We Don't Play Nice With Others. (Complete!)

Holy cow, what a way to start your day! Sheesh! I'm glad everything got straightened out and that you had such a nice CM to help you with your ticket. Sorry you had to wait standby on TSM. We've always had good luck waiting standby and the waits never been what was posted, so I'm sorry your luck may not have been as good.

But so awesome about the cowboy! So awesome! Glad your day is looking up.

Wow, nothing was easy on this trip for you. I'm glad the ticket thing finally got figured out. They could have given you a couple of FP's for the trouble, though.

For not bringing your camera, you got some great pics with your phone. Very nice picture of you with Bo and the Mr. Potato head picture is really nice too.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for getting the Cowboy.

Gee, I wonder who you were meeting. ;)

I can't wait for December to stay in the Disney bubble the whole time and not have to drive past the cheesy gift shop everyday!

Glad you got the ticket situation figured out, I very much dislike blue Mickey's ::yes::

TSM is such a great ride that I think 55 minutes is justifiable, glad you got to get on it.

The Cowboy scene!! That is awesome, I hope one of these days to get it!

Can't wait to see who your first Dismeet is with :surfweb:

Wow, with all the trouble this trip, you are going to get major pixie dust next year. :)

Congrats on getting the cowboy!

Jill in CO

Can I ask a question without spoiling the TR? Do u ever get or find your luggage? Lol

I'm glad you got ur tickets sorted out! How frustrating!

ugh, that is a lot of stress/fainting emoticons for one update. Glad in the end it all worked out and you got in the park, got to see Bo, got on RNRC and above all GOT THE COWBOY scene!!! It's funny how big of a deal that is to those in the know.

I recall we got that our trip last year and I basically *squeed* like a 12 year and my wife game me the "um, ok" look

ooh, excited to read about you your first ever DISmeet!

It's like night and day, being inside and outside the Disney bubble. The minute those purple signs go away...BAM cheap ticket billboards.

Yikes, sorry to hear about the ticket delima. It's good you packed your patience (in your purse, of course...not your luggage.). I didn't even think about not having MagicBands....

I'm really happy to hear that SOMETHING good happened o. Your DHS morning. A little pixie dust in the form of cowboy scenes. :rotfl:

I hope you didn't hit your head with all that fainting! :headache: You poor thing.

Sounds like you had an awesome CM though. So glad that all worked out, just a little later than you would have liked.

Yay for riding TSM! Glad the newbies liked it!!!!

I really love the Great Movie Ride... for some reason, I think I had the cowboy scene the first time I went on it. I don't remember completely, because at the time I didn't know it mattered. But I remember that something seemed different when I rode it the next time (a year later, mind you!)

Next year's trip is looking good already. November is a definite, and our tentative dates are the 15th to the 25th. We have a long (very long!) list of restaurants we'd like to take a closer look at. Next month we will call to see if that ridiculous travel package my parents have will work for us and if they can get us into the BCV or not. I can't wait to see if they actually live up to their word!

I am pulling for you!!! I want to add you to the list!

:thumbsup2

"We're getting the cowboy."

He looked around with a grin on his face.

"No way. We don't have that kind of luck on this trip."

"I'm sure of it Johnny. We're getting the cowboy."

We got all loaded into our vehicle and took a ride through the movies. We kept going...

RIGHT

THROUGH

THE GANGSTER SCENE.

Nothing happened.

Then...

That is awesome!

Not sure you are quite even for the day you have had so far, but it helps.

Haha, I knew where you were going (even if I didn't already) just by your location beside the WDW sign. I hate that with DHS you don't go under it. Well, you can and just go to the back entrance, but still.

I'm glad Rob clarified. It has been awhile since we stayed offsite (2004), but I was horrified that an offsite stay may not include a trip under the arches.

:scared1:

Glad that it is limited to DHS, and at least you see them.

