We Don't Play Nice With Others. (Complete!)

Only 58 sleeps until Christmas.

WOOHOO!!!!

:dance3:

Only 10 more days until the craft show! :scared:

...OK, back to Disney... pixiedust:

I'm glad your parents got their luggage, and got it fairly quickly.

I watched a video on Facebook this morning that they had posted of Hoop Dee Doo and looks like there was quite a crowd compared to the night we were there.

Oh and I HAVE to see the Disney World video from 1990! Just to put it in perspective, mom was pregnant with David then.... scaryyyyy.

Can't wait to hear more!

Holy Moly, MORE lost luggage????? This sounds like the perfect time to launch Air Canadia since it seems the competition is ripe for the picking.

Oh wow, I do love some vintage WDW. I was just recently gifted with a WDW plastic mug from the 70's. It's wrapped in a picture of Main Street. Oddly, it doesn't look all that different.

Gosh more lost luggage - glad they got it back soon though

And that sounds like a lovely Christmas gift - those gifts that are more about the thought and the effort that the actual price tag always mean so much :goodvibes

Sorry about the lost luggage. Glad you went swimming anyway. I have always feared loosing my luggage so I always have a couple of outfits, jammies, and at least one bathing suit.
T-Rex sounds awesome. I've never been there, maybe in January.
You got the cowboy scene. Ive probably seen this 8 times and have never gotten the cowboy scene. I'll have to try in January. When are you going to be there. I only have like 65 more sleeps. I can't wait!!

Gracious, what is with the Air Canada people? Good to hear your parents' luggage was pretty quickly recovered, though.
Awful, right? They have so little competition. We need another airline to swoop up here and make them shape up.

I went through old photos recently and found a picture of me meeting Chip & Dale when I was about 3! I should post the throwback, too. Good times. Have fun Holiday shopping!
Cool! I love the old photos, just so interesting to see how everything changes.

Yes it did look really full! They said they had a great time.

I'll have to remember to get some clips from it. It was fun to watch!

Yeah! Do it! I'll definitely support an Air Canadia launch. I don't know how... official photographer? I'm not really much use around airplanes. :rotfl:

That's cool! I love vintage WDW too, I really like those new Epcot t-shirt designs with the retro look. I have a Mickey and Minnie from 1990 on my book shelves. So cute.

Yes, more lost luggage. Air Canada has never been great, but lately they're even worse!
I agree about the thoughtful gifts being the better ones, and some of the video I'm coming across is pretty special! My parents are always saying they have to get those videos done, so I'm glad to get the opportunity to sneak in and get it all done while they're away. Only two tapes to go! (Until I find more in their house... :lmao: )

I usually take some extras in my carryon, but I just wasn't in the mood to drag a bag around the airports. I learned my lesson though!

What a wonderful present to your parents!!! :goodvibes Great idea! :thumbsup2 :santa:
I'm hoping they like it, they've been meaning to get it done forever!~ I'm enjoying watching all the old video too!

Lost Luggage!

:sad2:

Your family would definitely do better on Air Canadia.

I know a guy!

:lmao:

:crazy2: :sad2: Really, Air Canada? What are the odds of that even happening to the same family within months of each other? Yeesh...

Good idea converting all the old tapes to discs. A 1990 Disney trip video..I bet that was so fun to watch and see so many years down the road. We never taped my old trips. Talk about a walk down memory lane.:goodvibes

What is it with your family and luggage?:furious:

What a nice thing you are doing with the tapes for your folks! Will you do that for me?:lmao:

Hahaha the current AC has it out for my family I think. I think I'll be one of the first investors in Air Canadia!!

I know, very sad. Also pathetic.

I loved it! I mean, I was 4 so I have no real memories of it, so it was cool to see.

oh my gosh....the luggage!!!

your parents will love the converted movies--awesome idea!
Yup, I think AC is going to be getting several complaint letters from my family!!
I'm hoping the videos go over well. :goodvibes

I know right? I'd actually feel better if it was just my family, but sadly Air Canada is getting quite the reputation for this kind of thing. :rolleyes2
Yes I would! But I don't think it's economically efficient to ship your tapes here and back. :lmao:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

This-Is-Halloween.gif

I actually don't like Halloween, so I prefer to celebrate Queenofallthings and natebenma's birthdays instead.

