Park Day #2: Epcot!
Today I only had a couple goals:
Goal #1: Ride Soarin for the first time ever (it wasnt around last time we went in 2000)
Goal #2: The personalized menus and a diver at our lunch at the Coral Reef. This one I was super excited about. Especially since I had told DH about the kids menus and I told him I was able to get a diver to hold up a sign. However he no idea he would be getting his own personalized menu (if all went according to plan) and the sign the diver had would NOT be for the kids.
Anyway, on with the day:
The day started pretty much the same as it would all week long. Although I woke up before the alarm, I refused to get up- so I laid there secretly thinking of all the plans I had made for the day
getting all giddy inside hoping they would all actually be pulled off without a hitch. Finally the alarm sounded and I popped out of bed before DH so I could go to the bathroom before he got in there to shower. While in the bathroom, a split second later, the phone rang. I had already told DH if it rang to push speaker phone and so being the good hubby he is, he did just that. YEA! It was Mickey and Stitch. But alas, the boys slept right through it. And DD, although stirring, was still to asleep to realize who it was on the phone. I let the boys continue to sleep while DH showered and dd and I used the two sinks to wash our faces, brush our teeth and I put in my contacts. By the time DH got out of the shower, DD and I were ready to go. I woke the boys up and while the three guys got ready I packed the bag for the day. I decided I wasnt taking my baggalinni and decided to use DDs purse instead since it goes over the head and across the chest. Its a lot smaller and a lot lighter. So I put the ponchos, autograph books, headache medicine, tickets, hand sanitizer, moleskin and chapstick in the purse and was ready to head out the door. After our quick in room breakfast we were on our way to the bus stop. We waited just a few minutes and the bus was there. We almost didnt have time to take the just in case photos:
And DH was not in the best mood:
After a quick bus ride a quick trip through bag check we were waiting to be let in. Once through the turnstiles we headed over to the rope to wait just like the rest of the herd heading to Soarin. Before long, the rope was dropped and we were on our way! DD, oldest Ds and I got to the building before DH and youngest DS so we waited for them to catch up. Poor Blakes legs just dont move as fast as everyone elses. Once they caught up we were on our way to the coolest ride everor so I had been told. While standing in line we chatted with a gentleman and his wife who was highly recommending we fast pass test track since we had never ridden it either. So we finally get on Soarin after 10-15 minutes and sadly are in row 3. But thats okay, we will just deal with the dangling feet. But we really liked the ride, it was cool and we would have ridden it again if we had time, however it did not live up to my expectations. So Goal #1 completed, even if I was a wee bit disappointed. Against my wishes and suggestions DH wants to watch The Circle of Life movieyeah, can you say 20 minutes wasted! It was the most boring thing in Disney World. After I give DH the I told you so look, he simply gave me the Dont even say it look. But thats okay because what I wasnt allowed to say, the kids got my point across when they all said (almost in unison) That was Boring!
After all the boringness, we thought we would just go ahead and ride Living with the Land and be done with this building. DD was given the coveted red tag and about 60 seconds later handed it off. There was no wait.
We then hopped in a clam shell and rode:
This is a cute ride, but I have to say it takes forever to get to the ride. I felt like we walked forever before even seeing the clamshells
LOL
We then went to Turtle Talk with Crush. It was going to start just a few minutes after getting out of the clams so we didnt look around then. When we were waiting in line we went over what the kids would ask if they got called on. They were going to ask either If Crush had ever had turtle soup or what was in turtle soup. And I am happy to announce that my little blonde dude that had a white shell (Blake) got called on. I fully expected him to back out but he proudly asked What does turtle soup taste like? Everyone laughed. Crush got this dropped jaw look and said You have serious issues Dude!
We heard so many comments as we were leaving about how funny it was when that was asked. WOOHOO! Go Blake.
When we finished this, we grabbed fast passes for test track so we could ride later. We then went to Mission Space and rode the green side since there was only a 10 minute wait. Zach and I rode with a couple other guys and DH, Becca and Blake rode together. Going green was the right choice, even though Zach complained we didnt do the Orange side. I just dont think Blake or DH could have handled the orange side. We then went over to The Ball
Blake loved this ride except when it turns you backwards to bring you back down, he got very worried
LOL But once I explained it was to keep you from leaning forward going down and it allowed you to relax he eased up.
By now it was in our return time for Test Track as the return time wasnt but half an hour after we got the things. So we went and rode for the first time ever. We all really loved this ride and was actually in a car alone. However I had forgotten we could put it on our photo pass so I missed the photo because by the time I got the card out, the photo was gone
It was now a bit after 12:00 and our ADR for The Coral Reef was at 1:00. Dh wanted to see if they could seat us a bit early but I reminded him of the D-I-V-E-R
okay I actually didnt spell it since all the kids can spell, but I gave him that look that reminded him we couldnt go too early. So we basically just walked around slowly just taking photos along the way:
Finally we had killed enough time and it was time to head to:
On the walk over I couldnt resist this photo:
All together now
AWWWWWWW!
So I check in without saying anything (per Debbis email) and am just hoping everything is going to work. And I am excited to see when they check us in that they grab a little stack of something with a note on it
YEA! I know what those are
And they tell us they will be ready for us in a few minutes. So I take this photo of DH:
He is in a better mood now
And in just a few minutes we are being led to our table. We are seating in a booth right across the aisle from the tank
WOOHOO!!!!!!
We have the best server ever, Bianca. She is FABULOUS! She greets us and hands us our special menus and DH is very surprised he has one. The kids barely even notice they have special menus
UGH. So we point them out and tell them not everyone gets menus with their photos in them then it dawns on them they are special made for them
LOL
Bianca gets our drink orders to us and because DH and Zachs drink comes with a plastic dolphin on the cup, she brings us all one so the other kids dont get upset
. She takes our order: All of us get the steak except Blake gets the kids pizza (yes at a seafood place!). Just a few minutes after the order is placed we see this:
(sorry they are dark, I didnt want the flash to reflect off the glass)
And a close up of the sign (although you cant really read it):
It says: after 14 years you still make my heart skip a beat. Love, Sandy
Again all together: AWWWWWWWW
Dh was slightly shocked to say the least. But I think he ended up liking it.
And Goal #2 Complete!
Finally it was time for some Figment. I thing this is just so cute. So we load up and I did take a few photos but I promise I didnt disturb anyone. I didnt use a flash nor did my screen light up to be distracting:
Blake although he has a weak stomach, loved the skunk part. Probably because being in the country, it is something you smell often
LOL
By this time it was getting to be around 3:30. So we were finally going to head to the countries.
And this is a good spot to end this installment. Hopefully I will get the next one done before the end of the week