I can not believe they don't have your luggage yet! what the heck?

we never get out of the hotel on time, so I feel your pain on that one. it's like they conspire just to drive you crazy!

it is nice to be in the bubble, isn't it?

valarDisneyus--on the great movie ride, there are two scenes you could get.....one is the cowboy scene, and one is the gangster scene. we haven't ridden it in forever, so i'm not sure i remember it exactly right, but in the gangster scene, a gangster comes out and takes over your vehicle. in the cowboy scene, a cowboy kidnaps your tour guide. it seems that the gangster scene "plays" more frequently then the cowboy one, but if you are directed to the far right, which I think is the first ride vehicle, you are more likely to get the cowboy scene. someone correct that if I screwed that up, thanks!

You are totally correct and please don't assume like my poor family did that this means you get to experience different movie sets.

Imagine their surprise after I had hyped up the "cowboy scenes" over and over until we finally asked for them only to find out that it is the same ride and you just lose your CM in a different room. My family was NOT amused with me!

*sigh* Still no bag. I would have been so frustrated.

That's the one thing about staying offsite - you see all the swill trying to siphon some of that Disney money off of the tourists. I was glad we were so close to Disney property so that we didn't see very much of that.

VERY cool you got the cowboy scene - on the first trip through, too!! What are the CHANCES??

Haha, I can see what you mean about being inside the Disney bubble! I do love a good multi-tasking opportunity though! :rotfl:

So glad your ticket issue was resolved easily!

So fun to get the cowboy scene!! :thumbsup2

"I'm ON VACATION. I don't do work on vacation!" Haha I gotta go with Johnny on that one.
He had a point. After all, I didn't bring my camera, he didn't bring his wrench!

Well, you just never know when the urge to get cheap tickets, tattoos, and furniture at the same time (I'm sure it happens), so nice to know that's available.
I keep trying to figure out how it all happens, do they tattoo the ticket onto your arm? Permagicband? While they do it you sit in a variety of chairs you might be interested in purchasing?

You drove by my hotel! Of course, I'm pretty sure I wasn't there at the time. ;)
No, you were already in the park like any other proper Disney goer. :rolleyes2

Haha, I knew where you were going (even if I didn't already) just by your location beside the WDW sign. I hate that with DHS you don't go under it. Well, you can and just go to the back entrance, but still.
I was sad to not go right under it, but happy just to be seeing it at all.

Aww what a nice CM. I'm very much ok with mistakes being made, but just the fact of acknowledgement goes such a long way.
Yup, I'm with you. Mistakes happen, just own them.

You know you're with newbees when 55 minutes for TSMM seems outlandish. To the rest of us it's "Wow that's short", lol.
They complained about 20 minute waits later in the trip. :faint: Y'all are in the wrong place guys... :lmao:

COWBOY!!!!!! See sometimes Disney has a way of trying to even things out.
Hahaha "Oh look at this poor girl surrounded by in-laws. Let's give her the cowboy scene!" :rotfl2:

I KNOW WHO YOU'RE MEETING!!!! <---- Yes I am aware it's not me, that's just me raising my hand. I remember my school days manners.
Who could it be now? :scratchin

Our CM was great, despite his mistake! When Johnny and I have gone just the two of us we've also always had great luck with TSM, I've never waited that long before.

But so awesome about the cowboy! So awesome! Glad your day is looking up.
A little bit of pixie dust went a long way!

Wow, nothing was easy on this trip for you. I'm glad the ticket thing finally got figured out. They could have given you a couple of FP's for the trouble, though.
No Kathy, you nailed it -- nothing was easy. I never even thought of getting comp'ed a little something, but that would have been nice!

For not bringing your camera, you got some great pics with your phone. Very nice picture of you with Bo and the Mr. Potato head picture is really nice too.
iPhones... they continue to amaze me with their photos!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for getting the Cowboy.
I was so excited, just a little pixie dust to try to start making up for everything else! :rotfl:

Gee, I wonder who you were meeting. ;)
Who could it be? :scratchin

I can't wait for December to stay in the Disney bubble the whole time and not have to drive past the cheesy gift shop everyday!
Oh I missed being inside the bubble a lot! The cheesy gift shops were funny at first. Especially the wizard with the lazy eye... I don't think I ever got a picture of him!