Happy birthday ladies!!

:rotfl2:

Remember the other day when I said I was going to do an update but got distracted by a video of Disney 1990?

Guess what I came across today.

CA94F2A3-932A-4ABA-B23E-3AED372FDA82.jpg

I'm trying not to be too distracted by that one this morning. I'd like to get another update in!

"Chapter 4: New Friends and Old"

We left off last time on the way to a Dismeet!

I would be meeting for the first time, the lovely Kathy and the wonderful Mark (together they make KatMark!)

Not only did our trips line up, and not only did our planned DHS days line up, but our Star Tours FP+ lined up as well so we figured, what better time or place to meet?

I ran straight there from the GMR. I came around the bend and recognized them right away sitting and waiting for us. (Sorry about that wait Kathy!)

I got a hug in from both, but my in-laws had a FP+ for Star Tours that would expire in 5 minutes so I wanted to point them to the entrance before chatting too much. Kathy suggested we all just ride now together. Great idea!

Johnny's family got a little further ahead so Kathy, Mark, Johnny and I wound our way through the queue chatting the whole time.

IMG_3655 by teekathepony, on Flickr

If any of you ever have a trip overlapping this lovely couple, make sure to say hello. They are the sweetest, friendliest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. We chatted like long-time best buds and before we knew it we were getting buckled into the ride. None of us were the rebel spy, but we did have a great ride. I'm totally blank on which scenes we got though. Try checking out Kathy's TR -- "Last Trip? It was until we met Food & Wine" to see if she remembers! :lmao:

When we got out of the ride we chatted for a few more minutes, but they had a FP to get to and my family was getting hungry so we parted ways, but not without a picture!

IMG_3657 by teekathepony, on Flickr

I was standing on a curb there. I'm really quite short! In fact Kathy had an extra Olaf cutout and she said she was planning on giving it to a little girl and I qualified as both little and a girl, so she gave it to me! I still have it too. :goodvibes

After we parted ways with Kathy and Mark, we headed to the Backlot Express for a quick lunch. I have no pictures, but I'll steal some from Allears.net:

dining_location_image_251.jpg

Backlot%20Express%20037.jpg

Johnny had his beloved "Buffalo Chicken Breast Nuggets (8 pieces) - - served with French fries or carrot sticks $9.19"

and I had the "Grilled Vegetable Sandwich - basil asiago artisan bread, mushrooms, red peppers, zucchini, tomato, watercress and cheese with sundried tomato pesto, served with carrot sticks or french fries $9.19"

Both very good. A lady from a few tables over came over to our table and said, "We have some extra cupcakes, they came with all our meals but we can't eat them. Would the kids like them?"

Two pairs of eyes popped open.

"Yes please!"

Shellie was amazed at how nice other guests could be. Welcome to Disney! :thumbsup2

I wish I had pictures, but I don't. They brought over two beautiful Frozen cupcakes for the kids! How very sweet of them!

Continued in next post.

After lunch we decided to try the Backlot Tour. It was a typical Backlot Tour of course. My group kept getting split up because they kept going where they weren't supposed to or jumping into different lines... and then at one point half of them jumped on the tram that was already full...

:rolleyes2

In their defence, one of the CMs told them to go ahead while another was saying they were full.

Anyway, we did ride the ride.

IMG_3661 by teekathepony, on Flickr

IMG_3662 by teekathepony, on Flickr

Umm... hold up... did they seriously paint Planes eyes on the war planes?? Oh man.

My favourite spot:
IMG_3664 by teekathepony, on Flickr

We all conspired to make sure Kevin was on the water side:
IMG_3670 by teekathepony, on Flickr

IMG_3672 by teekathepony, on Flickr

We had a great ride and the first timers enjoyed it very much. Every time I ride this I can't help but think back to my 1990 trip and how excited my parents were to see the Golden Girls' house.

