We checkin Dolphin next Thursday, when should I fax room request?

I have already called SPG to request a renovated room, but I have read that it does not hurt to fax a request directly to the hotel also. I think someone said they do room assignments the Friday prior to the following week. Is that true and if so, when should I fax my special request in. I don't want to send it too early so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle, but I don't want to wait too late either.

I haven't faxed the Dolphin my request. I always email them from the swan dolphin site. I have also called the Dolphin directly, 3 days ahead. Hope this helps.

before our stay 2 weeks ago. But, we also had the same request on the SPG reservation site and from when we called to change our reservation. So....its hard to know which one worked! We did not get the Jr Suite we requested but got a great view of Epcot and a balcony (East Wing 6017).

Go to www.swandolphin.com, click on Reservations, and Special Requests. I would do so TODAY! You will get an e-mail form to send your request. Include your Starwood number, and, of course, ask in the nicest possible ways. Check your reservation at www.spg.com. for an upgrade. I've never read about anyone faxing a room request on these boards. The S/D "experts" go through the websites.
