We dealt with the SPIDERS...what will it be this year?

Awww, that is SO sweet that she wants to donate her dress! It looked absolutely gorgeous on her and that's great that she wants another girl to get to feel that way.
I love EE!! The backwards part is a bit scary, yes!
I hope you guys don't get snow!! We're at 75 right here now :-)

Thanks Kylie!

I am so proud of her...sometimes she drives me crazy and she would tell you the same about me...but when push comes to shove, I'm very proud to be her mom!

I'll keep you posted on the snow....a city 2 hours west of us in under a winter storm watch:confused3

What a great Mom you must be to have raised such a wonderful young lady! That is the sweetest thing for Jasmine to want to donate her dress. You must be very proud of her!
I'm with you about EE - I ride it every time DH wants to because I love him - but I always come off of it feeling like my brain was sloshed around in my head and got bruised. I ALWAYS have Advil with me in the parks. A couple of years ago, DH and I went to the world with sister, brother in law and niece - DBIL had a conference the day we went to AK, so it was just DS, DN, DH and me. DN had just reached the height requirement for EE and couldn't wait to go - NOW - my DS does NOT do rollercoasters - so DH and I said we would take her, and she liked that idea, but wanted Mommy to go too. Being the wonderful Mom she is, DS joined us. DH and DN rode together and DS and I were together. After a few seconds, she was gripping the rail very tightly, but doing okay so far - then I looked at the rail and could tell her hands were sweating. Then I looked at her face, and she was in a cold sweat! I just held her hand and kept saying, "Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts..." until the ride ended. When we got off, DS was literally hugging the wall at the platform, she was so sick. The CM very nicely said, "You need to leave the platform, Ma'am." I thought she was going to cry! We got her into the gift shop, and she survived, but we took DN on the rest of the rides that day! Poor DS! Anyhoo - sorry to hijack your thread - just had to share!
BTW - Jasmine looks STUNNING in that beautiful dress!

Thank you so much...I really am very proud of my girl! I have to agree with you, I thought she was breathtaking at her prom....I may have shed a tear or two!

I cannot do those rides like I used to....everything hurts when I get off....and Space Mountain...lordy I hate gettin in and outta that one....it's not pretty let me tell you:lmao:

Can you remember that those of us in the states hear 20 and think that it is cold :lmao: Good thing I am good at context clues. :rotfl2: Seriously, though, I hope your weather stays lovely and you don't have to deal with the white stuff!

Jasmine's dress is gorgeous and going to make someone VERY happy.

I advised a community service club and organized Cinderella's Closet for the students in our high school. A nearby school donated all of their unclaimed gowns and other students/ teachers donated different gowns too. I can't tell you how happy I was for the girls who came and got dresses. They were so excited and my kids helping did such an amazing job helping to build their self esteem also. It was like they were princesses. I am so happy that the new advisor is continuing with this cause.

Wow, what a selfless act of Jasmine! I would have donated my prom dress, but no one else can wear it after me because of all of the alterations I had done.....I had them custom fit the dress to me. I've donated party dresses before, but never a really formal gown. Jasmine looks beautiful in her dress! Wish I looked that good! Snow :o I can't even imagine! I've been complaining that it hasn't gotten past 68 here in a while, but boy am I glad I live here! Animal Kingdom is my least favorite park, but there are a few cannot miss things there; EE, Dinosaur, KS, and KRR. The rest, I could take it or leave it. I do love the scenery there! DTD is one of my favorite parts of DW! In the evenings, if me and mom weren't doing EMH, we would head to dtd and just walk around and relax, it was amazing!

Oops sorry Debby, I do forget about that:lmao: It's like the time I was talking about having a BBQ and Hypermommy set me straight that we weren't having a BBQ we were grilling:lmao:

I am so happy to hear that the new advisor is carrying on with the cause, I think it's so important! I love that the kids that were helping you did so much for these girl's self esteem...and at the same time making them so happy too!

I was shocked when Jasmine's dress arrived that it needed no alterations whatsoever....we joked and said it was like the glass slipper, it fit perfectly!:cloud9: Isn't it nice though that places can custom fit dresses, makes it more special:thumbsup2

So far only rain, none of the white stuff yet so keep your fingers crossed!

We only book one day at AK cause it's not our favorite either! Jasmine and I do exactly what you and your mom do...we love DTD at night!!

Have you guys done AK at night? Pooksma and I did it on our secret trip and it was pretty cool. There was nothing like riding EE at night!

Hey...you know what, we never have! I guess we'll have to skip over there one evening and try that out!

Ugh am hoping the snow stays away from you guys and you enjoy your weekend.

Wow Jasmine looks beautiful in that gown! I'm very happy that she is donating it so people less fortunate then her get to have a special time in that gown - you should be proud of the lovely daughter you have raised.

I'm not looking forward to EE going backwards and lol on Jasmine teasing your sister!

Yay on eating at Tusker House! And of course we insist that you get an ice cream from Ghiradelli's whilst at DTD!!

What a BEAUTIFUL gown and BEAUTIFUL thing to do donating it...I am sure it will make someone else sooooo very happy to wear that dress!! :goodvibes

You had me for a minute there with the 19 degrees. I was thinking how terrible it was to have 19 degrees in late April. Of course, snow is pretty common at 19 degrees, so that part made sense.

And then, it occurred to me that perhaps in Canada, temperatures are in Celsius. :rolleyes1

Beautiful gown, by the way. Jasmine looked fantastic. :)

Great idea Jasmine!!! You will be rewarded someday for that

We have a project like that here that our local radio station does every year. One of my co-workers had a girl from her church that needed a prom dress, so I told her about it and the young lady was able to get a dress. I didn't know her but it felt good to help out. Being a single parent I had to think what would happen if when my girls need a dress and I can't afford it? So I am glad to hear that they have the Grad Gowns there, and kudos to you Jasmine, and YOU too Queen for raising such an outstanding young lady.

