd buy, which tshirts I'd buy, which pins I'd buy...well, you get the idea. I got to Lumiere's, and my family wasn't there yet. That was strange. Wonder where they could be? About 10 minutes later, DH and the kids came in, and DH's skirts were all in a twist over the fact that they had been waiting for me out in front of the restaurant for 15 minutes!
Oops. Looks like I missed them when I went in the other door! Anyway, we were all in pirate bandanas, the boys were wearing ones given to them in our FE
and DH & I were using the ones Disney provides on the table. DS11 started the evening off by impaling Capt Hook with his knife-
Ouch! That's GOTTA hurt. Anyway, are you ready for some food porn? Because I've got a ton! Both DH & I had to have Black Beard's Jumbo Crab Cake with a fruit salsa and honey-lime tropical coleslaw-
Yum yum yum on that one!! DS11 tried Pearls of the Caribbean- crabmeat, shrimp and salmon mixed in pearls of couscous with lemon grass infused vinaigrette-
But of course he also had to try some of DH's crabcake!
We shared a Hideaway Bay Salad- romaine lettuce mixed with Caeser dressing with garlic and parmesan shavings and jerk spiced croutons-
DS9 decided to make good on his precruise revelation that yes, on a cruise you CAN eat steak every night and ordered one from the kids menu-
Of couse, who wouldn't want staek every night when Christian was always there to cut it up!
And because DS9 was having an eye-patch problem, Christian fed him, too!
Ya know, i really wish they'd step up the service on DCL a bit- poor DS9 actually had to feed HIMSELF part of the time!
DS11 was busy inhaling (literally) Treasure of the Seas Grilled Shrimp and Seared Scallops served on strings of pasta and fresh creamy tomato sauce-
I was having The Black Pearl's Oven-Roasted Beef Tenderloin with sour cream chive smashed potatoes, sugar baked carrots with a deep Red wine glaze-
And DH tried Jack Sparrow's Musked Smoked Pork Shank on soft herbed polenta, roasted onion and tomato stew with a light barbeque glaze-
You know, I'm taking these descriptions right off the menu, and they all look a little off- but the food was wonderful, nonetheless! More in the next post...and yes, i am holding my breath-