Glad you got the ticket situation figured out, I very much dislike blue Mickey's ::yes::
I think that was my first ever blue Mickey actually. Kind of a major one -- no ticket loaded! But glad we got it all sorted.

TSM is such a great ride that I think 55 minutes is justifiable, glad you got to get on it.
I agree, if you can't fastpass it, 55 minutes isn't that bad.

The Cowboy scene!! That is awesome, I hope one of these days to get it!
We asked for it last year. If there's one running soon they'll let you wait for it!

Can't wait to see who your first Dismeet is with :surfweb:
Coming right up!~

Wow, with all the trouble this trip, you are going to get major pixie dust next year. :)

Congrats on getting the cowboy!

Jill in CO
Jill, I sincerely hope you're right about next year!! :rotfl2:
Getting the cowboy was a little bit of pixie dust for us. :thumbsup2

Can I ask a question without spoiling the TR? Do u ever get or find your luggage? Lol

I'm glad you got ur tickets sorted out! How frustrating!
We do... but I won't tell you when! :rotfl2:
Ahh I was just scared that my wholesale ticket I bought was no good, I was therefore happy when I learned it was just a glitch!

ugh, that is a lot of stress/fainting emoticons for one update. Glad in the end it all worked out and you got in the park, got to see Bo, got on RNRC and above all GOT THE COWBOY scene!!! It's funny how big of a deal that is to those in the know.

ooh, excited to read about you your first ever DISmeet!
I think that emoticon (:faint:) just sums up the whole trip! :rotfl2:
This was the first time we ever got the cowboy scene without asking, so it was pretty exciting for us!
Dismeet coming up!

It's like night and day, being inside and outside the Disney bubble. The minute those purple signs go away...BAM cheap ticket billboards.
I knew about it, had heard stories, even seen pictures, but I was NOT prepared for the onslaught of tackiness! :rotfl:

Yikes, sorry to hear about the ticket delima. It's good you packed your patience (in your purse, of course...not your luggage.). I didn't even think about not having MagicBands....
:rotfl: :lmao: Yes so true, had I not kept my patience with me I would have ended up in a padded room.
I forgot to add something about the tickets... I'll have to add that to the next update. Not only did we not have our MagicBands... :rolleyes2

I'm really happy to hear that SOMETHING good happened o. Your DHS morning. A little pixie dust in the form of cowboy scenes. :rotfl:
Thankfully, or else I would have started to lose hope!

I hope you didn't hit your head with all that fainting! :headache: You poor thing.
As long as it knocked me out cold for a week... I wouldn't have minded. :lmao:

Sounds like you had an awesome CM though. So glad that all worked out, just a little later than you would have liked.
He was great, really friendly (and apologetic!)

Yay for riding TSM! Glad the newbies liked it!!!!
They did, they thought it was awesome!

I really love the Great Movie Ride... for some reason, I think I had the cowboy scene the first time I went on it. I don't remember completely, because at the time I didn't know it mattered. But I remember that something seemed different when I rode it the next time (a year later, mind you!)
I have always had the gangster until we asked for the cowboy last year. This was the first time it just happened!

I am pulling for you!!! I want to add you to the list!

:thumbsup2
Oh we'll be there. Somewhere there anyway! If my parents' package doesn't work out, we are aiming for the Yacht Club!

That is awesome!

Not sure you are quite even for the day you have had so far, but it helps.
It did help, but you're so right, hard to even out on a trip like this! :rotfl2:

I'm glad Rob clarified. It has been awhile since we stayed offsite (2004), but I was horrified that an offsite stay may not include a trip under the arches.

:scared1:

Glad that it is limited to DHS, and at least you see them.
That was something I was really looking forward to, driving under those each time! (Or you know, off to the side of them. That was ok too!)

Okay, I'm out of the loop: What's the deal about the cowboy, please?
STLMickeyMom nailed it, same scenes, same basic thing happens, but just in a different room. I believe the cowboy one is a harder scene to re-set because of the fire.

