"We don't like Disney, we like . . ."

I have to admit that I still sometimes call MK "Disney World" because when we went every year while I was a child, that was it - Disney World was MK. But I do not get people who spend thousands of dollars to go to WDW and have no clue about what is there. How do they even pick a hotel within the park when they have not done research? If I'm going on vacation, anywhere, even to visit friends, I do some research and it's not like it is tough to find info on Disney. Some people aren't planners, though - all the better for those of us who know what we're doing. Let's hope they donm't learn about DDP, DME or how to make ADRs!

When I went in Feb. DBF didn't want to know much about the planning. He knew it was being taken care of and made fun of my "Obsession". After I showed him a few options, he picked Artist Point for dinner (our least favorite :goodvibes )
I arrived with a one page grid chart (teacher) with our flight info (each way) where to get the ME at the airport, our hotel confirmation number, and "options A, B & C" for each day (it sometimes rains, or we might be tired) and all dinner ADRs.
Each day he'd have tons of question while he finally looked at the park brochure on the bus that morning. "Why can't we go to Typhoon Lagoon?" "Closed for refurbishment" Etc, etc...
And who looked so pleased and proud of our "advanced planning" when all of the bored, clueless dads watched us zip by on our Segway Tour wanting to know how to do it looking like a kid who dropped their ice cream when they were told it was all booked up?! :cheer2:
But - if ignorance is bliss why do these people not have as much fun at WDW as we do?

I needed a good laugh today. Don't you just love these "know it alls". I don't know if anyone can beat the big globe in epcot being Universal. That is just so ditzy. :cloud9:

I wonder what she'd say if Mickey's ginor"mouse" hand (on that "universal ball") was pointed out to her??

It baffels me that some people can not get the difference between DTD and UNIVERSAL City Walk. My friend was all excited about going to Emerils at City Walk while staying at WDW without a car! And, of course, "we don't mind waiting for a table" when I asked how she managed to get reservations!

OH MY LORD...I read this post like 10 times and just realized this "WORD"...however you spell it...is what my kids say ALL THE TIME, when referring to something BIG.... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Never saw it written OR with "mouse" thrown into it as well.... :rotfl: :rotfl:

When I requested time off in January for my next vacation, my boss looked at it and said, "Disney again....how old does your son have to be before you stop taking him?" I could not believe she asked me. 1) My son is only 7 and 2) I never plan to stop taking him, he is as obsessed as I am!!