After this it was time for our Tower of Terror FP+. The skies were getting appropriately dark and stormy as we walked down the street towards my enem- I mean the tower. :p

I opted out. Yes, I hate (not dislike, not prefer others, not get sick on -- HATE) riding the Tower of Terror. I really feel legitimately terrified and no sense of exhileration with it. No "scary but fun" feeling, just pure, actual terror.

I'm also claustrophobic and hate actual elevators, so...

Anyway, I waited while the rest rode.

IMG_3677 by teekathepony, on Flickr

I found this guy, who I really wanted to buy:
IMG_3673 by teekathepony, on Flickr

but he was $50 and definitely not in my strict, limited budget. (Of course Johnny said later, "If you want it we'll get it." Good thing I'm good with money or we'd be in the poor house.)

I met them quite a while later at the exit. It took longer than expected! It also poured rain so I hid in the gift shops.

The family was ready to go home. Yes, at about 5pm. :rolleyes2 PrincessD11 wanted one last ride on Rock'n'Rollercoaster and since we were in the area we went to check the standby time. It said 25 minutes and her parents said that was too long to wait... :confused3 So they left the park. We asked if they were coming back for Famtasmic! Afterall, that was one thing they were all really looking forward to! But no... they were saying the kids were too tired, but could see that it wasn't necessarily the kids... :faint:

When they left Johnny and I decided to have another go on RnR anyway. Sadly for poor PrincessD, the wait was actually only 10 minutes. We had a great ride though!

We were starting to feel irritable and that means hungry, so we quickly found some food.

IMG_3678 by teekathepony, on Flickr

I had posted my Dismeet on Facebook and when I checked I saw this message from a certain DisneyKid4Life:

Rob: Where's my meet???

That's right! Rob's in the park too! So I replied:

Wendy: Where are you now?

We chatted and decided to meet by the entrance to Toy Story Mania. Johnny wanted one more ride before we left. Down we went and look who we found:

IMG_3679 by teekathepony, on Flickr

We've met Rob before, but it was in a mall in our home province of Nova Scotia, so it wasn't the same. Meeting up in Disney was much more fun! We chatted for quite a while and then decided we would all ride TSM together!

IMG_3680 by teekathepony, on Flickr

Best I could do for pictures. Rob might have some better ones (when he gets to this day) on his TR, "DO YOU TASTE LIKE CHICKEN?" - A Canadia September Solo Adventure! -- if you haven't already, go check it out!

After the ride we chatted a little more. If you ever find yourself in Disney at the same time as Rob, make sure to say hello! He is one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet, especially when you share a love of Disney!

We parted ways and Johnny and I decided to head out of the park before the crowd. We aren't big Fantasmic fans you see, and since the family wasn't coming back for the show, we didn't feel the need to stay. We headed out and drove back out of the bubble to our condo.

Up next: "HOW DO I GET IN???"

That is great that you were able to meet up with KatMark and Rob! Three high quality DISers right there!

How nice of that family to give your their cupcakes! Love when guests pass some pixie dust to other guests like that :goodvibes

Probably good that you went on the Back Lot given that it is no longer an option

can't help but feel the fact you are claustrophobic and hate actual elevators might hae something to due to with your lack of love for Tower of Terror :lmao:

Bummer the family wasn't up for staying for Fanstamic! - though probably better to leave than stay and be cranky about the fact they stayed.

Lumiere, c'est fantastique. But not possibly $50 fantastic. I'm also good with money, otherwise we'd be in the same boat. Sinking. :lmao:

Two fantastic DIS meets! I cannot wait until next year as Kathy and my trips overlap in October! :yay:

Bummer that the kids couldn't get to one last RNR. Too bad they couldn't stay with you two.

There was absolutely no issue with the wait; we still had time for our next FP+ time and no need to get there right at the beginning of it.