I can not believe they don't have your luggage yet! what the heck?
Oh I know. You pay for a bag to go somewhere... you'd think they'd keep track of it! :rolleyes2

we never get out of the hotel on time, so I feel your pain on that one. it's like they conspire just to drive you crazy!
It was especially annoying to me... because I'm a tense control freak. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

it is nice to be in the bubble, isn't it?
So nice. So so nice. I never thought I took it for granted before... honestly believed that I fully appreciated it... well now I appreciate it a whole heck of a lot more!

valarDisneyus--on the great movie ride, there are two scenes you could get.....one is the cowboy scene, and one is the gangster scene. we haven't ridden it in forever, so i'm not sure i remember it exactly right, but in the gangster scene, a gangster comes out and takes over your vehicle. in the cowboy scene, a cowboy kidnaps your tour guide. it seems that the gangster scene "plays" more frequently then the cowboy one, but if you are directed to the far right, which I think is the first ride vehicle, you are more likely to get the cowboy scene. someone correct that if I screwed that up, thanks!

Oh dear!! :lmao: I get that. I've done that to Johnny too, build something up and it just doesn't meet his expectations. In fact, we did that to his mom with the People Mover!

*sigh* Still no bag. I would have been so frustrated.
It was getting hard to keep pushing forward for a good trip!

That's the one thing about staying offsite - you see all the swill trying to siphon some of that Disney money off of the tourists. I was glad we were so close to Disney property so that we didn't see very much of that.
We were far and had to drive through a lot of it. SO. MANY. MINI-MALLS. :scared1:

VERY cool you got the cowboy scene - on the first trip through, too!! What are the CHANCES??
I would honestly love to calculate that! It was pretty awesome!

Haha, I can see what you mean about being inside the Disney bubble! I do love a good multi-tasking opportunity though! :rotfl:
:lmao: Tattoos and furniture and tickets was my favourite shopping combo, but I was loving some of the other ones I saw too. :thumbsup2

So glad your ticket issue was resolved easily!
Me too, not a big deal in the end, but it did have me nervous!

So fun to get the cowboy scene!! :thumbsup2
Very exciting!!

Tiny life update:

My parents are in Orlando. Last night they (and my aunt and uncle) went to Hoop Dee Doo! They had it planned last trip but my dad landed in the hospital just an hour before it so they missed it. Glad to say they made it all healthy and very much enjoyed it.

Want to hear something (not) funny?

They traveled with Air Canada... and...

AC LOST THEIR LUGGAGE!

tumblr_mijm4pbH8M1rk97w1o1_250.gif

Luckily they did get their luggage much sooner than Johnny and I did. They got theirs the next day.

That incident made Johnny and I start thinking about our own and we decided to call Air Canada to check on the status of our interim expense claim. They received it on October 6th (that's when someone signed for it. I had the letter registered.) They told us it would be 4-6 weeks before we heard back on that. :headache: Because, you know, it's not like we couldn't use that money.

anigif_enhanced-buzz-22218-1381331519-30.gif

I often hitch a ride with my parents in to work (I don't drive) but since they're gone away I've been riding with Johnny who works at 7:30am. I work at 9:30! That gives me two hours each morning to myself. I meant to do an update yesterday, but I got distracted...

I've been getting a good jump start on my Christmas shopping you see, and for my parents I had an idea. I snuck into their house the minute they left, rounded up all the old VHS, Hi8, Mini-DV tapes and I'm going to transfer them to DVD (we do that here at work.) So yesterday I just meant to get some of the tapes going and then leave them to do some Dising... but I came across this one:

a5c104f1-a999-4cf0-86d2-1546fe2d771e.jpg

So I sat and watched it. So adorable! If I get a chance, I'll get some clips from it to share.

This morning it's just old horse shows with me and my old pony Shera. 1997! We were so cute.

Only 58 sleeps until Christmas.

excited.gif

Anyway, I've done my replies, now I have another hour to catch up with all of you. Over the next two weeks I promise I'll get to you all!!

Gracious, what is with the Air Canada people? Good to hear your parents' luggage was pretty quickly recovered, though.

I went through old photos recently and found a picture of me meeting Chip & Dale when I was about 3! I should post the throwback, too. Good times. Have fun Holiday shopping!
