For those who have not ready my previous threads, my son and I set out to try to do "everything" at DLR on our 1 week trip. I made a list of all the attractions listed on the DL website (minus PFF and PH), then added to it with suggestions from the board to get that list to 100. Then we set last Saturday and made our way through the list, finally completing it Friday night with ElecTRONica. I will try to answer some questions that people might be asking about this endeavor.

A Victory Photo after conquering Disneyland

Why did we do this?

This year we got annual passes, and have been visiting DLR on many shorter trips (3-4 days). On these I have always found time to do the things I know I enjoy, but have not had time to do some things I think I might enjoy, like Mickey's Fun Wheel. So, when we planned to long trip, I decided that I wanted to make sure I did those things. But since I didn't know what they all were, I expanded that to include "everything," and made the list 100 items long so I could easily figure percentages.

So, it comes down to, I did it so I could find new rides that I liked. I roped my son in mainly to get him to overcome his fears and try some new ride I thought he'd enjoy, like California Screamin'. My son joined me because I promised him I would post about our progress and make him at least in some way 'famous' in the world of DISboards.

What did this cost?

Since we were planning this trip anyways, the cost of the hotels and passes were not an issue. It did however cost me some money I would not have otherwise spent:

Snow White's Wishing Well: 4 cents (everyone in the family needed to make a wish)
Starcade: $3.00 (4 games)
Shooting Gallery: $2.00
Games of the Midway: $20.00 (had to win a Dumbo for each kid)
Billy Hill/Laughing Stock: $60.00 (2 lunches at the Golden Horseshoe)
Total for the quest: $65.04

Overall total: about $300.00, since while my son and I were riding all the rides, my wife and daughter were shopping all the shops.

Champion Shoppers

How long did it take?

It took us 7 days, we did 16 new attractions on most days, with a high of 24 on Tuesday (Magic Morning plus Halloween Party). It took us a bit longer than it might take other because we had 3 fireworks shows (Remember, Screams, and from the Hotel), WoC, Fantasmic!, and ElecTRONica, which can be hard to combine. We also didn't try to do this as fast as possible, we knew we had 7+ days, so we didn't rush.

We also made time to let the kids ride their favorite rides multiple times. My son rode California Screamin' at least a dozen times during the week. We also took time to do things that weren't on the list, things that are not part of everything at DLR.

Mickey's Halloween Party

What else did you do?

We found time to do lots that wasn't on our official list, but are part of the Disneyland experience. Things I had not planned on doing, but that I glad I did. Here are a few of the highlights:

Celebrate, a Street Party: Happened upon this on Sunday, and my son LOVED it, so we went out of our way to see it a couple more times.

10-10-10 Master Pin Trader Challenge: My wife and daughter came upon this (while shopping), where you go to 9 different stores (1 in each land plus DTD) and get a card stamped, in the end you get a limited edition trading pin.

Trick or Treating at MHP: We managed to get 19 lbs of candy! Much fun, especially the whole Halloween atmosphere. We also enjoyed Mickey's Costume Cavalcade.

Bippity Boppity Boutique: My daughter has been wanting to do this for some time, and since her brother was off doing everything else, she finally got to be made up like a Princess. Of course when my son saw all the attention this got her, he elected to get the Knight treatment.

Princess and Knight of the Silly Realm

Pixie Hollow: No, I did not wait an hour to get my picture taken with a young lady. I waited an hour so my daughter could get her picture taken with a fairy. I did not wait in line at PFF, but my wife did, so we have pictures of that too.

3 Beautiful Fairies

Goofy's Kitchen: We added a character meal, getting to see Minnie, Aladdin, Jasmine, and of course Goofy.

Pirates of the Caribbean Trivia Challenge: A 10 question trivia challenge offered by the Disney Hotels. The questions ones that can be answered only while riding the ride, such as 'How many chickens are at the auctioneer's feet?' We did this as a family and get special buttons, 'gems' and chocolate coins.

Is there anything that should not be on the list?

I would not have included place items, such as Princess Dot's Puddle Park. They are nice to see, but there isn't really anything to do. Disney Animation is just the entry to the other 4 attractions that are there. King Arthur's Carousel at night, it wasn't that different than during the day. Other than those, I think everything else belonged on the list.

Is there anything you would add?