Wendy, you are simply too sweet. Thank you; we so thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and Johnny and getting a little time in with you. As for the scene, although I'd welcome anyone who wanted to wander to my TR, I'm not at that day yet (two more updates or so before that), but I couldn't tell you what scene we got. I have no idea who any of those people/creatures are in Star Wars. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

When we got out of the ride we chatted for a few more minutes, but they had a FP to get to and my family was getting hungry so we parted ways, but not without a picture!

Food getting in the way of our time together. :sad2:

I couldn't think of any "little" girl I'd rather give it to. I can't find mine...I think it is still in my suitcase. :rotfl2:

After we parted ways with Kathy and Mark, we headed to the Backlot Express for a quick lunch. I have no pictures, but I'll steal some from Allears.net:

Disney magic at it's best right there with the cupcakes. How very sweet. :)

Oh, I never saw that Lumiere. If I had, I would have bought it for Des to add to her Beauty & The Beast collection as her Christmas gift. Maybe it will still be there for next year. Yes, our men tend to get us what we want.

I met them quite a while later at the exit. It took longer than expected! It also poured rain so I hid in the gift shops.

At least you got a great ride.

I have to say the pizza there isn't too bad for Florida pizza.

Up next: "HOW DO I GET IN???"

I would say overall (after the ticket fiasco) not a bad day. :)

HAHAHAHA, I choose to do the birthdays AND Halloween. :)

Yeah ok, so rub it in that I missed out on that DISmeet. I'm absolutely convinced I walked right passed Mark out front (perhaps waiting for you) on my way to finding the Frozen Sing-A-Long.

I am so happy you had this meet though. So great that you even got to do a ride as well. DISmeets rule!

You know I don't think I've ever eaten at the Backlot. I think every time it's just too busy.

Aww how great about the free cupcakes. Always awesome to show new folks the extra special things that come with a Disney trip (especially if you stay around long enough to see it ;) ).

Nice that you got in one last Backlot tour before the closure. I also love going through the "working area" with the clothing etc. and always wish the tram would slow down, or better yet, stop.

That is still so sad to me that D11 didn't ge that last RnRC ride. :(

YAY IT'S ME!!!!! Yes, while a non Disney DISmeet is unique in its own right, there is nothing like a REAL Disney DISmeet. And yeah, we DID talk a while.

And even better we got to ride TSMM which I never would have gotten to do otherwise. And Thank You for your kind words Wendy. The feeling is very much mutual

awwww, what great dismeets!

that lumiere is so cute!
They were! It's always nice to meet up with like minded people. :thumbsup2
He was adorable, but a little too expensive for me!

That is great that you were able to meet up with KatMark and Rob! Three high quality DISers right there!
Absolutely, it made for a very fun day!

How nice of that family to give your their cupcakes! Love when guests pass some pixie dust to other guests like that :goodvibes
Me too, I am very happy to say we saw a lot of that this trip! :goodvibes

Probably good that you went on the Back Lot given that it is no longer an option
Yes, that's why we made it a priority.

can't help but feel the fact you are claustrophobic and hate actual elevators might hae something to due to with your lack of love for Tower of Terror :lmao:
Agreed!!

Bummer the family wasn't up for staying for Fanstamic! - though probably better to leave than stay and be cranky about the fact they stayed.
You're right, I feel bad that they missed it but they probably wouldn't have enjoyed it if they weren't in the mood to stay.

Lumiere, c'est fantastique. But not possibly $50 fantastic. I'm also good with money, otherwise we'd be in the same boat. Sinking. :lmao:
Oui, je suis d'accord. He's cute but not $50 cute. Hahaha I hate being the one who's good with money because when I want something, but know I shouldn't, I have to stop myself because I know he won't! A test of will power every time!

Two fantastic DIS meets! I cannot wait until next year as Kathy and my trips overlap in October! :yay:
That's so awesome!! I love when trips line up :thumbsup2

Bummer that the kids couldn't get to one last RNR. Too bad they couldn't stay with you two.
We said the same thing. If we only could have known that it was really only 10 minutes!
