We changed our Reservation last night from the AKL to the Poly!

We thought about it and changed our AKL concierge ressie for our honeymoon to the Poly concierge!!! - We actually saved money by doing this - it was 400$ less! And we figure since we are on the monorail we won't need a car.

I have read so many great things from Tikiman's site about the poly and how they pamper you SO I hope we haven't made the wrong decision. I haven't stayed at the poly since I was really young!

Is there anything I should know about the Poly? Also how is the transportation from the Poly to AK, MGM, or DTD?

Wow! AKL and Poly are my two favorite resorts! But if Poly was $400 cheaper, than you made the right decision.
You can't go wrong with the Poly. I love everything about it! The whole resort and everything surrounding it is beautiful and totally Disney! (It is a great place for walks.)
Transportation seems pretty good. We made it to everyplace we needed to be within a short time.
You may just want to visit AKL if you get the chance, as it is also very beautiful! Have a great time!

Well we loved the AKL when we were there in 01/02 but we were thinking we would also save but not renting a car if we stayed at the poly - so that was even more money - if we stay at the AKL we felt that we needed the car since it was sooooo helpful to have on the last trip.

I actually enjoyed the food at AKL concierge a lot more than Polynesian. The transportation from Polynesian to AK and MGM was hit and miss when we were there in July. Next time I would rent a car to drive to those parks.

We stayed at the Poly conceirge for the first time in the beginning of November 2003. It's a WONDERFUL hotel!!!! I would suggest renting a car though. Getting to MGM, AK on the transportation can be a pain. Plus it's nice to have the freedom to just go when you want instead of waiting on someone else. Have a great time at the Poly!!

We rented a car last time - but for 300$ to only use it once to go to AK, and once to go to MGM seems little steep.

We did like AK - but MGM didn't go over very well with DFH - he got sick on almost all the rides (RR, ToT, ST) so we will probably only spend a morning there. Don't know why they bothered him when he was fine at Epcot and MK.

If we get a good deal on a car we will consider it - b.c you are right it IS more convienent but last time we rented a full size for only 150$ so seeing 300 for a smaller car for the 8 days seems a lot for the little we will use it.

Congrats on your choice! I haven't stayed at either yet - we will be at the Poly in a few weeks. I am sure you will have a wonderful time.