Now I am going to go hug my young girls and wish good thoughts for them when they get to be Jas' age!!

Well I was hopeful yesterday when it was raining but the temps dipped below freezing now so we awoke to snow:confused3 Not impressed!

Her donating the gown made up both feel good...thanks for your kind words! Jasmine will probably be tormenting her aunt on this trip too....it happens every time...:cool1:

Cannot wait for TH breakfast, I love breakfast food! Ok...I'll get an ice cream and I'll take pics so you guys can see them:rotfl2:

Thanks Shannon! I couldn't agree more:woohoo:

I'm going to try and get better at the temperature thing...I always forget about converting before posting:rolleyes1 May 1 and it's snowing....I keep asking myself why do we continue to live here.....:rotfl2:

Thanks...I will pass along to Jasmine, she is currently getting ready to go to work at noon, she was supposed to be off today, but they called her in...more Disney spending money....:woohoo:

Aww that's so sweet Samantha! I completely understand what you're saying, being a single parent isn't easy, financially it can be so tough sometimes! I actually started a separate account at the beginning of her grade 11 year and started putting money into it so that it wouldn't come all at once. I knew between the dress, the dinner and the photos it was going to be expensive. We had also discussed that I was willing to put in $200 for a dress, if her dress was anything more than that she had to pay the difference. It worked out great! But believe me my friend, I know how tough it can be.

I hope you're having a great weekend:hug:

I thought I would do a quick post before I had to run Jasmine to work. I didn't want to venture out yesterday because it was pouring rain with high winds...but now that I look outside and see the snow, not sure which one will be worse:confused3 Oh well, I have to get groceries and I told my parents I would pop in for a visit (they live very close to the grocery store I shop at).

I am taking the week of May 23 as my first week of holidays this year and on the Tuesday we've decided that we'll head down to Fargo ND for some pre-Disney shopping! We love our road trips to the states and we love the fact that we get "different" things there than we do here! You that know us well know Super Target is our first stop...how I love that store! Once we're finished getting everything we need there we'll get back on the road to drive the hour to Fargo and hit the mall. After the mall we'll head over to Kohl's...I find the last two trips Kohl's has been hit or miss for me so we'll see what this trip holds.

Jasmine has already asked if we can go to Paradisio for dinner (Mexican) on Tuesday night and really who am I to argue, they do make great margaritas there and we can walk from our hotel:cool1:

The next day we'll hit Gordman's, Dress Barn, Burlington Coat Factory although I never seem to have luck here so we may skip this one, and TJ Maxx.

I have only booked us the one night, however, if we end up spending alot I will book another night so we at least get our $400 exemption, but we'll see. I guess it depends on how many pairs of shoes and boots we buy....duty on those is killer if you haven't spent 48 hours.

So there you have our upcoming plan and I will keep you posted if anything for that week changes! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

Woo hoo, the Animal Kingdom! I agree about the FOTLK. It is such a great show...so much energy. :thumbsup2

Ugh, snow in May?! We had on the news last night and when they were doing the weather they were talking about plowable snow in some places (luckily not in Milwaukee!). But they did say that for here, since January, we've had 73 days of rain or snow. The joys of the midwest.

Sounds like a good mini vacation!!! Shopping is always a great way to spend a vacation!! I wish we had Super Target here because I always shopped at one in FL and loved it!!! It's funny how it's 2 miles away from Walmart and is never as crazy as the Walmart by WDW!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Love the quick trips to Grand Forks/Fargo. About two weeks ago I zipped down to Grand Forks (took about an extra 40 minutes with the US detour) and picked up one item then zipped right back up. Even with Duty and gas I still saved about $350. Oh, and for those still wondering...

Two days ago it was 72F, this morning it's 23F. By Tuesday it's supposed to be 64F... 'cmon Tuesday!

Hooray for Pre-Trip Shopping :woohoo: Its always so fun to pack your bags with fabulous new outfits. Tell Jasmine that Ive had great luck finding inexpensive things (AND Disney things- mostly tshirts and sweatshirts) at Forever21. SuperTarget is a must - and I would skip the Kohl's too if I were you... theyre kind of 'meh' lately.

I also have been wanting to pop on and shine about how great it is that she donated her ballgown. :littleangel: Its moments like that when you realize how genuinely kind someones heart is... and that comes from somewhere. You're clearly the greatest Mom! :goodvibes Im very humbled & inspired by you both.

Keep me posted on the shopping mini-vaca... I love talking about that stuff too!!! Try stay warm this weekend, and think Disney thoughts!

I have the CD of FOTLK in my car right now....:cloud9: It felt more like November than May today:confused3 I noticed a girlfriend of mine that lives northwest of the city posted pics on FB and they clearly have plowable snow:eek:

We haven't been down to the states since August of last summer so we're very excited! I think I love Target so much because we don't have it here yet and it's different:woohoo:

At first I said to Jasmine that we would wait and see if 75 opens, but then I thought, what the heck, we'll take the detours, we'll just leave earlier!

Thanks for doing the temp conversions for me...I always forget! I hate to admit that I turned the heat back on last night:rolleyes1

It is fun...I love these trips! She has Forever 21, Hollister and Abercrombie all on her list, she did luck in at Macy's last year with shorts though!

Awww you made me cry! Thank you so much for your kind words! I asked her if she wanted to put it on one last time before she took it to the dry cleaners and she said no, I've already had my day:thumbsup2 I wish we could see it on it's new owner, but I know it's all anonymous which is good too!

I'll keep you posted for sure....I'll take pics when we're down there too!!