I would add the Parades after all, my son enjoyed them, and they are part of Disney.

What was your favorite attraction?

I wont answer this, because there are so many favorites. I will say that the Fantasyland side of the Matterhorn is better than Tomoarrowland, but my son would disagree.

In closing, my wife now says that this was too easy and that next time I need to do all of this in alphabetical order.

WOW that sounds like so much fun.

I never knew there was a trivia challenge or the details of the 10-10-10 pin. I just thought it was something to buy.

I hope you post the list of 100 things you did. It would be nice to see.

Again congrats! You have a lovely family - how many visits have you made since you got your APs? When will you return next? We've had APs twice - but held off this year - I find we go quite often when we have APs and our 2 trips this year *4th of July weekend and upcoming Thanksgiving weekend we'd require the AP with no blockouts ~ two 3 day PHs *our July PH was a 5 day* are cheaper than the Premium AP.

Loved your "do it all" report. Very descriptive!

(I was surprised how much we all enjoyed the Celebrate parade too)

We were there on 10-10-10 and did the Pin Hunt too. Were you able to get a pin before they ran out? I was kind of disappointed in the pin, it could have least said 10/10/10 on the front.

How fun! Love the "Victory" and the "Champion Shoppers" pics! :goodvibes

Sounds like the champion shoppers were doing the "everything quest" in the stores! That would be fun too! :)

Yay!!! You did it! That is so great and I love all the pictures. What a wonderful memory your family will always have of this trip. I also like that you added your thoughts on the whole thing, and were willing to see the parade. We don;t go out of our way to see it, but have stumbled upon the Pixar one at DCA several times when the kids were doing marathon sessions on Mulholland Madness, and actually have enjoyed it.

What did you think of Laughing Stock? I know that was something you were definitely NOT going to enjoy, lol. We have yet to see it either.....

I hope you post the list of 100 things you did. It would be nice to see.

Just an FYI...on Capt Silly's original post regarding this challenge (I think it was called something like Doing Everything at DL), he lists the 100 items - it is a great list.

First off CONGRATS! This sems like your family had a fantastic time and did everything everyone wanted! I do have two questions though....

1. The 10/10/10 event was that only for one day and if not do you know how long it will last?

2. The pirates scavenger hunt you said offered by the DL resort hotels do you get the form at the hotels and then return it to them also? I would love to do this!

That has been our attitude, if we are there we will stop and watch. But now having stopped to watch a couple, I see the allure. If anyone else takes up this challenge I will highly recommend adding them to their list.

I definitely not admit to liking it. We got to sit in the box at stage right (left side as viewed from the audience), with a close up view of the Sheriff whispering answers to contestant #3. I only went because of peer pressure, and did not enjoy it. But I will recommend it be put on anyones list.

I did post the list, here's a link to that thread if you want to take a look:

The 10/10/10 event was only for the one day. The pin was nothing spectacular, in fact we had to examine it closely to even determine it was special for that day. The only indication is on the back, in very small letters.

2. The pirates scavenger hunt you said offered by the DL resort hotels do you get the form at the hotels and then return it to them also? I would love to do this!

We saw a sign for it in the concierge lounge and asked about it. I believe it is available to any guests at the front desk. We really enjoyed this, even though we knew half the answers before getting on the ride. It only took us one trip through to complete it, and we found one more boat than the official answers (one of the questions is how many boats are there in the ride).

There is also a Jungle Cruise one, but you no longer get any prizes for it.

A couple of things I forgot to mention in other posts:

I got to meet Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust (FTPD) from Columbus while in line for Nemo on Thursday. We had a wonderful chat, I hope they have fun during their visit to celebrate their son's graduation.

We now have a picture of my son with Duffy, and my son is defiantly cuter. And my daughter thinks it's crazy to try to do 100 things in one week.

I've been to Disneyland more times that I can count (it numbers in the hundreds ), and even I have never done EVERYTHING...so, congratulations! I'm very impressed! :cheer2:

Sounds like a lot of fun! Glad to hear your son overcame a few fears and enjoyed the rides!

What a great idea! I think it was a wonderful way to get your son involved with the trip. And, hurray for dads who take their daughters to see Tinkerbell!!!

Congrats! Thanks for keeping us posted! It was nice to read your progress each day!
