We did the Everest preview today. Everything was very well coordinated and ran smoothly. There was the hugest line ever for the AP and DVC limited edition pin to buy. The free lanyard and pin were very easy to get, but you need to pick up a voucher first. Fast passes and baby swap passes were available. The single rider line entry was through the fast pass line. Any questions?

i have a question:

was the main entrance to the ride very far away from the main entrance to the AK? how long would it take to run to it when the park opens?

because when it opens i want to RUN RUN RUN LIKE CRAZY to get there!!!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

wow i need to ride this!!!

You can enter either near Tarzan rocks or close to birds of flight show. It's fun. I rode it twice today and once last Saturday. By far the front was the best!

My sister is convinced she is too large to ride this! Did you see any larger people on?

She is going with a group who are really excited about EE, and will be totally mortified if she cannot get on.

I've seen big old, small and young on this ride.

and is the pin the postcard... or is this something new.

I rode today, and I am a bit on the pooh size myself. It was awesome!! The seats are plenty big, and the restraint system is the lapbar style like on BTMRR.
We got to meet Deb Willis from allears and actually have our pic on her site (last name is wrong, but I emailed her on that one :)

We were at the park at rope drop, and NOT near the front. From rope drop to the time we had ridden and had our lanyards and pins and were on our way out? 38 minutes!

The ride is AWESOME!

I have a question for you!

Where do you go to get the voucher for the pin/lanyard thing, and where do you redeem it?

Thanks!

i'm sure it printed from the fast pass box.

i really don't like that pin. I like my postcard one much better. it's more exciting.

There was a CM standing at a fast pass machine specifically for vouchers. You give pass to cm and you get voucher. There were so many lines there today. They did a fantastic job of keeping the lines in order. There was a cm with a sign to explain each line. Then there was a line for the fast pass machines for fast passes. Then there was a line for the LE pin. They had several places where you could redeem the voucher for the free pin. Most people did it while in line. There were several CM with boxes of them. You just gave them the voucher as you passed by them in the stand-by line and they handed you a lanyard. Very simple and very orderly. People who had both annual pass and DVC could double dip and get 2 vouchers if they gave both to the voucher cm.

In order to enter the Everest area, you had to present either AP or DVC card AND a photo id. Passholders were not permitted to bring friends. DVC were.

There were fast passes, baby swaps, and single rider lines available.

The lines move quickly since the ride is so short.

Do you think a ride chicken would like this? ( I love SM,and BTMRR, but haven't tried RNR and only did ToT once.

You get the voucher for the free pin/lanyard from a fastpass-like machine with a cm managing it. Right at the ride.

I wanna know what happens in the dark when you are going backwards. Man, the ride looks cool and kinda scary as well. Looking forward to it - Hope I can ride Feb. 1st-5th.?

Any Idea When They Might Let Those Of Us Ride Who Are Not Ap Holders Or Dvc Members? We Are Going Next Week And Would Love To Ride!!!

My husband didn't think I could handle it. But I did and loved it. He explained it as Big thunder mountain meets Test Track. However, it's like doing the test track outside loop inside in the dark, but slower and backwards.

Please!!! When were all of you people there. I don't mean to complain, but we were there right at opening and it was utter chaos!!! We had to wait 20-25 minutes for the free lanyard and then move to another line to buy AP and DVC pins. We waited in that line another 30 minutes. By the time we got close to the front CM reinforcements were coming from all parts of the park to help hand out the free lanyard and move people out of the gift shop. By 10:15 when we went the second time with our Fast Pass they had signs, but they definitely didn't have the better part of the first hour.

We were there at opening and the only bit that seemed really disorganised was getting the vouchers for the free things, the CM's there werent explaining what they were doing so most people thought it was just fastpass, I did when I first handed my AP over.

The ride itself was great fun, we just did it the once, headed to Dinosaur and was out the park for 10.00 !

Quick question...My family is heading to WDW this weekend and my wife and I are planning on visiting Everest Sunday. We're DVC members but the contract is in my father's name. He wasn't planning on doing the parks this weekend but now I'm a bit worried about the photo ID requirement. I have his Member card and we have the same last name but I don't want to have to force him into the parks.

Any thoughts/predictions? All advice is welcome.

Phil
